Went to Henry's restaurant last night had a number of their appetizers, first was the peach strawberry pistachio pumpkin seed some kind of cheese with mint, awesome. Next up mushroom soup, terrific. Wedge salad the best anywhere and we've tried a number of places. Henry's wedge salad is second to none. I had the salmon my wife had the spaghettini with olive oil. Started off great, after dinner was served we had to ask for drinks or anything else we may have needed, completely overlooked. Food was great. I went there with a client had not been before. The food and service are excellent. The servers are attentive and friendly. It can get a little crowded later on in evening; we went early, but that is to be expected if the food is excellent. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine, appetizers and main entrees. Described Seafood dishes both online and on the physical menu mention Shellfish dishes come with a Slipper Lobster tail. Well neither mine or my Wife's did. Instead we received ONE smallish Red or Jonah crab claw instead. After battling with a Shellfish fork we MAY have managed two teaspoons of crap meat. Very disappointing. Please accurately describe your dishes. Slipper Lobster tails may well come and go as far as availability, so why offer them at all? A second shrimp on the plate would have sufficed and you will never have to worry about availability and significant price fluctuation. We have been going to Spaggi's for a few years now and we think it is the best kept secret in the IE. all the food is very good and so is the service. Henry knows how to "Char" a steak better than any restaurant in the area. So i always ask for a steak to be cooked medium rare plus-"Charred". This is an update to my original review, as I said in my restaurant review my Daughter brought us to Spaggi's because they were going to cater her wedding reception in a few weeks at a venue not far away, this review is based on the experience at her wedding reception. First off because of COVID guests are not allowed to serve themselves buffet stile they are not even allowed to touch the serving spoons or utensils, gusts could only touch there plates so Spaggi's supplied all the staff necessary and it had to be 12 or more very efficient people, chef Henri was personally on sight the whole time to oversee everything and it was perfect and I do mean perfect! As the father of the Bride I was involved in the wedding party and I didn't get to see the set up, my first sight of the food preparation was as I came to the spread after the Bride and Groom had been served, the presentation was breathtaking, every platter was a thing of beauty and a work of art, the selection seemed endless, I couldn't get a little of everything on my plate although I wanted too there was so much to choose from. That night was perfect, 100 people were served there choices of amazing items, Roasted Vegetables, Salads, Rolls and Entrees, even Lasagna, everyone got there choice any or all. Spaggi's catering isn't inexpensive but as the saying goes you get what you pay for and this event far exceeded expectations so if you truly want an epic experience use Spaggi's Catering and Thank You Chef Henri job well done! read more

We have been going to Spaggi's since they opened. Love the food, personal attention, and ambience. Last night we invited another couple, who had never been there, to go with us. They loved it! We started with the heirloom tomato salad which is delicate and fabulous. We all ordered different dishes. Lasagna, Spinach linguini with basil and olive oil, and penne with avocado, fresh asparagus, and sundried tomatoes . Each dish was outstanding. Dessert: chocolate covered mini pistacchio dome cake was out of this world. The service is always PERSONAL and OUTSTANDING. It was our anniversary and we were treated with an additional dessert of a beautifully presented piece of cheesecake. We had reservations here for dinner, we arrived and were seated right away. The table was in a very awkward position so we asked the lady who seated us, which was the manager, if we could change tables.and she was very rude about it and said no, nothing but attitude. Then our waitress who was helping us throughout the night, not sure her name, but we couldn't read the menu because it was in a different language so I asked her what language it was in and she replies very sarcastically saying English, when clearly it wasn't. Then like every 10 minutes, a waiter kept coming to our table asking if we were done with our food. We felt extremely rushed, if I'm paying for the food you better let me eat in peace. The food was extremely overpriced for frozen peas and tortellini. Didn't taste fresh, wine was cheap, bread was stale. Just the whole vibe there was awkward and very very rude. We should've took our money elsewhere for the amount of red flags here. They need fresh food and better customer service for the prices they're asking for. read more

Went here for a "business" type lunch. The atmosphere is great, it looks very upscale in the old fashion kind of way. The service and food were top notch. Most surprisingly the food is very reasonably priced. I feel the $$$ is one $ too high. I often thought of this area as being a culinary dead zone but this restaurant was an exception. I had the Chinese chicken salad and it was very well done. I also had a lentil soup that was nice and rustic. The pasta looked great and I look forward to ordering that next time. read more

We enjoyed our evening at Spaggi's. The food is pretty durned good, if not authentically Italian. The salads are HUGE, so if you're getting a Romaine Wedge (which comes with a couple of huge prawns, and generous shavings of parmigiano), you really don't need much else. For an entree we had sand dabs, which had a tad too much "dore" style breading and sauce on them for my taste, but otherwise were good. Desserts were all good, very "American" except for the tiramisu....we sampled red velvet cake, carrot cake, creme brulee and tiramisu. Nothing exceptional, but fine. I have gone to Spaggi's for years and honestly, I used to believe it was the best restaurant in Upland. I understand the pandemic has impacted restaurants, especially acquiring servers. That being said, this review is really about the food. My latest meal was average at best. The chicken was chewy and still had a lot of gristle left on it. The vegetables on side were just sad. They were mostly squash and then they added frozen corn to the mix. You could taste the freezer on the corn. This was also true of the peas in the soup. If you can't afford to provide fresh then don't include frozen elements. It just left me questioning my meal for the price. Also, I would recommend investing in better quality chairs for your outside patio. If I want to eat outside and sit in a plastic chair I will go to a restaurant that is not going to run me $200 for dinner for 4. I hope they recover and reinvest in food and chairs. The only down side of Spaggi's is that its location is poor. It's in a strip mall. What can I say. Henry should try to minimize the view outside --- plants, curtains, etc. Outside of that, the food is great and the service is fine. We just had a birthday dinner there and the risotto fruti di mari was absolutely spectacular. Henry is a fine chef and is very attentive to his patrons. read more

Loved the ambiance. Best to make reservations, we had to sit outside although it looked half empty inside? Food was great, friendly staff. A bit pricey but it's what you expect from a top Chef I wouldn't expect less. I was disappointed our waiter did not offer a wine sample when I asked if they had any champagne. He said they had an extra dry one and when I asked if it was a little sweet he wasn't sure and did not offer a tasting. Worse, i was a bit turned off when they charged us $9.50 to add a 4 raspberries, and half a strawberriy to an $8.00 creme Brule dessert. So my $8 dessert turned out to be a $17.50 dessert because of 4small pieces of raspberries and half of a strawberry! See picture. Bummer i almost gave it a 5 star. The atmosphere defies its location, tucked in behind other food places and stores. The service was impeccable. Our waitress knew her specials and gave us the right amount of attention. I'm no chef but when I cook beef wellington, I can cook it medium-rare and have a lovely brown color on the pastry. At least the waiter told us upfront, but still. The chef came out to say hello and when we told him it was my birthday he sent us complimentary appetizers (along with desert!). Even though the surrounding area is not so nice, I would definitely come again because I had such an amazing dining experience. I think it would have even more business if it was in a nicer location like the Claremont village. As for the food, everything was pretty good. We shared the beef ravioli (flavorful but a little bit on the salty side). I had the shrimp cooked in butter and white wine. The shrimp was also a little salty, but the veggies were sauteed perfectly as well as the potatoes. The desserts were like "wow." The chocolate souffle was worth the fifteen minute wait. Fabulous restaurant! Both the service and food are wonderful!!! The Linguine Pesto Pomodoro is my absolute dish here and has been spot on each time that I have ordered it. They describe this dish as thin pasta with fresh pesto sauce of puréed basil, imported Parmesan and Pecorino cheese, toasted pine nuts, extra-virgin olive oil and a touch of cream, topped with fresh tomato basil sauce. Paired with a nice glass of wine, you are in for divine experience. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything has been delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in this area! read more

Wow, only 3 reviews. This place is great. Go there for lunch or dinner and it never fails. I have had numerous dinner programs here with many Doctors in the area and this place always gets a big turnout. Mainly because of me, lol, but also becuase of the food. The menu always changes but there is a lot of consistency. Great for just about anything on the menu. Service is good too. Maybe not as recognized because it hard to find. Although the location is on route 66 a ton of people blow by this place on Foothill and never notice it. It is a Mecca in this small strip mall. Will not disappoint. Spaggi's provided an amazing dining experience for my boyfriend and I. We went to celebrate his birthday and the ambience was amazing. Nice, cozy dim lighting. Although the tables are close together, the experience was still very intimate, and the noise levels were not loud at all. The servers were all very nice and patient. The chef served us a complementary salad which was delicious! I ordered the carbonara from the Chef's dinner menu and my boyfriend ordered a very delicious chicken dish with potatoes and vegetables. The desserts were phenomenal. They brought them out on a beautiful platter for us to select a dessert option. I chose the crème brûlée and my boyfriend chose the cheesecake. The best description I can give, is that tonight was an unexpected pleasure. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and my expectations were not very high. Everything could not have been more perfect. The staff was friendly, caring and very professional. You felt they really cared about you. We were provided with two types of bread and a spread that was so good, my wife asked the chef how it was made. The chef, was not hard to find, since he took the time to talk to the people at each table. We did not order salads, but they sent us some at no charge because they did not want us waiting. I believe you can often judge a restaurant by their salad and this was first rate. All of the main courses were so tasty. We decided to split a chocolate souffle. It was amazing! I have never had a better dessert and I don't make that statement lightly. There were three of us at dinner. There should have been four, but the fourth is suffering from cancer and was not feeling well enough to go with us. We asked if the chef could come up with something that was not too spicy or rich...etc. It is hard to make something bland and tasty at the same time. When we brought the dinner home, the mom of our friend, who struggles with cancer, was lit up like a Christmas Tree. She was almost dancing, she was so happy. All of this was caused by the taste of the food. I want to thank the staff, not just for the great hospitality, the amazing food, but caring enough about someone they will never meet to bring some joy into her life. If anyone is interested, I have had this account for sometime, but this is the first time I have been inspired to to write a review. read more
