Smothered Chicken Breasts with Onion and Mushrooms

3.5 Stars - We stopped to get a bite on our drive from NOLA to H-Town because there was a horrific traffic jam on I-10 due to accidents and construction. The staff is warm, friendly and accommodating, and the food is decent. We had the Grilled Chicken and the Taco Salad, both of which were well seasoned and plentiful. Located in the Longhorn Complex, which includes the cafe, a casino, motel, gas station and convenience store.

Great food, great service. Don't let the truck stop turn you away. Went here twice enjoyed both times.

Ok it's not that great meals but the cheese fries (appetizer) are simple but good! Sweet waitress and fun environment.

The food is mouth watering and quality, made with love that you can taste. Every time we go here, it's always a perfect dining experience. Today we got the triple decker sandwich and shared between 2 of us with loaded chicken fries that came with queso and also ordered fried pickles that came with ranch that was also amazing. Crunchy pickles with the cool ranch was the best combo. Their dynermite pancake combo is also delicious as well as the meatloaf sandwich!

The staff is friendly and you'll get served up quickly as soon as we set down we drink order was taken and menus was brought, coffee came hot and fresh nothing like a good cup of Joe, what I like about the place you can tell there was some elder people there that looked like some regular daily customers. I haven't ate much from here but what I had was delicious I ordered the Boudin omelette with buttered toast and cheese grits. Let me tell you the boudin was so good let alone had it in a omelette, they put a good amount of boudin in the omelette and the eggs was very fluffy and to top it all the omelette had white gravy on top it was crazy good. the grits was fresh and i always complement my grits with cheese everything on my breakfast visit hit just right. i will definitely come back, this is my go to spot in the area for a good hearty breakfast.

What a great idea; my wife and I each opted for cheeseburgers I had french fries she had onion rings, both the fries and an onion rings are hand battered. my wife and I agreed that these are possibly the best hamburgers we have had in at least a year and a half. I'm not sure where they get their hamburger buns, but they are fantastic. Upon leaving the restaurant, we found out that my wife and the manager have common ties to Brenham in terms of having common friends in the BISD school district. The theme of the restaurant definitely teeters on the Texas A&M mystique; me being a so called Tea Sipper(University of Texas alum) I took it all in stride because I know of the Aggie traditions. Lots of artwork in the restaurant as well as on exterior walls, reflecting the Aggie culture; we will definitely keep this place in mind when we travel back-and-forth from the Port Bolivar Peninsula.
