This is my second time getting a sports massage at Xin Foot Spa and it confirms my earlier conclusion about this being the best sports massage I've ever had. Hands down beats expensive massages in fancy spas. I told Wendy, my masseuse, which areas were troubling me and she got to work pummeling my muscles and elbowing my pressure points. Zero star - they need to put someone on phone who atleast understand and adhere to meaning of appointment and time management. I called several hrs before coming over on Sun. Told several times on phone (& confirmed that they have someone available for 6p). They assured that 6p is good. Got there at 5:55 and guy on front acted as he dont know anything about prior appointment. Checked on phone and said atleast 30min wait. I told him wtf. I just drove 20 min to get there and now dealing with this crap, so I walked out and not going to visit again nor recommend anyone. And btw, they changed prices again. Noe $35 combo is $40, so be aware as it eas $35 few months ago. I really like this place when Tina was working there. She is a strong lady, and always helped to get knots out of neck and upper back. I came back last week and tried a different lady. She was horrible!! I gave her 10 dollars, but she wanted more. I always give minimum 50% tips if the masseuse works extremely hard. My body needs a lot of work. The last time I was here, I received a decent massage but the ENTIRE TIME, one of the therapists took a nap next to my booth and snored loudly. The therapist working on me did nothing until I asked him to get the other therapist to stop. When my therapist came back, the snoring not only continued, but grew louder. Fine. I was hesitant on going to this place because of how hidden it was but this is by far the best deep tissue massage I received (even compared to the massages I get in Houston). Nice secluded area to get a massage. Everyone was really cordial and the price cannot be beat. The lady's were professional and used enough force for someone my size. I got 'A' off the menu which was scalp massage, foot massage, then back and legs. All told it was 1 full hour after which I wanted to just take a nap! Nice flat "beds" with face holes. I stayed covered with a towel the entire time so it was very comfortable. No need to remove all your clothing. Light music in the background and long shadows made for a very relaxing atmosphere. Due to CoVID the prices have changed. They basically have 3 package from the price list placed by the register. Ended up with the full body massage but really wanted the my feet soaked. The 2 women there didn't speak English so it basically was hand gesturing and praying that they understand me. The massage was ok... tried my best to explain what areas I wanted focusing on, but the language barrier made it hard. Overall it was ok. I would not recommend this place! first, the lady was using lotion instead of oil for most of the massage (and not enough) and it would dry out and wasn't smooth so it made my skin uncomfortable. then she would just rub her knuckles into my skin or she wouldnt use enough pressure so it felt like she was just rubbing lotion on me. She burned me with the hot stones and when I kept telling her it was too hot she laughed at me. and there were times when it seemed like she wasn't paying attention because the massage would slow down to a stop and then I'd move and she would get back to it. she was on her phone - she put it on the massage table next to my head and I could hear it buzzing. and after all of that when I left my tip she told me it wasnt enough and made me tip her more!! I have been here several times before. I always go for the 1 hr, $25 special priced massage that they offer at 10am. I always confirm on the phone that they're still offering thr $25, 1 hr, 10am massage and then I make the appointment for that one. Upon arrival, I tell them.my name and I have an appointment for the $25/1hr massage. They always show me the menu ( that doesn't show this special priced option) and ask which one. I always point to the sign that faces outward on the window and repeat that I want the $25 massage. They always try to get me to select from the more expensive menu and I insist on the $25 massage. The time before today's visit, I literally had the girl follow me out front and I read the sign to her while pointing at it. Since she was confused and couldn't find the $25 massage on their menu and pointing to the backside of the sign from inside the store wasn't helping. She couldn't figure out which massage this was and had to call someone that wasn't answering to figure it out. This went on for 20 minutes before she got a hold of the person and finally *figured it out. Why do I keep going back? It's easy to get an appointment the day of and it's a good massage for a great price. I'm not against spending more on a massage, but when I do, I go to my licensed massage therapist and get a spa quality massage in a true spa atmoshere. Here, I'm out the door for $35-40, including tip. Today, I went in for the $25, 1 hour, 10AM morning special price massage (as usual). Booked it ahead on phone, asking if they "still have the 1 hour, 10am, $25 massage". Confirmed they do and booked it. Requested a female masseuse. I told them again on arrival that I had called ahead for the 10AM $25, 1 hr special. Even pointed to their sign advertising the $25, 1 hr, 10am special. She asked if a male was okay. I repeated that I'd called ahead for the special and had requested a female masseuse The massage was and always is great for the price . The facility was pretty cold today though, so I was a bit uncomfortable. The girl did some.stuff differently and she had me remove my shirt and pants, thus making me colder. I figured that they had a new technique that they were trying out or something, as I have never been told to take my clothes off here. I told her I was cold and asked for an extra towel. I was still cold, but hey, I figured you get what you pay for. Afterwards, I tipped my masseuse $15 in cash. I then gave my card at the front to pay for the massage. They then charged my card $45! I said "It was supposed to be $25" They (3 of them, as 2 more came out) went back and forth with me for a full 5 minutes, saying that I had the full body massage and the special is just a foot massage. I've had the special several times, they massage legs, arms, back, head, face and feet. They just dont tell you to undress, they do a foot bath (hot water in a bucket -which I.would have loved, being as how cold it was) and they don't do the 2 minutes (literally) of hot stones. Oh and they don't pull the curtain closed. These were the only differences that I noticed today. I don't care what they gave me, I knew what I asked for and I had asked repeatedly, so it was fair to assume that these slight changes were just a new technique to the special.priced massage that I had confirmed I was getting 3 times. I mean, how many times can you confirm the same thing? After they tried to insist that I agreed to the full body massage and me telling them over and over that I had not and that I had called ahead and requested the "$25, 1 hr, 10 am special"and asked for it in the same manner twice more upon arrival and before they gave me back $20 (the amount overcharged for what I had asked for) I had even called the number back to let them speak to the man that I booked with, yet he said it was the full body massage. Call me crazy, but I don't think this was a miscommunication. I definitely wasn't relaxed anymore by the time that I left. If you do go here, maybe paying 1st is a good idea. I went to Xin Foot Spa because of 2 coupons advertised on their website. One for half off services for the first 3 months of their grand opening (cashier verified that they have been open for less than 3 months) and the other for a couple's massage which would include free oil and hot stone massage. Came to leave a review about their poor appointment schedules but I see many others had this issue. This place is decent for walk ins, but if you make an appointment they will most likely cancel if a walk in shows up. I have had this happen to me three times already. My girlfriend and I were weekly customers but now we are looking for a new place. Each time I made an appointment they called 20 minutes before the scheduled time to say that their worker had an emergency and had to leave. They cancelled two massages to serve a walk in. I love foot massages. My husband gives an excellent one. Sometimes, when my husband is giving a foot massage, I can tell he's distracted by the tv or something else, because he does the same repetitive motion - over and over - until his focus is broken or he remembers, 'I'm giving her a foot massage.' Xin was like that for me. That constant feeling like he/they were distracted. I got an hour foot massage - nothing fancy. About 15 mins in, I was thinking, 'Where's all the relexology pressure?' There was none to be had from guy #1. A little bit in, I peeked my eyes open to see him leaned all the way over looking at his phone placed on the ottoman between my feet. He kept taking a hand off the massage to swipe or text - whatever. It was a completely non committal and distracted massage. About 45 mins in, someone puts a towel over my eyes and all of a sudden, the pressure is *way* diffterent. Almost like it's another guy. Wait. It was. They used the towel to try to mask that they swapped guys. At first I was happy. This was a way better massage. Then a few mins later - nope. Same distraction. Same glow from a device positioned between my feet. There are way better reflexology massages in Austin. read more
