Yes this is a sports bar and grill, so if you don't like cigarette smell, might not want to go, it's not very bad. Non smokers will notice though. I was in there with my partner recently and our server apparently took an interest in my husband and started making some disgusting comments to us trying to get his attention. He tried flirting with us but when I told him we didn't appreciate his advances, he told us that he acts this way with all his customers. I was not only surprised but shocked that a waiter would act this way with all his customers. We have been coming here for forever and the food is always wonderful but I'm not sure if I would come back in fear that we would be treated the same way. Hopefully things change and management takes note of this incident because I definitely wouldn't allow this behavior in my workplace. read more

Found this place using yelp and I'm glad we did! The waitress Marissa was super friendly. She seated us and right away brought out hot rolls and butter.. We ordered coconut shrimp, fried mexi mushrooms, and potato skins for apps. These apps were good and came out pretty fast. The salad bar had many choices and toppings to choose from. We ordered 4 entrees and they were all exceptional! We ordered a chicken fried steak baked potato, shrimp and oyster dinner, sirloin steak dinner and smothered steak with garlic mash potatoes. On my ticket I had 2 apps, 2 drinks, CFS baked potato and the shrimp and oyster dinner and it was all only $50.00! I will definitely come back if I'm ever in this area. If you want a broad selection of foods in Orange, Texas, this is is a good place to go. The complimentary hot fresh rolls is an excellent way to start. I ordered coleslaw and the seafood combination basket, shrimp and catfish, with both French fries and onion rings and hush puppies. All were hot and tasty. I saw many other dishes going to nearby tables and everything looked very appetizing. Ribs, blackened fish, taco salad, etc. They have a salad bar. The interior is old timey looking southern decor. The waitstaff were hustling the whole time we were there, keeping the tables constantly bused and were all very friendly. I've been a frequent customer since I've moved to orange and I'm so disappointed in how I was treated in my most recent visit , I went in for a Togo as usual I intended to use Apple Pay , I was then told They don't take Apple Pay but again Im a frequent visitor and I always use Apple Pay here , she proceeded to get the manager and he began to rudely tell me they don't have to explain anything to me and he stated they don't accept it and haven't been accepting it over the past few months because someone disputed the charges from Apple Pay. He treated me as if I personally committed these alleged fraud attempts"y'all are lucky I'm even still accepting credit cards" he began to yell as he brushed me off and walked away. I tried to explain that I literally just used it yesterday evening for my order and he still refused to service me. I am so upset because I've spent over $4000 in this establishment from dine-in , Togo & catering and also sending other customers from my social media platform I am an influencer & I am extremely disappointed in how the situation was handled. read more

What a fabulous find!! We weRe driving to Houston and were looking for some delicious food. Look no further. Fantastic food and service. We had boiled crabs and crawfish. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned with excellent Cajun flair. We are from Baton Rouge and NEVER attempt Cajun food outside of our area. They have the correct spices for real Cajun food. Visiting Orange on business and I was pleasantly surprised when I visited here for dinner with a couple who lives in town. The hostess greeted us & waitress was friendly. I ordered the blackened catfish, & mashed potatoes which came with the salad bar. All of this for $13. The food was delicious and I brought my coworkers back the next day. Nice salad bar. Great filet mignon cooked to perfection. Bartender made a wonderful lemon drop martini with Tito's vodka. Bacon wrapped asparagus was very tasty and nicely cooked. Came here the other day on the recommendation of a local, and he was not wrong about it being good. I had the Shrimp Etoufee (however you spell that) and it was very tasty. The best part, however, was the sweet rolls and the sweet cream butter, wow tasty! I also heard and saw their bar, but I did not have a chance to enjoy some Shiner whilst in Texas....I did get some Saint Anthony, and my oh my is that good stuff! read more

It's strange to me that you can still smoke in a place that serves food. I'm not a militant anti-smoker, it's just that the trend in most cities is to outlaw the practice. Not so in Orange. It's a "smoke 'em if ya got 'em" kinda town. Most people at Spanky's have got 'em. If that's an issue, they have a separate entrance on the side to pick up carry out orders. The food is decent and the prices are reasonable. All things considered, Spanky's is a 2-1/2 star joint. I'm feeling generous tonight. I came across this place on the way back from.lake Charles craving some crawfish. The parking lot was a little tight and crowded. When my boyfriend and I came inside the resturant there was a big group waiting to get seated. We were sat right away in corner booth. We were greeted with by going server she was friendly and seemed down to earth. We order the alligator bites and two pounds of crawfish. They serve rolls and some type of cinnamon butter which was delicious. We were starving the food did not take that long to get to the table. The crawfish comes served with some cajun seasoning butter and I'm guessing there own sauce... It tasted like a mixture of ketchup mustard and mayo. I'm not sure what it was I didn't ask lol. During covid after the state mandated masks for all employees and customer, I decided to call in an order 'to go.' I was greeted and spoken to by a hostess wearing her mask on her chin...mouth & nose uncovered. As a 'high risk' person, I chose not to stay around and called asking for a manager after I left. He told me he was cooking in the kitchen and could not be everywhere but would talk to the employee. I posted on social media and the owner proceeded to accuse me of hurting his business, to get over myself, called me a Karen, and said he didn't see why I was 'bent' over an employee not having her nose covered! His attitude is exactly why that employee thought it was OK. The food was mediocre at best and the taunting by the owner on multiple levels makes for very poor business practices. Never again! Oh, and they allow smoking in there. read more

This might be tricky to evaluate. I guess I would say it's good for it's location. I didn't want to eat at a chain restaurant and was looking for something locals revered as a "good" spot for dinner. I decided I wanted to have a seat at the bar which was located behind a swinging door which I opened and was unimpressed. There wasn't any seating available do to the fact the room is about the size of a typical McDonalds bathroom. The fact that the bar was the only area you could smoke didn't make it and ideal spot to eat. After going back to the hostess we were seated right next to the decent salad bar. The menu was average for the exception of "Spanky's Spuds" which were crazy as hell. I opted for the Chicken Fried Potato after the waitress recommended it over the others. It was stuffed with fried chicken, butter, and topped with gravy. That with a salad and I was busted. Overall experience= If you're not in the mood for one of their stuffed potatoes (list of versions online) I'd look for something else. read more

Fricking worse crawfish I have ever tasted. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't been to New Orleans and eaten real Louisiana crawfish...this place served me the most salty, clove tasting mudbugs I have ever eaten....and for the recored SEASONING DOESN'T GO ON TOP OF CRAWFISH, if you know how to boil crawfish the flavor would be inside the crawfish not the outside. This review isn't so much for the food, because the food is usually good if not a little on the expensive side. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE CONDITION OF THE TAKE OUT AREA. On 07-11-21 I ordered a salad to go. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the BLACK LOOKING MOLD on the ceiling tiles. It was so black it looked like it was about to fall. This has taken MONTHS IF NOT YEARS to get in this shape, there were buckets on the floor to catch water dripping from the ceiling, while standing there water dripped on me. Looking around this place hasn't been cleaned in a LONG TIME. There were several spiders with spider webs in the corners, the lights were FILTHY, the walls were dusty.. The ceiling looks HORRIBLE. There's crap inside the light fixtures, the tiles are black with mold and and water damage. How can someone let the public see this and leave it that way????? I think the health Department should be called because obviously they haven't been there in a while. That crap falls from the ceiling into food. The owner should be ASHAMED. I won't be eating there again because if that is the way things look where people can see, then what does the areas that you can't see look like????? read more

I didn't like that there was still smoking allowed in here. The smell drifted into the main restaurant. But the rest of the experience was WONDERFUL. My husband and I visited here and after $48 for two meals we were very very disappointed. I got the grilled Mahi mahi. Hands down the worst mahi mahi i ever had. It was so dry and no flavor at all. I got a side of the bacon wrapped asparagus and it was super stringy. With the meals you also got to go up to the salad bar. Shorty after eating our salads both of us had upset stomachs that ended in a trip to the restroom. My husband got the ribs and side of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was nothing special and the ribs weren't bad but not worth $18 at all! For the quality food the prices need to be way lowered or get a chef who can cook for how much you are charging. I would not recommend this place to anymore nor will we ever go back. read more

Passing through Orange TX on my way back to CA tonight. Saw this place and pulled into the parking lot. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the best, most perfectly seasoned plate of fresh crawfish ever!! I was so impressed I ordered the fried shrimp even though I wasn't hungry. I simply wanted to sample more of this locally caught and prepared food. I ended up eating all 10 fried shrimp, a dish of perfectly dressed cole slaw, and a couple hush puppies. I sure wish I could find shrimp and crawfish this fresh and well seasoned in LA.
