A great new find for us new to the neighborhood. This place has great food, great staff and really great ambiance. Food is a little pricey but what you'd expect for this type of dining. Started off with the Wagyu Beef Raviolli $15 which was delicious. We split the Chilean Sea Bass plate $39 and it was a perfect portion. Fish was cooked to.perfection and the flavor was amazing. Even the vegetables had a light and taste sauce. Finished off the night with the pineapple upside dow cake / vanilla ice cream. We'll definitely be back. read more

Ordered lasagna, penne dalle vigne de fillippi (pasta with artichokes, asparagus, and sun-dried tomatoes), and a chocolate souffle. The gentleman who answered the phone was very polite and so kind as to take my order despite the fact that it was near closing time. When I arrived to pick up the food, I noticed the restaurant was taking very good COVID precautions with staff in masks, signs encouraging social distancing, and plenty of hand sanitizer available for customer use. The staff (and someone who I assume was the owner) were warm and kind and even provided a small box of cookies as an extra treat. 5 stars for the wonderful service. I'd have liked more asparagus in the penne, but the lasagna tasted very authentic and I enjoyed the tomato chunks and ricotta. Thank you for a great experience! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I know the food will always be good and so will the service. Went Saturday for my birthday and it was great. Food was excellent. I had my usual of Italian pot roast most delicious. My husband had the tomahawk. This seems like it is becoming more popular at restaurants and have seem it at some ridiculous prices, however here was well worth the price. You don't just get an enormous piece of beef, but large sides to go with it. It came with a large bowl of mashed potatoes and a large bowl of mixed vegetables. The sides fit the steak. All well under 100.00. I have been to other restaurants that serve just the steak with no sides for 125.00. I look for great food plus great value. They also had a new appetizer. A tortellini dish that was awesome. So another great meal at Spaggis. Adding to this review because my son and I went here for lunch. 1st time going for lunch and we generally go for dinner. It was excellent as usual. I had linguine and clams. Pasta cooked well, sauce very buttery. Also had the tomato and beet salad which is my favorite, absolutely love this salad. Fresh heirloom tomatoes and red and golden beets layered with goat cheese and fresh mozzarella topped with mixed greens with a balsamic drizzle. Delicious. My son had a pasta dish that was a special, linguine with Greek veggies and the wedge salad. Great food and service. read more

Chef Henry is the best! The food is amazing and the presentation flawless. They have a great wine list also!

Only reason why i didn't rate 5 stars. serviced slumped once a big party sat next to us. Started off great, after dinner was served we had to ask for drinks or anything else we may have needed, completely overlooked. Food was great. Was told by the waiter he'd make sure Henry would come by the table. Didn't happen. Won't knock the chef Henry the food was superb for all I know he had no idea we wanted to meet him. read more

Went here last night for dinner. Been here many times befor because my partner lives in Upland. It's fine that it's in a non descriptive mini mall, it's more that once you enter it's underwhelming. Decor said (lack of a full bar a problem as I was in the mood for a martini). Settled on a Prosecco rose which came in a small bottle. Fine. I've ordered many items before. Always good. Better than most you will find in Upland. We had the champagne corn soup to start. I was expecting a smooth soup with small pieces of corn. Received a regular bowl of soup that had corn in it. My other had the ahi (very good although heavy handed with the sauce which masked the delicate flavor of the ahi. ) had an iceberg sald which was fine. I ordered the Ribeye (I was assured it was prime) but when it arrived, it was cooked perfectly but tough. The sauces that came with it were terrible, I could not eat both (I asked for both to try). My other had the beef short rib which as good. Every time I've eaten here the vegetable that come with every meal are not overcooked but t have no flavor. The vegetables are always an afterthought. They are presented steamed I believe with NO FLAVOR. The ratio of mashed potato to steak was to small to complement a bit of steak with a bite of potato. On the other hand the short ribs came on a bed of massive potatoes. So disappointing. The dessert was a soufflé heavy as a brick (not a soufflé at all, more a heavy chocolate dessert.) Will still go back as Upland is short on good restaurants. Living in Pasadena and accustomed to eating at very good restaurants on the west side of LA, I'm usually disappointed with the offerings in the area. I entered open minded but was disappointed. Don't expect an excellent meal, expect a decent one. The shrimp scampi is good. This restaurant is just short of consistently good. Sorry to say. read more

Described Seafood dishes both online and on the physical menu mention Shellfish dishes come with a Slipper Lobster tail. Well neither mine or my Wife's did. Instead we received ONE smallish Red or Jonah crab claw instead. After battling with a Shellfish fork we MAY have managed two teaspoons of crap meat. Very disappointing. Please accurately describe your dishes. Slipper Lobster tails may well come and go as far as availability, so why offer them at all? A second shrimp on the plate would have sufficed and you will never have to worry about availability and significant price fluctuation. Otherwise the dish was good, and no issues with our Salad or Service. read more

Spaggi's - Pretty good but missing in action was the Slipper Lobster Tail - Italian Near Me - Upland, California

Great experience, the feel is quiet vibes def. nice place to take a date and have a great meal .. the food was top 10 fer sure

I went there with a client had not been before. The food and service are excellent. The servers are attentive and friendly. It can get a little crowded later on in evening; we went early, but that is to be expected if the food is excellent. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine, appetizers and main entrees. The prices were in line with what we ordered. Highly recommend. read more

Went last night with a friend for his birthday. Can't wait to go back again. Food was delicious. I had a special that was a white fish on top of pumpkin ravioli. I wanted to lick the plate. I had an apple dessert with Carmel salted gelato. Yummy!! The service was impeccable! My new favorite place! read more

We enjoyed our evening at Spaggi's. The food is pretty durned good, if not authentically Italian. The salads are HUGE, so if you're getting a Romaine Wedge (which comes with a couple of huge prawns, and generous shavings of parmigiano), you really don't need much else. For an entree we had sand dabs, which had a tad too much "dore" style breading and sauce on them for my taste, but otherwise were good. Desserts were all good, very "American" except for the tiramisu....we sampled red velvet cake, carrot cake, creme brulee and tiramisu. Nothing exceptional, but fine. I like a regular filling of my water glass, which was definitely NOT happening. Overall for Upland eats, I don't think you'd do much better than Spaggi..... read more

Friends picked up take out, drove it to Lake Arrowhead and we enjoyed an amazing dinner. Cioppino, linguini and clams, halibut, absolutely the best. I have had cioppino everywhere on the planet and never had better. Love this place. read more

The only down side of Spaggi's is that its location is poor. It's in a strip mall. What can I say. Henry should try to minimize the view outside --- plants, curtains, etc. Outside of that, the food is great and the service is fine. We just had a birthday dinner there and the risotto fruti di mari was absolutely spectacular. Henry is a fine chef and is very attentive to his patrons. read more

Loved the ambiance. Best to make reservations, we had to sit outside although it looked half empty inside? Food was great, friendly staff. A bit pricey but it's what you expect from a top Chef I wouldn't expect less. I was disappointed our waiter did not offer a wine sample when I asked if they had any champagne. He said they had an extra dry one and when I asked if it was a little sweet he wasn't sure and did not offer a tasting. Worse, i was a bit turned off when they charged us $9.50 to add a 4 raspberries, and half a strawberriy to an $8.00 creme Brule dessert. So my $8 dessert turned out to be a $17.50 dessert because of 4small pieces of raspberries and half of a strawberry! See picture. Bummer i almost gave it a 5 star. I don't think we will be back sadly. read more

Wonderful service, beautiful restaurant, good food. The beef wellington could only be cook medium. Medium?? Really?? I'm no chef but when I cook beef wellington, I can cook it medium-rare and have a lovely brown color on the pastry. At least the waiter told us upfront, but still. It wasn't bad, but definitely not the best wellington I've had and cost quite a bit more than the Harris Ranch wellington which was cooked how you wanted it. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The service was great and the food was wonderful. The chef came out to say hello and when we told him it was my birthday he sent us complimentary appetizers (along with desert!). Even though the surrounding area is not so nice, I would definitely come again because I had such an amazing dining experience. I think it would have even more business if it was in a nicer location like the Claremont village. As for the food, everything was pretty good. We shared the beef ravioli (flavorful but a little bit on the salty side). I had the shrimp cooked in butter and white wine. The shrimp was also a little salty, but the veggies were sauteed perfectly as well as the potatoes. The desserts were like "wow." The chocolate souffle was worth the fifteen minute wait. I can't wait to come here again!!! read more

Fabulous restaurant! Both the service and food are wonderful!!! The Linguine Pesto Pomodoro is my absolute dish here and has been spot on each time that I have ordered it. They describe this dish as thin pasta with fresh pesto sauce of puréed basil, imported Parmesan and Pecorino cheese, toasted pine nuts, extra-virgin olive oil and a touch of cream, topped with fresh tomato basil sauce. Paired with a nice glass of wine, you are in for divine experience. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything has been delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in this area! read more

Late review but better late than never. I took my wife and daughter for Mother's Day lunch. The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing considering the resto is located in Upland. Fortunately, the food did not dictate the spot. From their savory appetizer to yummy dessert, Spaggi did not let us down. The experience was amazing. Okay, it was pricier than your normal Italian resto but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Scored big points with my wife and daughter. Thanks Spaggi's! read more

Wow, only 3 reviews. This place is great. Go there for lunch or dinner and it never fails. I have had numerous dinner programs here with many Doctors in the area and this place always gets a big turnout. Mainly because of me, lol, but also becuase of the food. The menu always changes but there is a lot of consistency. Great for just about anything on the menu. Service is good too. Maybe not as recognized because it hard to find. Although the location is on route 66 a ton of people blow by this place on Foothill and never notice it. It is a Mecca in this small strip mall. Will not disappoint. I also saw Sugar Shane Mosley eating there the last time I was there. read more

The best description I can give, is that tonight was an unexpected pleasure. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and my expectations were not very high. Everything could not have been more perfect. The staff was friendly, caring and very professional. You felt they really cared about you. We were provided with two types of bread and a spread that was so good, my wife asked the chef how it was made. The chef, was not hard to find, since he took the time to talk to the people at each table. We did not order salads, but they sent us some at no charge because they did not want us waiting. I believe you can often judge a restaurant by their salad and this was first rate. All of the main courses were so tasty. We decided to split a chocolate souffle. It was amazing! I have never had a better dessert and I don't make that statement lightly. There were three of us at dinner. There should have been four, but the fourth is suffering from cancer and was not feeling well enough to go with us. We asked if the chef could come up with something that was not too spicy or rich...etc. It is hard to make something bland and tasty at the same time. When we brought the dinner home, the mom of our friend, who struggles with cancer, was lit up like a Christmas Tree. She was almost dancing, she was so happy. All of this was caused by the taste of the food. I want to thank the staff, not just for the great hospitality, the amazing food, but caring enough about someone they will never meet to bring some joy into her life. If anyone is interested, I have had this account for sometime, but this is the first time I have been inspired to to write a review. read more

We have been going to Spaggi's for a few years now and we think it is the best kept secret in the IE. all the food is very good and so is the service. Henry knows how to "Char" a steak better than any restaurant in the area. So i always ask for a steak to be cooked medium rare plus-"Charred". My wife always gets the fish and it too is always cooked to perfection. This is the place to go for date night any time you want to impress someone. The best! read more

This is an update to my original review, as I said in my restaurant review my Daughter brought us to Spaggi's because they were going to cater her wedding reception in a few weeks at a venue not far away, this review is based on the experience at her wedding reception. First off because of COVID guests are not allowed to serve themselves buffet stile they are not even allowed to touch the serving spoons or utensils, gusts could only touch there plates so Spaggi's supplied all the staff necessary and it had to be 12 or more very efficient people, chef Henri was personally on sight the whole time to oversee everything and it was perfect and I do mean perfect! As the father of the Bride I was involved in the wedding party and I didn't get to see the set up, my first sight of the food preparation was as I came to the spread after the Bride and Groom had been served, the presentation was breathtaking, every platter was a thing of beauty and a work of art, the selection seemed endless, I couldn't get a little of everything on my plate although I wanted too there was so much to choose from. That night was perfect, 100 people were served there choices of amazing items, Roasted Vegetables, Salads, Rolls and Entrees, even Lasagna, everyone got there choice any or all. Spaggi's catering isn't inexpensive but as the saying goes you get what you pay for and this event far exceeded expectations so if you truly want an epic experience use Spaggi's Catering and Thank You Chef Henri job well done! read more

I started off with the Wagyu Beef Ravioli with Black Truffles and I was very disappointed. It sounded good reading the menu but I personally didn't like it. I then ordered the Scampi Al Champagnia. The shrimp where very large and the champaign sauce was good. However the scallop potatoes were terrible. They were just thick cut potatoes with no sauce and basically plain. Worst I ever had. Their shape was the only thing that resembled scallop potatoes. The vegetables could of been cooked more also. Their "cocktails" like vodka, are not vodka. They are all fake made with various types of wine. I had a beer and it wasn't very cold. The service was good but I wouldn't go back. read more

We have been going to Spaggi's since they opened. Love the food, personal attention, and ambience. Last night we invited another couple, who had never been there, to go with us. They loved it! We started with the heirloom tomato salad which is delicate and fabulous. We all ordered different dishes. Lasagna, Spinach linguini with basil and olive oil, and penne with avocado, fresh asparagus, and sundried tomatoes . Each dish was outstanding. Dessert: chocolate covered mini pistacchio dome cake was out of this world. The service is always PERSONAL and OUTSTANDING. It was our anniversary and we were treated with an additional dessert of a beautifully presented piece of cheesecake. Love our server, Scott: he made everything perfect. This is definitely a go-to-place! read more
