It had been awhile since the last time we ate here. My good friend brought me here for my birthday dinner. The hosts that greeted us were friendly and outgoing. Hannah, our server was delightful and had a great personality for the position she's in. She was helpful and accommodating. I ordered the angel hair with meat sauce and my friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Both came with the salad bar. When we got in line at the salad bar, there was hand sanitizer we were to use before grabbing our trays and plates to make and carry our salads on. The food, as normal, came out pretty quickly and did not disappoint. As I observed my surroundings I saw several safety measures being taken by the staff. My friend and I enjoyed our meal, good service in this clean, well kept restaurant. Forgot to take pictures!!! read more

There is no consideration for the customer here. One waiter that is overworked and everyone crowded together in his area. He tries to be considerate but test of staff works against him. I asked to sit near door and salad bar but was refused. Next family asked for a booth and was actually told no. This is unreal!!!! Girls really wanted speg and that is only reason I stayed. It was awful! Place is cute to look at but staff makes it a never return location. read more

Spaghetti Works - Italian Near Me - Ralston, Nebraska

Just as craptastic as it's downtown counterpart. This location recently moved so it's all new but it's still cheaply decorated. At least now at the new location, they have more than 5 parking spaces. I was hoping the food would be better at this location, but it's still the same bland stuff they're dishing out downtown. read more

Spaghetti Works has been an Omaha staple for many years. It's one of those places that you like going to because of its cheap prices and decent food. The Ralston location has moved across the street from its former location into a much bigger, easier accessible location with much improved parking. For the most part, the food is decent. There are many occasions where the pastas are either over or under cooked, depending on the demand, based on the crowd. I like the salad bar, which is on the back of an old pickup truck. Some of the items are a long reach, but I like the basics on my salads (lettuce, ham, cheese, croutons, ranch dressing), all of which are on the outer perimeter of the salad bar. Their menu is straight forward, and I only stick to their beer cheese or meat sauce, as I don't have a taste for any of the others. I like the free pasta refills too. The service is adequate. Some servers here are on you like a hemorrhoid, while others lurk in the shadows and just stop by to refill your drink or give you the bill. Again, this is a family restaurant, with little frills. I think this SW location is slightly better overall than the Old Market location, but I would eat at either one anytime. read more

Went here after work a few weeks ago and was pretty unimpressed. I got the meat and cheese ravioli with the spicy Italian sauce. Absolutely no frills pasta. Plain old raviolis boiled and put in a bowl and then covered with a ladleful of sauce. For $10? I can make it at home for $5 and it'd probably taste better. It's not that it tasted bad...it's just that it wasn't anything special. Serves its purpose of satisfying some hunger...but no real depth of flavor at all. Salad bar's pretty good and well tended. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. Would I go back and spend, after a drink/tax/tip, $15 on a basic pasta dish? Probably not. Our waitress was great. She was running around after a 12 hr shift and refilling our drinks. Chatted a bit at the end of our meal -- we were very appreciative of her attentive service. A+ in that regard. read more

I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but was pleasantly surprised! Decent amount of veggies on the salad bar, and the spaghetti feast (meatballs, sweet Italian sausage, subbed in marinara) was super tasty and a better deal than the build-your-own. My hubby got the chicken w/peppers, onions, and cheese and that was really good too. His only complaint was the pesto cream sauce was more like Alfredo with pesto mixed in, but it is a 'cream' sauce... Also my sister's kids ate their kids meals pretty enthusiastically. Finally, it's cool they have all the flavored sodas on the menu (the coke freestyle machine options). If we lived here I'd be back. read more

Spaghetti Works - Had a great lunch at this restaurant. The service was outstanding from the moment I stepped into the facility. - Italian Near Me - Ralston, Nebraska

This used to be a go-to restaurant for my family to eat at. Nowadays we only visit every so often. While the service is terribly slow, sometimes you can get a waiter/waitress that is social. However, the last few times we are at this location, the servers seemed more interested in their own employee-talk-ground than the interests of the customers. The floors and tables are always filthy, bussing service is almost nonexistent. We were sat at a table with dried sauce on the tablecloth and food under the table, we had to request a new table. They got rid of the fried clams and sourdough bread. Their iced-tea tastes like dish soap, at least their fountain drinks are decent. Prices of the bottomless pasta were increased and the pasta isn't served with as much sauce anymore. The salad bar was filthy and not maintenance at all; vegetables were all mixed up and food was all over the floors. While the taste of the food is still there, I'm rather disappointed with the direction this restaurant is going. I cannot recommend this location to anyone that wants a clean restaurant with good service. If you can care less about that, then at least the food is decent. read more

The fact that Spaghetti Works has been in business over 40 years says miles about this great food establishment !!!!! The number of resturants that have came and gone in that 40 year period.is in the tens of thousands in Omaha area alone......most of them with excellent food and surroundings.and are considered landmarks establishments THAT FAILED! ...I can tell you first hand that Shelly and all the staff care about your dining happiness..as there reputation and living depends on making sure families for over 3 generations have been happy and return. I come here at least once a week :) Absolutely love this place. Prices are decent and the staff is always usually super nice. Their food is always great. The beer cheese sauce here is by far my favorite. The garlic bread that comes with it is awesome too. Can't go wrong here! read more

The last two times we've gone there we've been treated very rudely due to our large (15 people) family size. In December, my sister overheard our server talking badly about us and the fact that we didn't call ahead. Today, my mom tried to call ahead and was told that they don't accept call ahead seating. I arrived and told the hostess that we needed a table for 17 and the manager rudely said... You're going to have to wait awhile and disappeared into the kitchen for 5-10 minutes. She then came back out and told us the wait time. I explained that we had tried to call ahead and she snapped, "well I didn't talk to anyone about call aheads" and said that they "have large parties in every corner of the restaurant". We never complained about having to wait...we know that we will have to wait due to our large group. There was no reason for her to respond so rudely. We left without eating and won't be returning. It's sad, because we've regularly gone to Spaghetti Works for various celebrations over the years... We even held our rehearsal dinner and my sister's rehearsal dinner there. read more

When I called and ordered, the woman was dismissive and after I finished ordering she said, "okay." and hung up on me. She did not take my name so they ended up not inputting my order at all. If i could give zero stars, i would. 0/10. read more

If you've lived in the Omaha area any length of time, you've probably been to Spaghetti Works. If not, let me fill you in: pick a pasta, pick a sauce, pick some toppings(extra $), and they will bring you as many plates as you can eat. Plus one trip to a fairly standard salad bar. We went on a busy Friday night, and our waitress did a good job keeping things moving, filling drinks and bringing fresh pasta. If you need a recommendation, I prefer the spicy marinara on penne with mushrooms, but there are lots of combinations, so you should find something you like. read more

Every few months I meet with a friend at spaghetti works for lunch . During the COVID restrictions there was concerns on how they would handle it but they have a good system . I thought for sure the salad bar would be closed but a staff member will dish up your food to whatever you like. I have always ordered the same dish , spicy marinara with mushroom topping. Just the right amount of spice in the sauce . The mushrooms are great and are a highlight to the sauce. The garlic bread is the good but not as good as it once was. They will give you a slice per person , wish they would just bring out a basketful like they did in the past. Sometimes it's hard to get a waitress attention if you want more . The staff is almost always friendly and tends to leave you alone which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it . It's hard sometimes to get the drink or pasta refilled . Spaghetti Works always brings back memories of date nights , hanging out with friends and family . read more

In town for business and I decided to swing by for a quick bite. Service was quick , portion was large and price was great. I had the bow tie pasta with meat sauce, steamed veggies and chicken - the order came with a healthy portion of garlic bread and also included all you can eat salad bar. Our server was attentive and made sure we felt comfortable and satisfied. Overall good experience will definitely swing by when in town. read more

I suffer from celiacs disease, and was curious about what the spaghetti works menu had to offer as far as gluten free options. The manager was checking up with all the tables about the service and the food and was able to provide information about how the gluten free pasta was made. He got my order made safely and served quick with the rest of my table. He was an excellent manager, I think his name was Titas? The waitress provides quick refills whenever she noticed our drinks were low ands was very helpful At the end of our meal the manager checked in on us again and was very very charismatic and knew a lot about the restaurant! Delicious food, delicious Alfredo sauces and stocked salad bar. Atmosphere was kept nice and friendly even when bustling. Couldn't drive the salad truck! Loved it! read more

I frequently go to this spaghetti works - I am often very satisfied with the service and love the food - that has never disappointed me. This most recent visit was probably the best I have had - my server's name was Terry and I can't say enough good about him. I didn't have to ask him to pause in bringing the main course so I could actually enjoy my salad before being rushed into my dinner. This guy was a fantastic server and I will request him in the future. read more

I have been coming to Ralston Spaghetti Works 37 years. It began across the street as a restaurant called Spatz, and the owner also had Spaghetti Works, Old Market. A friend of mine in high school was a cook here. We used to come here with other friends on his days off and have competitions to see who could eat the most plates of spaghetti since refills are free. I have never once been disappointed at this location or the Old Market in all these years. Nothing fancy. Just a clean decent restaurant with consistently good reasonably priced pasta. read more

Spaghetti Works - Spaghetti with meat sauce and a spicy Italian sausage with garlic bread. - Italian Near Me - Ralston, Nebraska

I was skeptical when I read previous reviews but our first visit was average to above average. The wait was fairly long and I thought portions were smaller than other compatible restaurants, but my meal was very good (manicotti + fettuccine alfredo). However, my wife thought the spaghetti sauce seemed cheap or canned-tasting. I will definitely go back again, even if I thought the ticket was high for our simple meals. Friday night was VERY busy but the dining room was very dirty and messy - more than it should regardless of its busy night. Still, I enjoyed the meal and will go back again. read more

Disappointed this time around. The food I ordered was served like warm. Very bland taste compared to the last few times we had stopped in there. Over priced for what we got, won't be heading back anytime soon. read more

Disappointing! We've visited many times over the years and had enjoyed it. This was the second visit where our food was served lukewarm. Our server took it back and brought us new pasta, but again mine was barely warm. I asked her to bring an extra side of sauce and put it in the microwave a bit first with hopes of just warming my dish up. She wasn't concerned that my food was still cold. So my husband took my dish to the manager. First, the manager made him wait while she was clearly not doing anything important behind the bar. And when he explained the problem, she shrugged and walked away!! Needless to say, we walked out. And we won't be back. read more

THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE PASTA! OMG I was so happy! I have a pretty severe gluten allergy and when I found out I could have gluten-free pasta I was ecstatic. We were gunna come here anyways because we had a party of like 25; so I figured l'd have the salad bar like I usually do at restaurants. But, NO! They had gluten-free angel hair pasta which is my favorite anyways. So I ordered it with the hot & naked (is that right?) sauce and shrimp. It was amazing. I wish I could have had a second bowl. I practically licked my bowl clean. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because the bathrooms were kinda gross (I had to ask the lady in the other stall to give me some toilet paper) and our server messed up a lot of stuff. I understand we were a party of like, 25 but I've served a LOT in my life and typically a bit group like that gets some additional help. Poor server needed some help. Wasn't her fault, it was management's fault. But I loved my meal. I can't wait to return to a location and get that amazing pasta again. read more

Growing up I was always a fan of this place, and seeing it recently moved to a new location I was more excited than usual to give it a try on a trip into town. It may have been a fluke, but the food was pretty well below average. The spaghetti was rubbery and the beer cheese sauce was pretty tasteless. I'm still not happy with the considerably reduced size of the salad bar plates. Seems pretty unnecessary. Pretty disappointing. read more

I have been going here since I was little (and the salad bar was in a bath tub) and the food is consistently good. It isn't gourmet but if you want a decent, casual meal it is hard to beat their all-you-can-eat build your own pasta. The salad bar is basic, but good, and is included with every entrée. Their garlic and cheese bread are also tasty. The service is always friendly and it is pretty fast. It is a popular family restaurant so there are usually a lot of kids and it can be a little loud. read more

My parents and I went here for lunch, which we were pleasantly surprised they had really great deals for. Salad bar and pasta for $7. The waitress was attentive and their salad bar is one of my favorites in town because it has everything you could want for your salad and little extras like pasta salad and fluff. The spaghetti was what it should be. My mom really likes their gizzards (weird, but that's her thing). We left with leftovers and were able to have a great conversation over lunch without breaking the bank. read more

As a long time customer it seems like the quality of service is decreasing steadily. On our last visit (family of 6) the service was painfully slow. There was also a strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from the kitchen (we were seated right next to the kitchen). I had to go up front to pay our bill because the waitress abandoned the table, and when I told the manager out the service and the bad smell he barely cared at all. He didn't apologize and flat out denied the smoke smell saying that everyone was too busy to be on a smoke break. He told me that our service was slow because our waitress had a large party in the other room. If that is the case, maybe you should assign someone else to that section or get her some help. I could be wrong, but I attribute the poor service to the fact that they didn't have a single front-of-house employee over the age of 25-30. Just seemed like a bunch of kids with no supervision. Further evidence was a waitress in a back section of the restaurant (by the bathrooms) that seemed to have one table occupied by two of her friends that asked for her by name. I made several trips to the restroom with my 4 kids and noticed that she was always just standing at their table BS'ing. The few positives were that the food was actually cooked properly this time (most of the time the pasta is overdone and on the verge of mushy) and they do accept Pinpoint. read more

This place if perfect for when you're craving standard classic pasta! The Spicy Italian, Spicy Marinara, and Hot Naked sauces are great. Pasta is always cooked just right. The garlic bread is outstanding. Last time we went, I had the herb grilled chicken, which was lemony, tender and surprisingly delicious. Service was attentive, but not overly-zealous. Salad bar was tidy and fresh, with many choices. Family of 6 ate for under $50, even with an appetizer. Not for "fancy" Italian, but a great choice for standard fare!! read more

Never veer off their staple of all-you-can-eat pasta. It's why they've been successful for 30+ years. If you want something different, try their grilled chicken salad. It's outstanding. The salad bar is always consistently good. Small plates but fresh items. All their sauces appear to be fresh made. If they're not pasty, sugary, and salty that actually means they're made fresh daily. People who are used to jarred or canned sauces, sometimes think fresh homemade sauces are a little bland. Spaghetti Works wouldn't have survived in Omaha all these decades if they were serving jarred sauces. Pasta is always cooked perfectly, every time. Only downer preventing me from a 4-star review is the lack of sauce on second and third helpings of pasta. read more
