We've lived in Bridge City for about 1.5 years, have eaten there several times now, and have never been anything but very impressed with Tequila's. Our past Mexican restaurant experiences include big city faves THE Original Momma N's, Lupe T's,, and the "Poppa's" Cantina ... so we've been around the taco block a time or two, dontcha know. The quality of the food at Tequila's in Bridge City is excellent - always fresh, always lean, high quality meats, bright, crisp veges, creamy cheese, guac, salsa, and sour cream ... cooked to perfection, coming outta the kitchen to the table hot, hot, hot! There are so many great meals - the chili rellano dinner (cheese-filled especially) is oh-so-cheesy-good, enchiladas every which way they fix 'em is enticing to the tastebuds, the tacos are ... taco-rrific. But, my favorite meal at Tequila's in Bridge City is the chimichanga dinner with shredded chicken! I think the chef takes the biggest, freshest flour tortilla they carry and they STUFF it with the juiciest, leanest, chicken breast meat, cheese, beans, then deep fry that bad boy to perfection ... then you get options of what you want slathered over that gorgeous golden crispy chimi, and finally dress it with colorful crisp lettuce, gooey green guac, bright red diced tomatoes, and topped with a delicious dollop of cool sour cream. Dang - I'm drooling as I type this! I skipped the rice, but chose both refried and charro beans at my most recent visit to Tequila's (no open flames or lit candles at my house, LOL - BOOM!) The bean soup should be sold by the gallon - it is that good. I told my server - an awesome young man by the name of Stephen - that I wanted to get the charro bean recipe ... Stephen just chuckled ... I'm gonna bet it's an old family secret recipe but there's no "beautiful bean footage" of family cookouts to roll, or a friendly Irish Setter doggo willing to trade recipes - haha! Anyways ... beverages ... did I mention the cold, refreshing, relaxing "adult icee", aka the frozen margarita, yet? When you walk in Tequila's hot, tired, thirsty, and hungry ... nothing will tackle the first three better than a Tequila's frozen margarita! And yes Josephine - those house frozen margaritas DO have real tequila in them ... which is why I get the regular size instead of the ginormous fishbowl-sized margarita. Their frozen margaritas are cold, refreshing, relaxing, and ... intoxicatingly delicious! Even though I only have to cross the street and aim down Jones, then Roberts ... or is it Roberts then Jones ... ? Uh ... I got lost ... Y'all enjoy the margaritas but be careful, be safe, and if you're gonna go swimming in the fishbowl - getcha a designated driver. Besides, you are going to be so stuffed full of Tequila's incredibly delicious, authentic Mexican food and margaritas - you won't wanna drive ... you'll be wanting crawl in the backseat of the car and nap all the way home! Can y'all tell I really, really like Tequila's Mexican Restaurant in Bridge City? Even if there were other Mexican restaurants in our community it would take a mountain of salt and limes to top Tequila's. From the Neches River to Cow Bayou, from Sabine Lake to the Sabine River, Tequila's Mexican Restaurant in Bridge City, Texas is the best ... and you can shout that from the top of Rainbow Bridge!

Some lady walked by and told him to charge us for the drinks but not the water. We brushed it off and decided to order. The food was nothing to brag about. I don't know how people can say this is so good. We were a while getting our ticket. They charged us $3.25 a piece for the drinks that we did not drink but nothing for the bottled water. When we questioned the waiter about it he said the water cost more than the drinks but I call bull crap on that. The menu said a dollar. To keep from making a real scene I paid the ticket and left a reasonable tip just cause I'm a nice guy. Way more than was deserved. I would definitely not recommend this place. Don't waste your money.
