I've been coming to this nail salon for a while, but after my recent experience, I won't be returning. The customer service is consistently disappointing. Every time I politely ask for something to be fixed or for my toes to be cleaned up a little better, I'm met with attitude instead of professionalism. When you're paying around $100 for a service, you should expect quality work and respectful treatment. To make matters worse, they charge extra just to remove old polish. Even after all that, the pedicure wasn't well done, and I left unhappy with how my nails looked. I'm very disappointed with both the service and the overall experience. I would recommend looking for another salon where customers are treated with kindness and the quality of the work matches the price. I've been coming here for awhile and it's always been great. I used a different tech because my previous tech no longer worked there. The back of the nail started lifting on day 8 and started catching my hair during a shower. I called and their receptionist told me I would have to pay for a repair because it's been more then a week. They have lots of pedicure options - I did the Zesty pedicure as my sweet boyfriend gave me a gift card. This was super nice with lemon, oils, a scrub callus removal and lotion. They had a hot towel and massage at the end which is nice too. Definitely recommend this upgraded pedicure if you want extra pampering. The pedicure itself is perfect as well! I went in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure and it looked like a nice place if cramped. I wanted a french manicure using 3 different greens but Dawn, the technician I got, refused to use multiple colors and then tried to make me choose a different color several times, never saying anything besides "no" and just showing me other bottles. the pedicure was fine and is holding up ok. the manicure was uneven with marks and scuffs and now, 3 days later, half of my nails have lifting polish that is catching on hair and trapping moisture. The last place I went my gel manicure lasted almost 4 weeks with not a single chip or issue so this is very disappointing. I will not be going back. read more

After countless amazing visits to SoDo Nail Lash Bar, I may be in the market for a new place to get my nails done after the worst pedicure I have ever had. I didn't have an appointment today and was just passing through the area after a facial and thought I'd stop by and see if they had any walk in availability. I wish they would have just told me they were too busy and to come back another day, instead they made it seem like it wasn't an issue at all and I sat in the pedicure seat. The girl that did my pedicure made it clear that they didn't have time to do my nails today. I came in around 12:45 and my pedicure was rushed through and finished by 1pm. She reiterated it that she had an appointment with someone at 1pm. This would have made sense if I had chosen the express pedicure, but I chose the classic pedicure. There was no callous removal, no massage, none of the extra things I paid the up charge for. I'm just thankful I didn't do their cucumber pedicure like I normally do. There was no hospitality, and I felt very looked down on for not having an appointment. Manicure was amazing. Kev is awesome! It was a complete 360 from the pedicure. My fingers look beautiful and he took the time to do a fantastic job! Normally for dip powder and a pedicure, there is a combo for $70, however they charged me $85 for both. I was charged the full price of a classic pedicure that lasted under 20 minutes and honestly looks horrible and needs to be redone. If you come here, make an appointment and don't try to be a walk in. I learned my lesson today! Also, ask for Kev or for Diem, because otherwise you are taking a gamble for someone that could care less. read more

My favorite spot to get a mani/pedi in Orlando! I don't really have a "regular" nail tech, mostly because everyone I've tried here is consistent in doing a terrific job. Kyle did my pedicure and dip manicure yesterday and I would highly recommend him. He does an amazing job, he's professional, friendly and quick at what he does but doesn't sacrifice quality for speed. My nail shape turned out exactly the way I wanted and the pedicure was really enjoyable & relaxing. The space inside is always tidy and gives off a clean appearance. Some nail salons can seem a bit run down, but everything looks up to date and modern here, plus they have epic massage chairs to utilize while you're enjoying your pedicure. They allow you to add tip when you use a credit card and many of the nail techs have the option to tip them with the Venmo app. If you're in the mood for wine, they have complimentary wine and also provide water. I've tried quite a few nail salons in the area and always end up back here since it's very hard to beat. It pretty much has everything you could ask for! read more

I booked an appointment online for 2:15. Since this was my first time here I did not request a specific technician. I needed a pedicure since I had not been able to get one since December due to knee replacement surgery. Needless to say my toes were kind of a mess. I arrived a little early but was greeted and seated promptly. Susy did a great job on my feet. I got the Volcano Pedicure. Susy was careful and gentle due to my not being fully healed from my surgery. I felt confident that she would do a good job and she did. The salon was busy but felt calm. Thanks Susy! Unfortunately I keep updating my review each time I visit, and I have decided that this may be my last time here. The first time I came here, I was pleased with the service and the fact that they took me very shortly after my scheduled appointment was for. Every time thereafter, I was increasingly disappointed. This time I came and I had an appointment at 11, and they had about 10 different techs start to work on others with appointments at 11 but they didn't start on me then. They asked me to sit in a pedicure chair. I sat down, and about 15 minutes later, the receptionist came over to me and told me that my tech was running a few minutes late. I understand, things happen, but I wish that she could've given me some type of idea of how long I would be waiting to start my service. I sat there waiting for them to start my service for 30 minutes, after which time the receptionist came up to me and said that I would not be seen for another 30 minutes at least. I am extremely disappointed in this nail salon, I would not recommend coming here, unless you've got your entire day to spend waiting to be seen, despite having an appointment. Im sad that I've made appointments here multiple times and they tend to not be able to start my service for at least 30 minutes (and up to an hour!) after my appointment is scheduled for. At that point, I'm not sure what the point is or making an appointment. I wish they'd add a disclaimer when making an appointment that you may not be seen until at least 30 minutes or more after your scheduled appointment time. Very disappointing. My sweet friend gave me a gift card to Sodo for my birthday. She insisted we spend Sunday afternoon there as that's the day they serve Mimosas, yes!!! We scheduled manicures and pedicures and my friend insisted I see Gwen, one of the owners, who btw is DELIGHTFUL!l! In fact all the staff there are warm, friendly and welcoming. Gwen did an amazing job on my pedicure then showed her perfectionist tendencies in executing my stunning gel manicure. I had selected a very bright tomato red for my toes but Gwen decided I needed a more delicate shade on my nails- definitely the best shade to compliment my skin tone. She is so very talented with color and details! I cannot wait to return. Sodo didn't have the chemical odors one usually finds at a nail salon and the courteous staff and owners made our afternoon relaxing and fun! I didn't expect her to have a fake smile on her face, but her tone and manner was really odd and disrespectful. That's really not a huge deal, so I entered nevertheless. She escorted me towards the back, where I took a seat to have my pedicure. The lady who treated my feet was really rough, and she never adjusted the water temperature despite my protests that it was too hot. I was cut several times, and she dug forcefully and severely into my toes. The chair I sat in was similarly sticky and discolored, and it wasn't clean. I decided to give this place another go since the first time I walked in a few months ago they were quick and great... today however, I didn't have a great experience. I spent $80 on dip nails with an almond shape tip. When I left and looked at them up close, every single nail has a flaw. They are thick, lumpy, and have air bubbles. I am very unhappy with my nails and paid a lot of money for them. Also, they have a huge sign right when you walk in that says no refunds They must have gotten a lot of refund requests to have to actually post a sign. I've been living on a different side of town but recently moved back and needed a pedicure. I felt confident booking an appointment here as it used to be my go to and they've always just been outstanding. Something has changed. My appointment was at 130, I arrived around 125 and was told to sit in any empty chair. I found one and the bowl had like lemon seeds in the drain. They put a liner in for service but yeah not a great start. The floors looked dirty. But hey I've been here a bunch I'm willing to forgive midday floor debris. I sat there until 150 and finally someone came to me. I was getting a gel pedicure and explained there was probably residual gel left from a previous gel pedicure I tried my best to remove. My big toes were put through the ringer. Filed roughly, dug under and cut to the point one of them started to bleed. When that happened I really started to get concerned about the cleanliness but what am I supposed to do? Just walk out? That is not who I am (wish I was that assertive) and my dog just died and I was trying to have a little self care out of the house for a change of scenery. The tech was nice and my toes do look nice but the rough approach was not appreciated. Also, the lamp used to cured my gel pedicure was filthy. I don't know how it is ok to be using equipment that is in that condition. I will not be coming back. To me if it worth it to drive back to the other side of town. read more

OK so let's talk about my experience at SoDo... First let's start with some pro tips: 1. Check their Instagram and choose your stylist 2. Schedule your appointment in ADVANCE. If you walk in they will rush your service. At least the manicure will be rushed. This is their #1 service 3. Wear a mask. It's a small place and desks are close to one another. This is for everyone's safety I will say that the place is cute and I am overjoyed with how my pedicure turned out. Ky was my pedicurist and he did a phenomenal job. I had a the classic service and the way he was rubbing on my FEET! I fell in love! Definitely coming back for that. Now for my nails, I came in for a repair and new design. I really should have gotten a new set but there wasn't enough time for that. Bella did a great job repairing my nail and following the design. If she wasn't pressed for time, I think the details in my design would have been better. In summary it's a great place, they're pretty busy so I'd recommend planning in advance. They automatically add the tip to your service (I didn't know that until I read my receipt) so be aware of that. My total came up to $115 for everything which is a lot more than I was expecting for a repair and design. I would come back for Ky tho! read more

I enjoy coming to SODO Nail to get my initial acrylic full set but every time after that, I'm just paying the same price for a fill that I did for a full set when online it's advertised as $40. My nails grow very quick and I sometimes get charged for a cut down and sometimes I don't. And then you realize you should really do something about that? That's what happened today. It's only when I get to that point that I go get a pedicure. I have tried a few spots for my pedicures - they've all been well and fine, but never anything to really rave about. I had been reading the reviews and decided to stop in. They're following very great guidelines for COVID by asking guests to wear masks for the safety of their staff and others, which was a bonus for me. I decided to upgrade and get a Zesty Spa Pedicure with gel. This was probably the best decision i've made in a while. I've been long overdue for a mani/pedi, and finally found myself with a bit of free time this weekend. Then I realized it's a holiday weekend and everywhere is probably super busy with others trying to get cute for Xmas. I actually called one spot, and stopped in at another only to be told they were both at capacity. I resigned myself to just go grocery shopping when I spotted Sodo Nails and Lash bar....and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in. Even more surprising, I only had to wait maybe 3 minutes for someone to start working on me. Steven was super focused and seemed to take his time to get things perfect, instead rushing through what was the last job of the day. I appreciate that they bring the colors for you to pick instead of the old school pick your polish from the wall. I opted for the exfoliating pedi, and the fresh lemons used as part of the scrub smelled and felt so good. I like that the tools used came from a new package and I was offered a choice of something to drink. (I've seen others be served drinks and none offered to me at other places cough Nail Spaz cough cough). The attention to detail carried over the manicure, where I noticed that he double checked each nail to make sure it met his standards. Overall a great experience. Pricing is a little on the higher side, but not outrageous for the location. I absolutely recommend this nail spa, and Steven if you are lucky enough to be assigned to him. I often come here for an acrylic set and they are usually amazing and last me a full month but I decided to get my nails done this past wednesday and the nail tech used colored acrylic for the base without asking me so I am unable to get a fill and am now forced to pay for another full set if i do choose to return. She was also very aggressive with the nails drill and cut my cuticles to the point where blood was coming out twice. As I said my nails always last me a full month, but this is 4 days past my appointment and so far 3 of my nails are 1/2 way off my actual nails already, i glued one down already and since then 2 more have come loose. for 80$ plus a tip this is not acceptable. at this rate I will have to get my nails done again this week. Had a wonderful experience yesterday (5/28/20)! Kensington was my nail tech and took absolute great care of me. Obviously it's been quite some time since I've had any nail services. Kensington did not rush and was very personable & friendly. Very good conversationalist but also took cues as to when I wanted to just relax a bit. He also did a fabulous job on both my hands & feet. The chair massage during my pedicure was AMAZING! The shop itself is sleek & posh inside. As soon as I walked in I was greeted & my appointment was confirmed. I was asked to wash my hands & sign the consent form. I was taken to my pedicure chair to begin my services. Everyone in the building had on PPEs and were spaced apart (unless you came as a couple) to ensure social distancing is practiced. I expected to have a longer wait time based on another review but that was not the case. And if they are running behind I overheard them trying to call & inform the client. This was a last minute pedicure, so I didn't really need a whole spa session, just some basic TLC and a color. I walked in around 9:30am on a Friday morning, which I always recommend for any salon, not as crowded and the techs are not as tired. I got a classic pedicure, which includes basic basic grooming (cuticle cut, scrub and hot towel treatment) and a color. Overall, I would give this place 4 stars, a mostly great session, but just areas that could use small improvement. I'll start with the good: They were very clean - brand new / sanitized tools every time and they put plastic on the foot tub. My nail tech was professional and precise - my nail shape was perfect and exactly what I asked for, he was perfectly thorough with the grooming, and the paint job was crisp. I believe they offer wine, but I didn't ask since it was 9 in the morning. The inside is spacious, perfect to meet their demand. Some areas for improvement, which are not detrimental but things I look for in a salon: They could totally expand their color options, the variety was not large enough, all of their options fit on one ring. I might consider going to another salon for better options. The makeshift sandals they give did not function properly, the strap laid too high on the toes. I didn't even take a step and my toes were ruined, I had to get them repainted. There didn't seem to be a polish drying station unless you were also getting manicure, which I was not. I was trying to get to the one empty manicure station so I can dry them quickly, since I was in a rush, but then my toes got ruined as soon as I stood up. So after they repainted them, I decided to wait it out in the pedicure chair to prevent damaging them again. Investing in mobile drying or polish hardening machines and different sandals might be better, but again not a huge deal. For a walk-in, basic pedicure session, it was satisfactory, I can't speak for a full on girls day spa treatment. Everyone around me seemed to be very satisfied with their sessions, and have been returning customers for a while. So this place is a green light for me. read more

I came in Friday evening for a gel manicure. By Sunday morning, half of the polish on my thumb had lifted and peeled off. I came back in Sunday to fix that nail, which the same tech kindly fixed quickly with no charge. However, on Sunday night half of the polish on my middle finger had also lifted off, and the tip of my index finger is already chipped. I can usually get a good 2 weeks out of a gel mani, but this hasn't lasted even 2 full days. While I'm sure they'd fix it if I went back in - I really hesitate to go back in for the third time for a single manicure. read more
