Once I walked through the doors into the room my massage specialist was comforting fully explained my options and delivered a great service. The room was clean warm and inviting, the atmosphere was very relaxing. Honestly I could not have asked for more. I get facials monthly, and after ending my membership at a different spa I've been on the hunt for a new one, and I think I found it! The facilities are absolutely beautiful. Great lobby and lovely waiting room to sit in with water, snacks or wine. I had the 50 min sway facial with Samantha. Samantha was AMAZING! She was so nice and absolutely knew her stuff. She had great extraction technique and really wanted to know about my skin to tailor the facial. I like that she talked to me about options but didn't pressure me to add anything on. It's three days after my facial and my skin still feels silky smooth and I have literally only had to apply some tinted moisturizer and I'm still glowing. The biggest downside- The facial definitely ran on the short side of 50 minutes. I was on time for my 8pm facial, but wasn't taken back until at least 8:15 and was dressed and walking out by 9:04 (yes i look at clocks haha). Also, they don't do eyebrows other than tinting which makes me SO SAD! I usually like to get my eyebrows and facials done together and they stopped offering their service. They also just upped their monthly membership fee which is still $69, a good value, but I hope they don't go the way of my old spa and start raising prices twice a year. I am leaving one star because of a facial I got here that included microdermabrasion. It was part of a gift certificate I got for my anniversary. I told the esthetician several times I have very sensitive skin and she could tell. She used just a buffer on my chest and said I look sunburned. The photos I've included show the lesions I still have this morning. I went in for my service yesterday. My skin was 99% clear. None of that was there before I went in. I'm so embarrassed I want to cry as I don't typically wear makeup and now I want to crawl in a hole. Do not go here if you have sensitive skin. I can't even touch my face, especially my nose as it hurts so bad. read more

I had a groupon, and this was my first visit. I booked over the phone, yet I got a phone call days later they couldn't honor it on New Years Eve day, because it was a holiday. I would think New Years DAY was a holiday, but ok. The coupon stipulated it was M-F use, but said nothing of the sort. I rebooked online for 1/2. The location was easy to find, the waiting room was plush and beautiful. They offer complimentary wine, tea and snacks. The seating oddly set up facing away from the hallway that the therapist picks you up. My esthetician was friendly and very talkative. However she was rough with my skin, even around my eyes. Which had to be done twice because my makeup was running in my eyes from the oil cleanser. I asked her twice to be gentle, and notified her my skin is sensitive. Besides, eye skin in thin and you should be very careful. During checkout they didn't ask about my experience and focused on rebooking only. I won't be back. If I'm going someplace on the regular (which I'm looking for), the service should be better. read more

Great customer service is a huge deal to me, and when a popular business (one that is not hurting for customers) goes out of their way to provide great customer service, they deserve five stars (not to mention the amazing ten star massage). I went there for the first time a few months back, and although the massage was very good and the waiting area was beautiful (dimly lit, wine, snacks), I experienced several frustrating administrative issues. I finally got around (at least a month later) to sending an email to the manager about my issues, and she promptly responded, apologizing and inviting me for another visit so that they could make things right. My fiancé and I really enjoyed our couples' massage and found it incredibly relaxing! Though we arrived a few minutes late, we were treated with respect and still received high quality massages. I've been a sway member for the past 5 years. The monthly membership is definitely worth it for me, as there are a bunch of discounts you receive on services and treatments. It nearly pays for itself if you intend to go often. Anything you can do to 'escape' from the world and put your mental health first is a big win and I advocate massage therapy as a self-care regimen for body and soul. I highly recommend booking your service with Amber, Carlton, and Katy. I honestly cannot do them justice in this review, but they are phenomenal at what they do. What a GREAT experience! I did the signature sway 80 minute massage, the mint scalp massage and the 50 minute organic facial. The massage was the perfect mix of deep and gentle massage and all the essential oils (lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus) just enhanced the experience and made it that more relaxing! Wonderful job, Kim! The facial was my first one, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was absolutely rejuvenating and very educational! Same did a phenomenal job of explaining my skin type to me and what it was lacking. I'm so happy that I found this place when I moved to Austin! After my first massage here, I was hooked and decided to get the monthly membership. I go twice per month and it's great to be able to get a discount on additional services and add-ons. I usually get an 80 minute hot stone massage with Tricia but I've gone to other female masseuses as well. Everybody has been great! The staff at the front are incredibly friendly and the relaxation room is very tranquil. I also love that they're open late. Attention true ladies of luxury: Massage Sway should not be confused with a traditional SPA. In my humble opinion, it's nothing more than a Massage Envy, Message Heights, or other similar chain in-and-out massage type of place with a really nice coating of lipstick and mascara. Perhaps a bit harsh, but it's the first thing that popped in my mind. I had different expectations as explained below. Located in The Domain, parking can be very challenging. Walking up to the space in a small strip mall, I was very surprised when I passed from the sunny outside through the door into a very pretty, calming reception room. The staff were really friendly and the décor was inviting. After checking in I was escorted to the attached unisex waiting area. There were light snacks and refreshments available (a touch of "spa"); however, Message Sway does not have proper dressing/changing areas with the expected amentias such as fluffy robes, combs, lotions, etc. Perplexed, I inquired about changing and they stated they "typically don't provide a robe, but if I wanted one I could have one - in the very dimly lit unisex BATHROOM (yuck!) or I could just undress in the room. I chose the latter. Their service prices range from ~$95 (the 60 minute Volcanic Stone Massage that I had) to ~$275 (which is their equivalent of a "spa day" with massage, hand, facial, feet, and eye treatment). And, of course they have memberships like some of the other aforementioned places. It's not that Massage Sway was horrible. I left feeling slightly more relaxed and invigorated (the message itself was just a-ok). For me, it's simply the fact that they are charging 5-star prices (in Austin anyway) for a 2-star "experience." It wasn't until I returned to my vehicle and looked in the mirror that I discovered I had been walking around with mascara smudged under my eyes, as I could not see it when trying to "freshen up" post massage in MS's bathroom. Ugh. I am a huge advocate for supporting local businesses, especially one that is owned and operated by women (!), so I am a little sorrowful as I write this review. I have been to Massage Sway on 4 separate occasions. The first 2 were for Hydro Facial by Teagan. She did a great job and I will come back again and again to see her. I've also been for 2 massages with 2 amazing therapists. I like a deep tissue and sports massage. It's important to communicate with your massage therapist about pressure throughout the massage. If it's too deep or not enough let them know. They aren't mind readers. I've been very pleased with my experience and I am already booked next month for another massage. The front desk is very friendly. Tea, water, and wine are offered (and light snacks) No pushy sales or BS. The prices are not high and they are not low. With my 30% discount as a member I feel the prices are very fair. I do wish they had locker rooms (changing rooms) and a spa room, so I spend more time relaxing there. While living in The Domain, I had a membership with Massage Sway and it was great! Everyone I came in contact with was pleasant. The receptionists are friendly and quick to assist you when you walk in. The massage therapists work wonders on your muscles. The estheticians will leave your face absolutely radiant. Also, they offer tea, wine, infused water, and snacks while you wait. What better way to kick off a massage than with a glass of red beforehand? Everything about Massage Sway is relaxing and welcoming, and the prices included with a membership are beyond reasonable compared to other spas I have looked at. I had Sara's first appointment at 9am yesterday and was very impressed with the service. I visited recently for an 80 minute deep tissue massage from Nathaly. The facility is clean, simple (not cluttered), and staff is welcoming. All in all a good trip. The massage was relaxing. The therapist did not seem brand new, which was appreciated. I've scheduled another appointment with her and I'll update my review if there are new findings. I did not have a wait, but the waiting room did look nice as I was walking through. Delicious lemon cucumber (or similar) water is available. I filled out most paperwork in facility after my massage bc I was running late. Flexibility was appreciated! Prior to this visit I spoke on the phone with someone and purchased both a gift card and a membership over the phone. The membership begins on the following month (Jan 1), but I was able to access the membership prices early (close to half off most services) and scheduled the above mentioned massage. The person helping me was kind, informative and took payment over the phone. I was able to put the gift card funds on account and use them to pay for my discounted massage AND tip (appreciated, as I did not have cash). I've been a member for awhile now and it's been such a great all around experience. I have a difficult schedule so I really appreciate the online booking. You can request certain providers this way as well. The front desk is always very friendly and invested in you enjoying your experience; they offer wine/tea/water upon check in. The waiting area is small but very relaxing. Bathrooms are close by and very clean/spa-like. I use the membership for monthly facials. I usually add in a chemical peel or dermaplanning (love this!) or some other treatment. This is where being a member and only paying member prices for the upgrades really saves you the $$! I used to have a membership at another spa and I was paying A LOT more. The estheticians are very knowledgeable, Kristi, Lisa, Samantha, Rebecca, to name a few. Sometimes I get crazy and add on a massage (at member prices!)- I have really enjoyed Nathaly, Phoebe and my SO sees Chris for his sports massages. My SO has some injuries/issues as a result of athletics that Chris has really helped him with. The monthly facials (and of course buying the products that are recommended for me) have really changed my skin. I am headed toward the later end of my 30's and I feel like my skin is better now than it was in my late 20's! A lot of this I attribute to the chemical peels and excellent recommendations by the estheticians. I used to think peels sounded like a drastic measure, but there are all different kinds of peels. You don't come out looking like a sunburn victim or a lizard shedding its skin. I must recommend Lisa for any facial needs. She's been amazing every time I've visited. She's so friendly and very attentive to your needs. She's soft with any extractions but gets the job done and she always knows what my skin needs most. Also Kay has been my favorite massage therapist. I also never fall asleep, as most massages I ask for more pressure and focus on my areas of pain... but Kay put me to sleep! I left feeling very relaxed and my neck and upper back felt so limber. I got a signature sway massage with mint scalp massage and a signature facial with a jessner peel. I used the new client coupon and, per the front desk receptionist, checked in on Facebook for a free enhancement! I started with the massage, which felt good. My only critiques are (1) that I wished the massage therapist was more gentle when removing my hair tie and (2) that I wished the table was pre-heated -- a small gesture that goes a long way for someone who's always cold, like me. But otherwise I'd give the massage a B -- good enough, but didn't necessarily knock my socks off. The facial, which was done by Gaylynn, was amazing. She helped guide me, based on my skin type, to the best enhancement - the jessner peel - and accommodated my request to talk me through each product application. My initial experience at this spa was good, and decided to join the 'club' or membership. It's on me for joining the membership after one visit, but had several bad experiences with customer service following, and ultimately cancelled. Things you can do easily: - Provide payment -- this is something they can do very easily over the phone. The lightning speed with which they called me when I moved and they needed updated card info over the phone -- and the breezy processing of my payments. Quite literally the only part of this that wasn't a hassle. Remarkable! Things that are difficult to do: - Book appointments online --- somehow, my "membership" account, and trying to book online couldn't sync, and it was a total pain trying to book my services. - Confirm or change an appointment. If they need to make a change, I hope you're free - because it will be several emails and phone calls. - Cancel the "membership" service. Everything else can be done by phone, or online, but if you've decided that this place is too much hassle and not that great, be prepared for an in-person visit and extra month's service charge to cancel their 'membership.' In explanation of this, Gabi referenced other businesses with this practice -- which I'm not sure why that's relevant. Plenty of businesses let you cancel over the phone as well. We can each have our own opinion - and I think that your blatant money-grab policy, intentionally making this difficult to do, and charging an extra month -- is a crappy business practice, I don't care what other business does it. When I went in to cancel, and I had to sign a form. (Completely worth the trip down there, dealing with Domain traffic, etc. - note my dripping sarcasm.) That was it. Nobody tried to help me book or use my credits, explained anything - just a form and an exit fee. Would give one star - but the 2 massages I received were good. The front desk staff, and particularly the conversation I had with Gabi was abysmal. tl;dr If you like deep pressure in your massages and permanent pain relief through focus on tight and tense areas go see Ted I live with permanent dull pain in my back that I've had for years. I sit at a computer for about ten hours a day, so its to be expected that over time the muscles in my back and neck are contracted balls of knots. I received multiple deep tissue massages from Ted where he applied a deep, acute pressure to the damaged areas to reduce the pain. I'll be honest it does get a bit hurty, because essentially I think he has to go and roll out all the damaged tissue, but it is amazing and so worth it because once its done my pain is almost entirely gone! My pain was so bad I'd have to take Aleve to bring the pain down in the past but after Ted has worked out the knots, my pain is almost entirely gone for the first time in years! Absolutely LOVE coming here to relax. I've received both a facial and massage, and the experience is always topnotch. I've had memberships at other places, and this one is easily my favorite. As soon as you walk in, the receptionists are very sweet. The room where you wait before your appointment has snacks and drinks (I like the hot tea) and is dimly lit to create a very calm and soothing environment. With the massage, I love that they always pay special attention to the areas that I've specified, and the oils and lotions they use help relax my muscles. I haven't had a bad experience with anyone that I've had so far. With the facials, I'm always reluctant to get one because I always feel like I'm being told to buy something at the end. Definitely NOT the case here. I got some recommendations on types of products i should use based on my skin, and was told what products we have, but never pushed to buy something. Very disappointed. I went in for a birthday massage with the intention to de-stress and relax but I left anxious and uncomfortable. I felt like I was at a physical therapist/chiropractic office rather than a spa. The masseuse performed trigger point therapy and used his elbows to dig into my body the majority of the time. It never once felt like I was receiving a massage. I love heavy pressure BUT using elbows for the entire 90 minute 'sway signature' massage does not count. The massage also ended 10 minutes early despite showing up on time. When I mentioned this to the staff, they responded with 'Our male massage therapists tend to put too much pressure.' I've had plenty of massages in my life...many from male and female therapists. I know what a massage is and isn't. This was the worst 'massage' I've ever received. I will not be returning. read more

After being a member for over 5 years I finally had to cancel my membership. Three appointments in less than two weeks have been canceled at last minute. Interesting that they can charge their members for appointments canceled in less than 24 hours but their members are just expected to deal with the cancellations on Sway's end. Sure they want to rebook you and you take yet another day off from work for that appointment and that one gets canceled as well. They refuse to give money back for credits you can not use. I am absolutely in love with Massage Sway. They make the luxury of facials and massages very attainable and affordable. I've been a Club member since last August and it's seriously been the best thing I've ever done for myself. I usually go every other month and do a double appointment (massage and facial). I love my two girls I see. Phoebe for massage and Rebecca for facials. I've also see Tegan for facials and she is great too. I won't see anyone but Phoebe, I'll push out my appointment if she isn't available when I'm looking to go.
