The Italian pizza
Binaca S.

I got the gluten free Italian pizza and it was the best I've had in a while! I'm so excited to come again. The food came fast even though they were busy

Lunch special pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon
Alan S.

A few days ago, I drove by Spanky's on my way to a litter clean-up, and it stuck in my mind. So when someone suggested meeting for lunch on the East End, I figured it was the perfect chance to give it a try. I went for their $9 lunch special and chose a pizza topped with pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. The portion was a great size--not too big but definitely satisfying. It reminded me a bit of the frozen pizzas I used to eat as a kid in terms of size, but the quality and taste were on another level. The toppings were flavorful, and the crust had just the right crunch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure my water glass stayed full, which I really appreciated. If you're in the East End looking for a casual lunch spot with a great deal and friendly service, Spanky's is worth a visit!

Let me start by saying this is my favorite Pizza place in Houston and it's not even close! Pizza always comes out delivious and piping hot. Not too many places do a deep dish pizza well and Spanky's hits the nail on the head. Things can get a little tricky with the service in particular the seating hostesses. There has been more than once I have waited while being completely forgotten in the queue for seating. I have had good experiences with the servers once seated. Also they could turn the temp up just a lil' bit its usually an ice box in there so bring a sweater along.

I order from here a lot more than I'd like to admit ha. Pizza and food is always consistent I'm from NYC and this is one of my favorite pizza spots in Houston for sure !

Bland no taste cheese bread

Horrible. No taste, soggy food, under cooked dough. Definitely don't recommend, nor have any want to try this place again. 1 star is generous

Toscano with white sauce x Super Duper both small and it's still a lot

First time loved it. Crust is perfect. Order the Original Thin crust. We ordered Toscano with white sauce x Super Duper both small and it's still a lot

The service was amazing, my waiter was super friendly and honestly came to the table the perfect number of times, not too much and not too little. The only thing is I ordered a pizza to go for my family which was the new hot honey pepperoni flavor (if i'm remembering the name correctly) and I unfortunately saw a little friend (tiny baby cockroach) in there who wanted my pizza too. I've been to this location a couple other times and never had any issues I just wanted to bring this up just so the staff is aware. I also didn't even open up the box until I had gotten home so I was a little frightened. I know things can happen as to why that was in my order, but when I got home, I opened the box and immediately saw it in there it just caught me off guard. From the table I was sitting at in the restaurant I can see all the pizza boxes stacked up on top of one another. I just ask if maybe staff can refrain from setting up too many boxes as for cockroaches are attracted to the cardboard due to the moisture and shelter it creates for them since it is a dark box in the kitchen where the food is being cooked so it's always steaming in there from the food locking in that moisture.

A good, solid pizza, and traditional pizzeria ambiance with a bit of a buzz. Good service.

Amazing. From food to service. Visiting from MI and you cannot get gluten free pizza as good as Spanky's.

In Houston for work. Locals recommended this place as a go-to for pizza. Ordered online and picked up in store. Great tasting pizza.

The pizza was sub par and the beer had gnats in it. Poorly ran. The service was decent.

My pizza was ready on time and the service was great although our interaction was brief. It's a thin crust pizza and the edges were just perfect out of the oven. The chimichurri worked perfectly with the smokiness of the chicken. The cheese was so fresh and the sauce flavorful. Next time I'll order it well done because the toppings made it a bit soggy in the middle the next day. I can't wait to try more on the menu! The space is small and has patio seating. I would consider it more for takeout or a quick lunch.

Heard really good reviews from social media so decided to give them a try. Starting off parking is…read morea little tricky as the area is small along with the building. Walking in there a couple seats to the right, menu is on the wall to the left, and order & pickup counter in the center. I ordered the Coffee Cowboy pizza and a full order of Dad's Bruschetta (Dad OG's). It took quite a while for the food to be ready, as it was a Friday, and was just blowing up on social media. So I recommend ordering online beforehand, I also noticed while waiting for my food to be ready, that the staff taking orders were bias towards certain customers but that could just be me. There are more tables and seating outside in front with napkins rolls available which I sat at when the food ready. The Coffee Cowboy pizza had coffee-crusted hereford flank steak, smoked onion bianco sauce, mozz, white cheddar, caramelized onion, smoked salt, and truffled arugula. But sadly wasn't to my liking along with the Dad's Bruschetta. Overall, food wasn't really to my liking, and recommend ordering ahead of time.

Excellent pizza. And I felt like I was in NYC…read more We came here on a whim on an early Saturday night (around 8 p.m.), though this joint has been on our radar for years. The atmosphere is somewhat dingy, but not in a dirty way. Rather, it just felt like they spend so much time turning out wonderful pies that they really don't have time to touch up the paint. Seating is limited. We found a table in the loft, and it was just fine. It's counter service here, and the young lady who took our order was polite and efficient. Parking, by the way, is on the street or in one of the nearby garages. Most importantly, the pizza here is really good. The atmosphere reminded me of so many pizza joints in NYC, as did the pizza -- thin, foldable crust and a tomato-forward sauce. The cheese is top notch, as is the uber-thin pepperoni and fresh mushrooms. Slices are available, and seemingly popular, but we ordered a whole pie. I understand that this place is open until the crack of dawn for all the bar-goers. During our visit, however, we were the only customers without kids -- or infants. Yep. It was Romper Room for sure. All of that to say that drunks might get their 3 a.m. pizza fix here, but so too do young families patronize this place much earlier. Fun experience. Wonderful pizza.
