I received a very quick & affordable quote from the Cellular Doctor to repair the broken screen on my iPhone. I was happy to see that they were open on Saturday when other shops weren't, especially with an impending ice storm approaching. I really needed my phone repaired ASAP. Sure enough, I was greeted with excellent customer service from the moment I walked through the door. Freddie assisted me with my phone. He was very knowledgeable & said that he would be right back in about 5 minutes. I couldn't believe that in roughly about that time, I was paying for my repaired iPhone. Initially I couldn't remember my password to get back into my iCloud account. He offered options to help restore it. Thankfully, I remembered once I got home. I was able to use my phone again & charge it up just in case I lost power during the ice storm. I'm so grateful to Freddie for walking me through the process effortlessly. Terrible! Man says he replaced the screen but it didn't work with touch like 30 seconds after leaving the store and getting into my my car. Didn't even leave the parking lot and when I went back in he tried to upsell me another screen. When I insisted that he make good on the purchased screen he went in the back put the OLD SCREEN BACK ON AND SAYS I'M NOT FIXING YOUR PHONE. Now my phone won't even turn on. Was traveling through Charlotte in Mid-February 2020 when I dropped my phone cracking the screen. Brought it in for a repair. Fast forward to May 2020 when my screen went blank. Brought it into my local store (Virginia) who said that the first screen had not been installed correctly, and protective adhesive had been left on it - "Looks like someone who had never worked on an XR before..." was the comment. I called Cellular Doctor to ask if they would honor their warranty and refund me my money. They said No, as "the other repair shop could have damaged it". Umm I wouldn't have brought it into the new Repair shop if it hadn't stopped working. I was surprised to read some of the bad reviews here- honestly not at all my experience. The staff (especially Freddie) were knowledgable and friendly- they did a great job and I left there feeling relieved and happy... We had a cracked iPhone screen, called to see what the process was- they said no appointment necessary and they could likely have it done in 1/2 hour. True to their word 1/2 hour later they had replaced the screen. Additionally, one of the associates recommended a corning glass screen protector which was appreciated and purchased. Nice well-kept store with great service. Service was quick and professional with guarantees on the work for peace of mind. There was a minor issue following installation that the fellows were happy to address, and now my phones battery life has been greatly increased. 4* review is because they didn't have a certain product that I needed , namely the Lifeproof quickmount adapter and accessories. This is not a review of a general repair. I was first informed that they had the part I needed repaired in stock. When I got their they did not. They then told me that they would order the part for me and it should be in within a couple days and they would call me. A week then passed so I called to see if it was in, they said Saturday latest. They then called me on Monday. I came in for the repair he did it really quickly. Though he did not go through the forms he should have to do the repair. The outcome was not a specifically good one since the part was not of quality. Even though the store began to get busy the employee did a great job of managing it. And still helped me try to figure out why it was blurry even though to no avail. He then replaced the part back with y broken part. And now it is falling off and I am in a worse place than before. TL;DR - I needed a specific piece replaced they told me they had it, they didn't. Told me it would be in, it took way longer. Then the piece didn't work, so now I am worse off. But the employee was helpful even during a rush of customers. read more

Very glad I went to Charlotte Cellular Doctor! I called around a few shops, and I got the best quote on my iPhone 4s repair here. Had a completely cracked screen and back cover, I got a pretty good price on the repair from these guys, and even got a warranty(that I never needed) The guy at the front desk was very helpful, and even showed me that the reason my camera pics were all blurry was a scratch on that back cover over the camera lens! Never broke a screen in all my years of owning cel phones. I've dropped them, but never broken a screen. The company I work for was replacing the roof and a piece of sheetrock dislodged from the ceiling and broke my screen. Found these guys online and took my phone in to get repaired. First, they were the least expensive out of half a dozen stores I contacted within a 10 mile radius of downtown Charlotte. Freddie helped me the first time and said I could pick up in a couple of hours. I picked it up at the end of the day and was very satisfied with their work. My company fortunately paid for this repair. Over the weekend, I had my phone in my hand along with some other items and it fell in the kichen. I picked it up and the screen was cracked! So I returned to the Cellular Doctor, told James what happened and left it with him to be repaired again. Picked it up again, looked great and left. Two days later I was trying to open the front door to our office, obviously didn't learn my lesson about holding the phone in my hand with other items, and it fell AGAIN and cracked! I couldn't believe it! I had purchased the tempered glass cover on the second incident thinking that would solve any future issues, but unfortunately it fell on the corner of the phone and the tempered glass would not have protected it from that point of impact. So I went back for the third time, explained to James what transpired and hemust have seen the distress on my face that I was going to have to pay twice in the past three days to get my glass replaced and told me they would take care of it for no charge! They didn't have to do that, it takes a good two hours for them to delicately remove and replace these covers. Replaced my screen and the tempered glass shield. Just wanted anyone that reads this to know that in this day of customer service, or lack thereof, it is refreshing to find a business that cares about and works with the customer. Terrible customer service. Owner very inconsiderate and disrespectful. Purchased a phone from owner, went home to activate the phone, the screen had a purple line vertically , returned to the store immediately which was about 30 mins after purchase, owner left, employee was there , I asked for refund (with all receipts) employee called owner on store phone, he yelled stated to bad, no refund , leave or ill call the cops. I stayed cops came. long story short, no refund, damaged phone, $450 down the drain, and on to top of that, BANNED from the store!!! ZERO stars !! Would NOT recommend!! read more

Tried to replace the screen on my iPhone 7 Plus myself but rounded off the head of the provided tri-point screwdriver. Still waiting for resolution... Here's my story so far. Over a month ago, I called in about getting a battery replacement for two phones, same model. They charged 1/2 price up front so that they could order the appropriate batteries. This seemed fair. I brought the two phones in for repair. They said that the phones were used phones and had previously been opened because they apparently found stripped screws inside. However, my wife and I bought both phones brand new from Verizon -- not even certified refurbished, we went back and checked. The stripped screws made it so that they broke my phone's speaker while replacing the battery, and they were so nervous about breaking my wife's phone that we told them to leave it alone--which they ignored at first, but ultimately honored. So now we had one phone that had a working battery but a broken speaker, and another phone that was still not working because they didn't have a way to deal with stripped screws appropriately. Thankfully, 1/2 price for 2 battery replacements is enough to cover 1 phone's repair. And they promised to fix my phone's speaker. After waiting for the correct part to come in, they failed to leave us any messages telling us it had arrived. They invited us to call them and leave messages, but they never actually listened to our messages. So it was up to us to pursue them until we actually connected on a phone call, because we could not count on them to pursue us and leave messages. Once the part arrived, we took my phone in, expecting to leave with a working phone and a working battery. Instead, they fried my circuits and lost my access to the pictures that were on the phone. In an attempt to do right by me, they ordered a replacement phone of the same type. So we were in another waiting pattern, again having to pursue them to find out when it had arrived. The new-used phone arrived, and within one day it was clear that it also had battery problems. It has died on me with anywhere from 20-65% battery supposedly remaining. They want to try to replace this battery, too... I asked for my money back, because I am now in the same position, except that a) I have already wasted a ton of time, b) I no longer trust them to successfully complete a repair, at least on my kind of phone, and c) I am no longer willing to invest more of my time in seeing whether they can get it right "this time". We're about a month and a half into this madness. They won't return the money. They claim that their owner is out of the country (which is possible), and that he left no one behind with the authority to offer a refund (which I find ridiculous). I am left in the position of waiting for someone to be in the country who has the authority to offer a refund and of still having a phone that dies quickly. The only alternative they have given me is to put my phone back into the hands of people whose track record with me includes: 1) replacing one battery while breaking a speaker 2) being incapable of replacing another battery for fear of breaking phone #2 3) frying my phone's circuits while trying to repair the speaker, and 4) finding me a replacement phone that leaves me with the same battery issues I originally had, but with $82 less in my pockets. Essentially, they have a 100% fail rate on fixing the phones we have entrusted to them. Would you hand your phone over again? At this point, I consider them to be holding my money hostage. I STRONGLY caution anyone who is considering doing business with them. On the one hand, they have tried multiple ways of making this right. I get that they're not a big business like Verizon or something like that (and if they were, at this point I would be demanding a brand new phone as well as several months of free services). And for a small business, expensive failures are more painful. But their pattern of failure makes it pretty generous that I am not demanding more than a refund of my money, especially since I am willing to give them the phone they broke in case there are any parts they can still use in their repair business. At this point, it has become infuriating that I have to keep following up on this simply because they are holding my money hostage -- money I gave them in exchange for a phone with a working battery and no more damage than it originally had. That was the deal, they haven't held up their end of the bargain. Did they try? Sure. Did they succeed? Absolutely not. So they shouldn't be keeping my funds. Period. read more

Normally I don't have any issues with them, but after taking my phone there recently to replace the screen, the next day it stopped working and they wouldn't honor my warranty in which they did in the past. I had a cracked screen on my Evo 4g - they replaced it for me, but a couple weeks late I noticed a lot of dust under the screen. Went back and had them fix it. Within 48 hours the lcd went out. I took it back, and they told me of the additional charge. I asked 3 other cell repair places and they stated that it was Cellular Doctor's fault because them not putting the screen on right the first time and allowing dust to get in their and dust is what ruins the lcd. When I mentioned that the manager would not even look at me or acknowledge the that this was or was not the case - nothing. Then to top it off, when I dropped it off he told me it would be a couple hours, I called 6 hours later and was told he had not gotten to it yet, it was next and should only be a couple hours - they would call me. They called me 5.5 hours later and told me that it would be ready first thing in the morning. I got there at 10 am when they are supposed to open - they did not open until 15 minutes later then proceeded to tell me that it was going to take them 1/2 hour to put it back together.
