I was so relaxed at the end of my 60 minute body massage that I forgot to ask my service providers name! She was great. I had many knots due to sitting in a non ergonomic way all week at work. My boyfriend and I booked an appointment here. His experience was great really didn't have a complaint (ok lying 1 minor complaint, the stones were to hot which is expected and understandable and we didn't say anything but it was lowkey hot lol). He said the women who massaged was thorough applied the right amount of pressure in all areas (including foot massage). I on the other hand, didn't really feel appreciated as a customer. My lady left the room 3xs, the pressure was not pleasant, and I did not get my foot massage. She finished the same time as the other lady that was working on my boyfriend. Like umm, you stepped out 3xs and I didn't get no foot massage. Like come on. We came as a couple we really wanted to BOTH enjoy ourselves. Shufu had skilled therapists when they were in Cedar Park. I hadn't gone since before Covid, and was in dire need of a good massage. My appointment yesterday was a joke. My therapist did small circles with one elbow, using almost no pressure, on my left hamstring for 5 minutes while browsing her phone with the other. I stopped the massage and left. The place also smelled quite musty and unpleasant. I suspect this place won't be around for long. read more

Shufu is a HIDDEN GEM!!! I live in NYC and have had all kinds of Asian massages, good and bad. This was ONE OF THE BEST. It's in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from outside, but inside it's a dream. Very clean, small but private rooms, heated beds. I specifically asked for a female masseuse. Before I am fully covered, a man knocks and proceeds to come in. I told him I asked for a woman and he told me, "Woman is busy." I feel as though I was taken advantage of because I was already undressed and in dire need of a shoulder massage. Halfway through the massage, he undid my bra stating it was for the oil massage. We went In and Spent about 5 minuets talking to them about my sister and I each getting a 30 minute foot massage. We were told to wait 20 minutes so we went and sat in the car. We went back in and was told they only could do one of us I asked why we were told to wait and she said sorry with a grin. We usually go up the street once a month to Beijing Massage for a 2 hour massage each but thought since my feet were hurting so bad we would try this place. Shufu Massage is the best massage place in Austin. Everyone is incredibly professional and considerate of what you are looking for in a massage. They are the perfect amount of communicative while also allowing you to relax and peacefully enjoy the massage. They are not pushy when it comes to adding a bunch of different services and include a lot in the packages that they offer. Since coming to Shufu, I won't be going to any other other massage place. I found this place through Groupon, and was 100% satisfied with the decision to give it a try. The place is beautifully designed inside and carries a lovely, peaceful energy from the front door to the back hallway and restroom. My massage therapist asked if there were any problem areas I wanted her to focus on, and I told her I was having pain in my shoulder and that I also have sciatica. She immediately went to work in those areas, and I mean she truly worked it out. I could tell she has a profound understanding of the muscles and nerve points, and her sense of applied pressure was amazing. She even used hot stones at the end - not sure if it was included or she went the extra step to help relieve some of those knots. All I know is, I am so glad to have had that experience. For a massage place of this style, this one is my local favorite. The foot and body combo massage is awesome and a great deal at $50 for an hour. Fair warning this is not a fancy bells and whistles spa, but the treatments are fantastic. This place is clean and friendly and much quieter than some others I've tried. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! Went for a combination massage which is 30 min body/30 min feet. Cheap but worst massage I've ever had. She scratched my feet with her long nails and called it a foot massage. My "body" portion of the massage was basically a glorified rub down. My "masseuse" had the door open the whole time, left the room to speak to other customers multiple times, took a phone call during my massage and when she hung up, PUT HER PHONE ON MY BUTT. Most unprofessional place I have ever been to. They didn't ask my name, didn't ask what I wanted, and didn't ask me to fill out any paperwork(sketchy). At the end when it was finally over she stood there and asked how much I was going to tip her, had she not I wouldn't have tipped anything. Complete waste of money. I don't know if they were even licensed and wouldn't be surprised if there was illegal activity happening behind closed doors. Don't be fooled by the other reviews and low cost, this place is a disaster. read more
