So few Nationwide restaurants are able to keep up the high standards throughout the country. Spago is one that excels. The staff is very knowledgeable and not suggesting items based on muscle memory, the restaurant management is the best in the Islands. Thank you Charlie for a look into your amazing wines. Allow the staff to guide you on the flawless dining journey at Spago. Not at just the Maui location but all of them. "Truly a spectacular meal celebrating our 44th anniversary. Andrea was an informed engaging waitress and all her suggestions spot on. Kudos to Connor her assistant as well. Our meal was phenomenal! I had wagyu sirloin which was superb. Seasoning amazing. The Hearth Bake Bread was wonderful. My husband had the special with lobster added to it - Thai style Pineapple Coconut Red Curry with Kona lobster- not to be missed. Finishing up a nice bottle of wine with POG soufflé - another special. Thank yo read more

By far the best experience I've ever had. I forgot to write this review as I went at the beginning of March. Our server was incredible and helpful. The food was just crazy good; I got the Wagyu steak, which was life-changing. Lol I've had all types of cuts and thought, ok, this will be good. Nope, words cannot describe how good it was. Very thankful I got to experience Spagos. read more

It's a 3.5 restaurant here's why I hate restaurants that hide their menu prices. Overall it's not even expensive. Just post it on the website so people know. We went at night time so we miss out on the stunning view which is probably a big reason for coming here. The food was decent, nothing we had was really that memorable, I ordered the pan roasted chicken, the Mrs had the new York steak. We shared some fries and the cantaloupe salad. The salad was the tastiest thing we had. The chicken wasn't crispy, the whole point of chicken skin on was to sear it and make it crispy. The skin was soft and flavorless. The steak also didn't have a crust. It needed more seasoning. Overall it was decent meal. The service was a little disappointing but I would go again earlier in the day to enjoy the view read more

An amazing evening! The food as always was amazing. The purpose of my review is to let you and management know service our service was excellent. Emma provided great service!! It's nice to be provided with someone enjoying the job and making it fun for patrons. Thanks Emma! We will be back soon!! read more

Food is really good, service is super friendly, and those views...amazing! That said there is so weird voodoo going on here. Had to wait 15min to be seated after checking in for our resy despite restaurant half empty. From there, things slowed even more. 30min from sitting down before drinks arrived. Another 20min for the first course and 20-30min in between each course. What should have been a 1-1.5hour meal turned into 2.5hours. Most of the server staff are standing around lingering, so that tells me the kitchen and bar are way understaffed. Looking at reviews this seems like a common issue. For the price they charge, this is an unacceptable staffing model. Definitely consider this before going in, although if you're extremely patient (and not that hungry), the food and drinks are good. read more

It was okay! Kind of a 3.5 star experience for me which mostly came down to the service and the price. We came for a sunset dinner when we were recently in Maui. They were going to seat us inside and then we were able to be seated outside which was much better! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and I have zero complaints there! It was beautiful and they have a big outdoor section that gets really packed for sunset. The food itself was fine -- I did really like my macadamia-crusted mahi and my husband enjoyed his tuna, but I overall thought it was way overpriced for what it was. Which is totally Maui, but this was still on the high end. We ended up getting dessert that was recommended by our server, the banana crème pie, and the filling was great but the pie/cake part had zero flavor. It was very odd especially considering how much he hyped up the pastry chef. Service was where this experience became kind of a fail. We were there for around 3 hours which is way too long. We waited about 40 minutes between our appetizer and our entrees. We had much better meals elsewhere on the island so I'd say skip this. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! We loved this place. Spark has a special part in our heart because of their location in Las Vegas, but the Spago in the Maui location was amazing! Our server was top tier! He offered an off menu cocktail and some of his favorite food choices. The Cerviche was an interesting take on what we are used to but it was delicious. The seafood curry was a great option as well. Make sure you make your reservation early so you can get a seat with a view! read more

For starters, food was tasty. Other than that....I would not recommend Spago on Maui (Wailea). We went with friends for our dual anniversaries. Made a rez a month in advance and noted the special event. Even knowing this was a special occasion, the hostess seated us near the sushi bar, hardly a view, seemed like we were in the hallway of the restaurant. Also, watched staff just stand around and chit-chat, while we had empty plates and glasses on our table for an excessive amount of time. Our server was pleasant, but not very attentive. The food runners were the most personable. Then at the end, the server never mentioned that we would be receiving a special anniversary dessert. So we ordered three other desserts, then received a fourth for "free." It really seemed wasteful. Won't be going back there. Would rather give my $ to another restaurant that cares. read more

Not a great experience if you're not staying in the hotel. Requested outside table when making reservation two weeks in advance only to be stuck in a side room inside where we were practically the only table. I'd recommend Nick's Fishmsrket instead. Much better experience. read more

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and while the food itself was good, the service was very disappointing. Our reservation was at 5:45, and we arrived at 5:43. The hostess told us there was one party ahead of us and we'd be seated after them--fair enough--but there was no warm suggestion to grab a drink at the bar or anything to make the wait feel more hospitable. Once seated, water was brought promptly, but no menus or drink lists arrived for 10-15 minutes. When our server, finally came by, we placed our drink orders, which then took another 15-20 minutes to arrive. In the meantime, no food was served for over an hour. Our server eventually realized how neglected we had been and brought over the manager who offered a small appetizer and poured the glass of Cabernet I had ordered. When our food did finally arrive--about 1 hour and 20-30 minutes later--my meal was not the correct portion. Our server quickly recognized the mistake and sent out the additional portion, but by that time the whole experience had already left us frustrated. While my entrée was eventually comped and cookies were offered to take home, the evening still felt lackluster and disappointing, especially for what was meant to be a special anniversary celebration. Staying at the Four Seasons, we expected the same level of quality service and attention to detail that the resort is known for, but unfortunately this experience fell far short. For a restaurant with such strong reviews and a high-end reputation, the lack of attentiveness and hospitality was a letdown. read more

So disappointing. Went with high expectations, of course. Had a reservation and waited 10 minutes for our table. Drinks were ordered in a timely fashion but took 20 minutes to be delivered. Good time to take our food order?? Apparently not. Almost an hour went by before we placed our order. WTF? Not 5 star, even close. Food was (eventually) decent to very good, but unbelievably slow service, with no hint of acknowledgement or apology, and server demonstrated an arrogance that didn't help. 2 hour plus experience. Not impressed. Won't be back. read more

Spago at the four seasons in Wailea was very busy. We went around 6 PM for dinner. It's a beautiful outdoor/indoor setting, but the sun is in your eyes if you are there before sunset. It's also very busy so the noise level is pretty high. The seating overlooks the pool area in the courtyard so it's interesting and very nice to look at. The menu had a good variety of appetizers and entrées. Seemed a bit pricey for the size of the dishes, but it is a upscale restaurant. Nothing on the entree menu caught our eyes so we just did pupus and shared everything. The ahi cones were amazing!!! I could easily eat 10 of those, probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The lobster ceviche came with a good amount of lobster, I'm quite surprised and it was delicious. The hotate scallops also did come with a good amount of scallops and was a little spicy, but just how I like it. The burrata and mango salad was underwhelming. We did order the Ahi Tataki as an entrée to share and it was pretty pretty well, could have used more seasoning on the sear. The miso butterfish was nice and moist. The service was great each staff member attended to us in more often than we needed. The Japanese chef personally came to our table to see how our meal was and recommended that we asked for Kamaaina discount because clearly we were local, which was nice of him to drop that tip in. Overall would come back only for the ahi cones and to watch the sunset set at the bar if anything. read more

They should change the name from Spago to Jeb's because of the ethereal, elevated, and extraordinary level of service he provides. I have never need to Spago before let alone in Maui. Great ambiance for a date nite since you can't beat the ambiance. The service is great and I ordered my steak and my date ordered the strip steak. It came as I had expected, great and tasty. Spago Maui delivers on atmosphere right away the view alone is worth the reservation. Watching the sunset from the terrace makes you feel like you're sitting in a postcard. The food was a bit of a mixed bag the macadamia nut-crusted mahi looked promising but didn't quite hit the mark for me. The service was excellent throughout, attentive without being overbearing. Where the kitchen really shines, though, is in the desserts. That course easily stole the show and wrapped the evening on a high note. read more

overrated and overpriced. Boring food! We used to go to Spago very often over the years--probably at least 30 times, and it used to be worth the money. But this visit showed how spoiled they are and are just running on their reputation. The setting is beautiful, but there is no warmth left in their operation. I've been going to Spago in Maui for 10 years or longer. Probably been there 10 times. It had always great with a good ambience and tasty food. We came here during our honeymoon to celebrate finding out that I passed the bar exam, and both agreed that this was the best meal of our lives. It was also great to watch the sunset from the outdoor seating-- I would definitely recommend starting your dinner a little earlier so you can watch it for longer. We ate every piece of food and were absolutely stuffed afterwards, but it was so worth it. Our waiter sold us on the appetizer and main entree specials, and both were great. The staff also checked on us multiple times throughout the night, and were very helpful and kind. We would love to come back! read more

Attentive and helpful service, per usual for a restaurant at the Four Seasons. My only complaint is that they run out of the lobster entrees so I was not able to try the lobster pasta during our 8 pm reservation. Just like at Mina's Fish House next to Aulani, they ran out of the lobster pot pie when we dined at 8 pm. We like to eat later because we can enjoy the pool and the beach but be aware that these restaurants can run out of popular items. The restaurant is just beautiful. We started the meal with a lobster ceviche, Thai style, with a papaya salad on top. Think papaya salad with lobster in it. I had the mushroom pasta, which was just the best mushroom pasta you can ever have. My dining companion had the curry, which she said was the best she's ever had. I'm not much of a curry person, it tasted kind of sweet to me. But the waiter did say that it's an explosion of flavors in your mouth, so if you're into curry, I'm sure you will love it. read more

One of the best meals I had in Maui. Food, service, ambience was impeccable. Beautiful scenery to boot too. Definitely lived up to expectation and worth the splurge. Kona Maine Lobster Ceviche - Lobster meat was sweet and succulent. Miso Marinated Walu - Great flavors. Bigeye Ahi Poke Cones - The restaurant's signature dish and did not disappoint. Explosion of favors with layered textures. Crab Crusted Hapuupuu - Tasty dish executed well. Roasted Double Cut Bone-In Pork Chop - The pork chop was moist and juicy. Blooming Fish - This was one of the specials of the night and was impressive. The fish was fried to perfection with crispy outside and tender inside. Worth trying. Dessert - Forgot the name of the dish but it was as pleasing on the eyes as it was in the stomach. Dining here was an experience in and of itself. Spago - Chef's sushi selection. A+++ - Asian Fusion Near Me - Maui, Hawaii

I have never, ever experienced such a rude and condescending server in my life. It was honestly embarrassing for my entire party. The situation became so uncomfortable that I had to go to the front and ask for a change of service. I've been dining at Spago restaurants for as long as I can remember, and I have never had such a poor experience. If someone truly hates hospitality, they should pursue a different profession--it makes no sense to ruin the evening of paying customers with unnecessary attitude and sass. What made this even more concerning was that my allergy was completely ignored. After clearly mentioning it, I was still served a dish full of cilantro. When I tried to address it, he wouldn't even come to the table--I had to call out across the table. His response was, "Oh well, what do you want me to do about it?" Which I responded to oh well are you going to fix it? And he said nothing but rudely snatch the plate out of me and kept murmuring homophobic slurs This level of service is unacceptable, especially for a restaurant with Spago's reputation. I was a guest at corporate event. This is the second time I've been to Spago's. It's a very luxurious place location, landscape views from the bar are outstanding. I saw two types of guests at the restaurant and bar, The beautiful people who want to be in a beautiful environment and the people that can afford to be there. Somehow I slipped in between the two. I was treated nicely by the staff. Service with them was unhurried the setting on the table we're of good quality. The chairs are comfortable. The drinks are strong so one is probably enough and two is certainly enough. I had an old fashion and a special mai tai both you need both tasty. Now onto the food lions mane pasta, wonderful salmon, and steak. I think it was a king salmon, and it was very mild. The steak was absolutely fantastic. I ended it with a Backed Haleakala, which was a caramelize shell that looks like the dirt up in Haleakala with some very tasty ice cream inside. I am happy to attend the event and partake, food and location read more

Decided to splur on our vacation so we made reservation at the Spago. It is a beautiful setting and the ambiance is really sophisticated . They valet your car for free . We got a table outside but it was high wind so we requested a table inside. The staff was helpful and found us a table inside. We got a big eye tuna poke, came in 3 small cones . It was tasty . Got a miso marinated walu . I did not taste any hint of miso and the fish is a little dry inside. My husband ordered crusted mahi . It was pretty bland but I thought the presentation was very nice. The side of fries came in huge portion and was very good. Service was a little slow. Our food took a long time to come out. Absolutely fantastic. Amazing attentiveness from our server, Cooper. First off, the restaurant is visually amazing; it incorporates the natural beauty of Maui looking across to the next island over, Lanai. Hold onto your hats, it's windy, but worth the view. We saw at least one recognizable celebrity while there as well. it is, after all, Spago at the Four Seasons in Maui. We were nervous about the prices on the menu living up to the quality they should command, Spago passed with flying colors. The hamachi tostada was sashimi perfection, but tiny for the $36 price tag. The gnocchi appetizer was surprisingly a "showstopper" (my wife's words). She got the Thai Curry, I got the Onaga done Hong Kong style, a very delicate whitefish perfectly cooked and so fresh I'm sure it was swimming around this morning. I was extremely impressed. The side of Japanese eggplant was slightly crispy and caramelized, a perfect complement to the entrees. They kindly brought out what I'd describe as a "gourmet ice cream sandwich", with coconut ice cream between two cookie-like wafers and a delightful dark chocolate sauce. This was on the house for our anniversary dinner. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The cocktails were inventive but fell short of the $21-25 commanded. Despite the price tag it represents a fair deal for the kind of dining experience that comes around once in a very long while. Highly recommend. read more
