I called a few weeks in advance to book an appointment for a blowout & the process was easy since I didn't have a specific person. I had a guy (I can't remember his name) but he was great! He was very friendly and did exactly what I asked of him! For the price honestly I was shocked. It was not bad at all and not what I was used to because I have THICK hair & they charged me for a blowout around $45 which was VERY reasonable! I was mortified, but the staff there were super nice -- they provided me the correct address, assured me everything would be fine as their Milk District locations as only about 10 minutes away, and they even called the staff at age Milk District locale to let them know I would be a bit let due to my having accidentally driven to the wrong place. When I arrived at the correct location, literally 10 minutes later, the staff there was great -- they let know that I would still receive the full service and brought me over a sparkling water while the esthetician, Marissa, came over to get me. She took me to the back, where she performs the spa services. Marissa was absolutely delightful, taking the time to explain her process while also listening to my skin needs/concerns. I was happily surprised to learn she uses Eminence Organics, which I didn't even realize when I made the appointment. Eminence is my all-time favorite skincare line, so this was a major plus! I wanted maintenance and the bangs out of my eyes. But, I left with a totally different drastically shorter hairstyle that I didn't request. I even specifically told the stylist not to cut the sides since the stiffness of my hair causes it to stick out unless it's long enough to comb back. As you can see from the pic - the sides were cut and now stick-out. The pic also shows that the back is also awkwardly squared-off. So, I'm forced to find another stylist to fix what was done (which will sadly cause me to have an even shorter cut). I estimate it will take 3-4 months to grow back the damage done. My guess is that if you have very short hair that needs periodic maintenance, or, if you want that luxurious barbershop shave and men's spa vibe. This might be a great spot for you. They also have an entire section for mani/pedis that look super comfortable for dudes. So there's that too. But, I can't say it's a place where you'll get the cut you ask for.

When I arrived to the salon (again, DAYS after booking the appt), I was asked to wait to meet my stylist. I was brought back to her chair where she asked me to describe what I'd like. She proceeded to say that she did not feel comfortable cutting my hair type. While I am grateful that she did not jump in while unsure, I did find it pretty upsetting that the stylist and the salon chose to handle this embarrassing situation in front of other clients rather than calling me beforehand or even speaking with me at the front of the salon. Likewise, I have a difficult time understanding the purpose of submitting pictures in advance (which the stylist stated she saw), but then waiting until after I have driven to the salon to discuss. J. Bauman was actually in the salon while this was happening and offered no reassurance or alternative. He sat on his phone in the front of the salon while the stylist told me how "awkward" the situation was. The best that they could provide was asking me to come in a different day (mind you this haircut was for my graduation the next day.) If you have textured, curly hair, I'd be extremely wary of booking with the curly cut stylist and this salon in general. I found that EDUCE down the road was a similar price point with a much more understanding and qualified staff.

The receptionist said I had to pay another 50$ and in total it would be $160 for a fill. The original price is $85. I was going to pay double just to reschedule. It's insane especially since I was asking to reschedule not to cancel and it's a fill. Save you time and money. These people are robotic, and I'm sure they've had to reschedule an appointment in their lifetime and never had to pay double to do so.
