I recently moved to Sulphur from South Dakota. There was a place in my hometown called The Dew Drop Inn. It was a favorite for many of the locals while I was growing up. Even people who moved away and came for vacation always made it a priority to stop at the location. They served the normal all-American food that you'd think of. When they closed and they shut their doors, I never thought I'd have the taste of homemade malts again. However, when I tried Dairy Barn for the first time, I instantly had a flashback of home. I took a sip of that chocolate malt and a bite of my pickle covered burger. I had memories dancing around me of my childhood, swimming at the town pool or having supper with my aunt after school many times I have tasted that same savory-sweet mix of fries, beef and ice cold malt and I am glad that I found a place that reminds me of home and I hope to go back soon. I would give this 5 star if the burger wasn't so small. But, other than that it was fantastic. They were super packed inside and in drive through. The food was great and so was the service. This was my first time and I will be back. I LOVED the fries. They are crinkle cut. Crispy on the outside and soft like a cloud on the inside. Sooo good.I'm sorry I forgot to take a pic. My favorite burger ever! That's partly due to the GREAT thin-cut onion rings.

Since I've driven past this place a dozen times this past week, I decided to check it out with my baby sister on Monday. We went in during lunch rush and the place was pretty packed both inside and outside but the wait was actually not that bad. We were warmly greeted by the cashier. We weren't really that hungry - we were just curious to try the Southern take on American classics. Between the two of us, we ordered the chicken basket (which consists of 5 pieces of chicken tenders with crinkle cut fries and a slice of toast), a soft drink, and a strawberry ice cream sundae. We were actually disappointed when they gave us vanilla ice cream instead of strawberry because my little sister rarely gets to eat ice cream and she was craving it that day. Other than that, everything came as ordered. The tenders were delectable - the perfect level of crispiness on the outside and soft white meat inside. I'm from the New York City metro area and over there, we can literally walk down the street and have multifarious options of any kind of food you can imagine but I must say, Dairy Barn beats a lot of the various chicken tenders I've tried back in NYC. The soft serve sundae was OK but I think I might give the scoop ice cream cart in the dining area a try the next time I visit. And soda is soda. We wen for lunch today. Absolutely awful. The meat patty was so dry and tiny, with very little topping on it. Definitely NOT the Dairy Barn we were use to having. We left the food on the table as it was so bad we could not even eat it. They didn't even get the order right had to request they fix a burger in orange hitch we payed extra for. read more

If you're ever anywhere NEAR this place, STOP IN! Great burgers, chicken, and Blue Bell ice cream. Also, awesome place for kids, mine loved to watch the train that circled the top of the restaurant as we ate! They even got to blow the train whistle! Thus was my first time to ever eat here, so me and my friend stopped in, I ordered grilled chicken breast sandwiche with mayonnaise only, fries, and a drink. After server brings to our table, I pick the sandwich up to eat and mayonnaise runs out covers my plate,my bread us soaked in mayonnaise, then I open the sandwich and see all mayonaise covering the chicken breast.I had to take 6 napkins to wipe it off my sandwich and another handful to remove it from the plate in order to sit sandwich down back on plate. This place has great burgers, amazing chicken strips and fried shrimp, good poboys, and the service is fast and friendly. The lemonade is tasty, and they have a great selection of ice cream for when you just have to have a Coke float or sundae. A wonderful local place. read more

Roast beef poboys are the reason to come here. The staff is kind and generous, an the prices are fair. The novelty of the model train running every day, the decorated alligator greeting you at the door and the different flavors of icecream make it a favorite to the kids. I do find the burgers to be a bit lacking. But everything else is good. read more

Pierre special is fantastic, Texas toast with two patties and two pieces of cheese with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard! Fantastic thin cut onion rings or pretty good fries. The owner Pierre Malus is almost always around and one of the nicest people you will ever meet! They have ice cream for those of you lucky enough to not have diabetes, unfortunately I can't have any.
