I called ahead to inquire about getting Gel-X nails with a French tip design and was informed that the starting price was $55, with an additional $8 for the French tip--this was confirmed over the phone. When I arrived, I was told that Gel-X was not actually available, which was disappointing but I was open to alternatives. I was offered Polygel at the same price, and I agreed to proceed. After sitting down, the technician began drilling my nails, then paused mid-process to inform me that the service would be "really expensive"--quoting $75. I explained that I had called ahead and been told a much lower price, and that my request had not changed. He then brought over the pricing menu, which did not list a specific upcharge for French tips, and attempted to justify the higher price by referencing the general gel manicure pricing of $25-$35. When I chose not to proceed due to the inconsistency and got up to leave, he lowered the price to $60. This only added to my frustration, as I had just been told $75 moments earlier. Due to the lack of clarity, professionalism, and bait-and-switch pricing, I decided to leave and went to Aruba Nails instead. * nail tech sat in booth number two * read more

My daughter and I had a good experience, nail techs were good. I made an appointment and I was seated timely. I got the pedicure with regular polish and My daughter got the gel manicure. Honestly reason for the four-star is because my daughters gel peeled off on the fourth day ( no I didn't call to get it fixed) I would still use them again though. read more

Nail tech was pushy and rude, and the overall service was uncomfortable. It felt like she didn't want to be there, and she made that very clear. She even made me feel bad for simply asking for a regular pedicure and insulted my nail length. I won't be coming back. read more

I had forgotten all about this salon and can't remember why..I called and quickly got an appointment with Bo, who told me I have used him before- sorry I didn't remember:/ because he did a really terrific job on my hands and feet. I had nails done for an event and decided to keep them longer, but wasn't happy with the place I had been before. I felt like he did exactly what I wanted and even my hubby commented on how good they looked- without a prompt from me!! I will be back Bo! Excellent work:) read more

Not going back. Tech didn't make eye contact. When I asked for her to clip my nails, she told me no, then didn't! One week later, my toes are hurting and I used the clipper on my own toes, messing up the pedicure. After the rep finished my pedicure, she walked away and never came back. It was bizarre! read more

I called as I was a regular customer of Sophia and asked what her availability could be for today. I was told 1 o'clock and booked that appointment. I came seven minutes late and they told me they could not see me because she had booked another appointment at 1:30 and she won't have enough time for her 130 appointment that wasn't even there. I had been seeing Sophia for several months now, but will no longer patronize this business due to their lack of customer service and their poor business practices. She is also maybe one of two nail techs that actually do a half good job anyway. read more

Overall I like Koi and have been going for years, but they're very pushy with add-ons. They are also sneaky about how they ask, for example I was asked if the stone massage was too hot for me and I said no, but had no idea they were pushing a $10 add on. They need to be more upfront with their customers! read more

Went here for the first time and got a pedicure. Since I went on a Monday evening, it was not busy at all. As soon as I opened the door, it was very inviting and seemed large inside. There were many chairs and TVs all around the store. I opted for one of the specialty pedicures and added on the wax paraffin to heal my calluses. The nail technician was very nice and gave me a great massage during the pedicure. The only negative about my experience was that during the leg exfoliation, it seemed almost as if the scrub was burning my legs. Not sure if it was due to the fact that I shaved my legs that morning or the scrub itself. But despite that, I will come back for other services. read more

This place was recommended for me to try from a friend that Raved soo much about it. I went with a friend for a standard pedicure and how highly disappointed we were. The massage - um there was Not one, there was no cleanser used to scrub the legs and the scrub for the bottom of the feet was minimal. We expected a good massage and there was not one. We threw away our hard earned money and will Not recommend Nor return. read more

I've been a pretty loyal customer for a year, but I'm thinking of finding a new regular place. The biggest reason I go is because I never have to wait since it's so big inside. Which is nice. But the quality of service I get changes from person to person. Last time I went, my dip manicure had a bunch of weird dots and streaks in it. I didn't complain and I even tipped, but I just want to sit back and relax and not worry if the end product isn't going to be the best. I'm also pretty big on the pedicure massage, and I can't remember the last time they gave me one that was worth the money. read more

I came in at 6:20 and was met with an attitude as soon as I walked in from the receptionist. I was coming in for a gel manicure and a pedicure, while getting my nails done from Kelly she was VERY unprofessional and hostile. Before I even sat down she rudely made it clear that she didn't want to do my service. She left my nails looking unfinished with gel polish on my arm and fingers, also leaving lint from her clothes on my nails. The vibe and energy negative and gave me a feeling on uneasiness. read more

I see a lot of mixed reviews, but I personally love Koi Nail Spa! I have been going consistently once a month since about 2016 I believe. With any establishment, there are some techs I don't prefer and others that I love. So, I am a regular of my favorite techs. They can get pretty busy, so it's always best to make an appointment (but they do take walk ins). I make an appointment with my tech of choice and always have a great experience! The spa is clean, pretty, and they play instrumental versions of popular hit songs making for a relaxing environment. If your reading this, give the place a chance! read more

So I went in for a polish change and instead of sitting me in a pedicure chair (there were SEVEN open and available throughout my visit) they sat me at the front nail station and had me put my feet on an old glove box while the girl crouched under the station and worked ‍ It sucked the whole time and I should've asked to please move but I didn't want to seem like I was being difficult read more

I started going to Koi Salon in October 2020 when I first moved to Sanford. My nail tech of choice is Hieu. I left a review on google reviews a year ago on this tech so I'm doing a new one on Yelp. Hieu is very consistent with his skill. I have had other techs help me when he's on vacation, etc. but he's the best. He's very professional, easy to talk to and you can tell he enjoys what he does and knows his trade very well. His precision is top notch. My nails are never scratchy or feel weak. It's lien chilling with a friend while getting my nails done. I highly recommend Hieu & Koi Salon. read more

I really loved my nails and they were gorgeous! The nail tech was super sweet and gave me the most beautiful shape! I unfortunately witnessed them reuse brushes and dip them back into powders. I usually do my own nails but I wanted to pamper myself and got just a regular manicure. I would say that the quality of the work was ok. I was not happy with the amount of clear coat and added another layer when I came home. The whole process felt very rushed and sort of like on a conveyor belt, communication was not the best either. Once she was done with my nails she just said thank you and left me at her station. My daughter was also getting her nails done and that lady told me to move to another area (so that I am not hogging a work station while my nails are drying) but did not say for how long to stay there. There wasn't a rest for my hands at her station while the lady getting her nails next to me had one. The cost for one simple mani is $17 which I find it to be fair. read more

My friend treated me to a pedicure and the staff was welcoming and very nice. I had a great experience coming here.

Today I visited Koi Nail Spa for the 1st time and I will be returning! I had a great experience in the service and care I received. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who scheduled me for an appointment later on that afternoon. I returned at the scheduled time and was immediately called to the back by my technician Danny. He was quiet yet very pleasant and accommodating! He did a basic pedicure and took his time he was gentle and very meticulous. He did my dip manicure as well which turned out PERFECT! For those who have experienced a bad nail dip we know it takes someone with experience to do the job right and Danny did just that! My nails turned out smooth, the cuticles are amazing and overall he shaped them just as I asked! I have already booked my next appointment, I look forward in having Danny do my nails again! I have been going to Koi for years. The last time I went and had french done with the dip powder. I was charged extra because it was two colors. That seemed odd because nobody has ever charged me for two colors but I figured it was no big deal. My daughter had her nails done there by a different person the same day and also did two colors and wasn't charged extra. About two weeks into my nails they started cracking and had the appearance of cracked China if you looked close. Again I dealt with it and didn't think much of it. I ended up removing them by soaking them off the way they do at the salon but they simply wouldn't budge. It took forever which also seemed odd. Underneath my nails were destroyed which is not supposed to happen with the dip. Again I didn't complain. I just decided to give my nails a rest and figured I'd go back and have them redone down the road. Fast forward a couple of days I get a call from my daughter who went back to Koi to get her dip nails done again. This time she had the same technician I had when my nails cracked. In a weeks time two of her nails shattered and broke and the others were cracking like mine did. She worked consecutive 12 hour days over a weekend and called Koi the first thing the next morning and explained the problem. They told her she was too late. Then they told her she could come get them redone but had to go to the same technician. Which happened to be the technician I had previously as well. When she got there for her appointment they made her sit nearly 30 minutes and were very rude to her. The technician said he was going to charge her for mail tips where the nails broke because it was her nails fault that they broke. The technician was rude to her and only fixed 4 of the nails. It was a very unprofessional handling of the situation and I am disappointed to say the least. read more

I got the most expensive pedicure and she went through it so fast that she completely forgot to do my right foot, didn't file them or clean them up, my toe nails are all slanted, didn't remove any of the dead skin or cuticles. I couldn't enjoy it because she went through it so fast. The polish looks thrown on and she didn't even clean them up. It definitely was not worth $85 :( read more

Did the $58 pedicure with Mary on Sunday October 17, 2021at 11:00am, by Monday polish is chipped on one toe on each foot. I only wear sandals. Called Tuesday to have it fixed and only Mary can fix it and of course she is off. They have a policy that only the person who did your polish can fix it. This is so stupid! Take my money for mediocre service. The pedicure was good, but the polish is chipping. I fly out for a wedding and can only go today. Not very satisfied. read more

I have been trying different nail salons in the area with mixed results after moving here (mostly not very good) Koi seemed to have several good reviews on Next Door and this site so I gave it a try this afternoon. Estrella was helpful and pleasant over the phone as I was unable to commit to a specific appt. time. I was calling to see if they were busy as I would be a walk-in within the next hour or so. When I arrived, I was treated with a smiling face (sorry I didn't get her name, long brown hair) and a cheery welcome. Lily was my nail technician. As another reviewer mentioned, she is very sweet, polite, and GENTLE. Although she doesn't speak English well yet, I had no problem communicating w. a little assistance from other technicians (a sign of a good working atmosphere, which makes the entire experience enjoyable). Lily did an impeccable job with my pedicure and took a lot of care with the polish (a dark color that can show all mistakes). The result was better than 4 other salons I have been to in the area in the recent past!! I didn't have time for a manicure but will be returning for both a mani and pedi and will request Lily. I am happy to have found a location so close and finally a decent, clean, calm and efficient, organized environment. Since I have only been here once, I have only one experience to go by, but would definitely recommend you give them a try! read more
