Though I thought it might be time to buy a new computer altogether, decided to put it off for another year or so (since Apple store hours and services were limited at this time). Instead, I just bought a new compatible battery (thru Amazon) that could be replaced by Apple, or an Apple-authorized repair shop. After googling some reviews online, decided to call this repair shop. I was able to speak with Nick right away, and he made the whole process seem so easy and hassle-free...and said that they can usually do it within the same day. He also gave me a quote for the repairs. Not only friendly, but very helpful! Although I happened to visit the shop on a busy Wednesday afternoon, Nick managed to get my laptop battery replaced and the fan blower (?) cleaned within a few hours. He was even willing to work past their store hours to get it completed if necessary! Whew...I was SO relieved to hear that, as I would have hated to leave my personal laptop with them overnight. Not only was this process hassle-free and expedient, it costed under 100 bucks!! By now, I've tested my new battery strength, and it has improved tremendously. Also, the fan blower isn't as loud (almost scary). So overall, am very satisfied with the service and repairs...and I would highly recommend this place for anyone with any PC issues!

Alex responded to my request on a Thursday evening, which I really appreciated. I received one other quote, but this shop was closer and significantly more affordable at $350 instead of $600. The next day, I spoke with Ahmad and paid in advance so they could order the replacement part. They informed me that it would arrive sometime between Monday and Wednesday. Later, they even called me back to confirm that I wanted a Grade A screen, explaining that while it wasn't completely brand new, it was still covered by a one-year warranty. If I preferred a brand-new screen, it would cost an additional $50. I asked Ahmad for his honest opinion on which option was best for me, and he recommended the Grade A screen over the new one. I trusted his advice and went with that option. I dropped off my Mac on Wednesday at 9 AM, and by 11:30 AM, I received a call saying it was ready for pickup. "3540 Toringdon Way Suite 200 #311, Charlotte, NC 28277." He said that it was incorrect and proceeds to give me an address that's in Mint Hill. "I said that's what it says online." He said, "That's just... that's... how do I explain this? That's just a placeholder that Google makes us use because it won't let us take it down." I said, "It's what it says on your website. I'm on the bottom oof the page of your website." He said, "Yeah, that's... that's..." I said, "Y'all need to take that down. Because what's just happened is that both of our time just got wasted. Nerds to Go does not have a South Charlotte location. They don't even have a Charlotte location. They have a location in a Charlotte-adjacent city that some might consider part of the Charlotte Metropolitan area. The webpage hosted on their site that advertises a South Charlotte address is indeed a lie and it IS something they can control. At the time of this writing, the url for that is https://www.nerdstogo.com/south-charlotte-nc/. You'll notice that south charlotte is even part of the address extension attached to THEIR domain. This is not Google's doing. This is the deceptive practices at worse or laziness at best of their shop owner and/or site administrator. Either way, it's a 1-star sitch for me. And mostly because the guy taking customer calls lied and was rude.
