The service was friendly and professional. The manicure station had little amenities like a stool for my belongings (water bottle, glasses) and a phone holder. It's the little things that really matter, you know?Like the thought they put into it. Jessica really listened to my needs & I really like how she shaped my nails. Sophia gave me an awesome pedicure that included a nice, exfoliating massage. The spa offers many other services if you choose to pamper yourself. Thankfully it pays off to be a loyal patron of 23+yrs & counting,... During the 2020 Covid Pandemic, all businesses (self-care/ services) were closed. I normally always get the hard French UV Gel & a French Gel Pedi,... It's a small mortgage,... However, this was their 1st week open & they were booked solid for 3wks. I explained that the growth of the hard UV Gels had to come off, I had 2 nail injuries & just wanted my natural nails to get a break & I brought my own colors & strengthening polishes; to my ultimate surprise, the owner fit me in for a regular French Pedicure & a Regular French manicure which is exactly what I wanted. This place is mostly for individuals that just get mani/ pedis. For those of us who loves a acrylic or long nails. They're not really sure what they're doing. I went here for a refill and there was a lot of filing going on and I was still not satisfied with the shape. However I had one of my pinky nails that needed to be filed down and filled which the stylist used some mesh and some sort of liquid to hold it together instead of filing the lifted acrylic down which was not good. It has been a week and my nails feel really unstable. One wrong move and they're going to break. She did a gel acrylic refill over a powder refill and my pinky nail which she put the weird liquid mesh on has been throbbing for over a week. Unfortunately I had to take the mail off because I thought it was maybe broken underneath. However it wasn't. It was just hurting from the liquid she used. My finger is really in pain hoping it isn't infected by the soliton used. It wore down my nail really bad it is so tender to touch but definitely feels better after taking it off. read more

The pedicure was pretty basic and I got the sense that because I didn't upgrade to a spa pedicure, the technician didn't put a lot of effort into the experience so I definitely won't be going back for that. My legs and the bottom of my heel came out feeling so soft - feels really good! We both also did gel manicures, which were $35 each, and I love how they came out. This place will forever be my go to. I've been to a couple of other nail salons around the area but they don't compare to spa one. All the staff workers are so nice and friendly and very respectful. I don't usually make an appointment and do a walk in cause whoever I end up with, they're all great and do a fantastic job. The place is clean and all the tools they use are sanitized. This was my first and last time. The salon is filthy on so many levels: there is no air circulation or air purifiers, there is dust everywhere, it looks like layers of skin particles on the arms of the pedicure station chairs, and the nail techs did not put a plastic cover on the sink--that has been standard procedure for as long as I remember at many other nail salons. I am also surprised by the number of positive reviews: the place is beyond filthy. Now on to the pedicure--I am up this late in pain on my right foot. All the nail beds are inflamed. This had to be the worst pedicure I ever had. The tech stopped in the middle and handed me over to someone else. I noticed my toenails were square. They have not been square for years. I tell nail tech #2 to please make them round, not square. What does she do? Make them more square. I ask, and now my nails are all rigid squares, filed so low, she cannot do anything else. She thought I said to make them more square! I came in with round-shaped nails. Then after polishing, the tech asked if I wanted to leave or sit under the dryer. I sat under the dryer. Most techs will check on you and would not let you go without checking your nails and sometimes a neck massage. Neither of them even checked. I had one of the special pedicures, and I did leave a tip. I was asked for cash when earlier I confirmed I could pay credit; of course, this was with a different person at the desk. I really wanted to like this place as I stopped in the day before and met the owner/manager to ask if I needed to make an appointment for the next day, and she thanked me for coming in on the day of the dreaded service. I wanted to complain right then and there, but I would not want anyone to lose their job. My toes are in excruciating pain that I am not sure what to do at this point. I have never been in any pain after a pedicure. read more

I have been trying to find a really good nail salon for sometime now. Spa one had a lot of really good reviews, so I decided to give them a try ! As soon as I walked in all the women were extremely friendly ! The women Karen who did my nails took her time and filed and cut my cuticles perfectly, rather then drilling them and ruining my nails like other places !! My nails came out really good, and she did such a cute design!! The women who did my pedicure also did a great job as well ! Normally I feel pedicures are so rushed, but not at Spa One ! I don't get a chance to come here often because I live a bit away, but I usually wait to get my nails done until I can come here. I've gone to other places and the polish chips away immediately. I can go weeks with the same polish after I leave this place. I highly recommend. They are so sweet and patient with my toddler too when I get her nails done. read more

I walked into Spa One for eyelash service. I requested pricing for lashes. The person at the front desk moves towards the back and then waves for me to come. She points me to a lady who is sitting in the chair that is getting her hair flat ironed. I thought she was a customer. She asks me if I would like lash extensions. After replying yes, she asks if I could wait a moment. I guess she wanted to continue to be a customer and finish getting her hair flat ironed. I said I would wait. During my wait, she asks about the lashes I had on that I wanted removed. She tells me "that's not her style". I reply okay but I want the individuals (her style). She asks me where I got the lashes I was wearing put on. I tell her in New York. She asks me in Manhattan. I tell her Queens. She wants to know where in Queens. I tell her Astoria. Now, I am asking myself why so many questions. She gets up and comes over and says I can't do your lashes. I tell her thank you and I leave. I am rating this spa for their professionalism and not service since I did not have service done. I have to wonder why she could not do MY lashes. I have my own theories. I probably would have not been upset if she would have stated from the beginning. Instead, she asked me to wait and asked me everything short of social security number and date of birth, only to reject me. read more

Good nail techs except one went a little deep under my thumbnail..... Yeoooow!! But the mani pedi was affordable, they were clean, and free wifi. I'll go back. Update: 5/2016 I did return to Spa one. I thought it was a good idea. I requested one woman who did my nails previously but she kept saying no because she was at the front desk. Then after a little bit she agreed.. but then only did part of my manicure and turned me over to the laborers. The young inexperienced girl who did my nails and toes smudged everything, did not file properly, used the clippers when I said no, and also managed to rip out my cuticles til I was bleeding. I was a customer for about 4-5 years and remained a loyal customer after services began sliding downhill. I absolutely loved going to a specific employee for fill-ins because of her attention to detail and wonderful work. However, repetitive scheduling blunders, being treated poorly during an eyebrow wax appointment (having my ponytail pulled when I sat up from the table in shock of feeling that my eyebrows were now a third of what I walked in with) and finally last week when I was told the bathroom downstairs was broken when another customer was prompted to use it right after I was told it was broken. That appointment also resulted in me having unevenly shaped and bumpy nails and me having to go in the next morning to have them fixed by someone else. That appointment left me with cuts under multiple nails from the drill. I do not recommend anyone coming here. Aside from poor treatment the prices have gone up considerably since I began coming and I am mostly disappointed in myself for not finding a better place sooner. read more
