The place smells straight like chemicals. In the front there's only one guy doing nails, then as you get further in or to the other door there's more techs. The place is dirty- dust, debris, nails all on the counter. Standard file, soak, file soak. Took maybe 20mins. After she filed, buffed, and clipped my cuticles. She never instructed me to wash my hands from all the acetone soak, or nail debris just put cuticle oil on top of all that. Then had the audacity to charge $35. I said fine because I needed those nails off but really. I don't mind paying $35 if you had me wash that stuff off my hand, warm towels, cuticle oil, then hand massage with lotion (like the good old days). Then I would have been like ok it's about the experience. Only positive was the tech was nice- but really that's a bare minimum. read more

Awesome little nail salon right in the heart of Avalon Park. I was a walk-in on a Tuesday afternoon and they were able to take me right away for a manicure. Lots of colors to choose from! I decided on the gel powder dip because of how long it lasts. The nail tech did a great job shaping my nails and trimming my cuticles too. He was very kind and had great attention to detail. The salon was taking safety seriously and had plastic partitions set up between the clients and nail techs, and masks were required. So we've been a loyal customer - husband, daughter and me. Daughter had a 3 pm appt and I had a 4:30. I picked up my daughter at 4:05 and they advised they were running on time. They were very nice. However i asked for coffin shape, and was given square, the lengths are all uneven different lengths. They're so raised up and blocky they're getting caught on things. The only thing right was the coloring. I know everyone has their issues with every nail salon, however not a single thing i wanted was actually done. And i never get my nails done so this was a treat yourself day, only for me to realize after i left and paid a lot of money, that almost everything was wrong. So I went to this shop prior to management changed and did not like it. Once it went under new management I gave it another try, it was much better but still have areas that can use improvement. On my first visit since the change everything went well with my powder nails and pedicure, the only thing is when I tipped 15% the lady asked me what about the tip for the person who did my hands. SMH. On another visit, I went to get my dip and pedicure done for my vow renewal, and I got home an realized my top coat on my powder (dip) nails had uneven layers which did not look good. I unfortunately did not have time to go back and try to get them fixed but I do feel this should have been seen and fixed my the nail tech during my visit. Came to this salon after trying so many in the area. Walked in and was a bit underwhelmed by the looks of the interior, but the staff had no wait and welcomed me in. I noticed there were no liners nor did my person use any gloves. Their gel options were limited and so I chose one after a long debate with myself. I did have to ask them to cut my nails a certain way and they barely scrubbed the bottom of my feet. I wear heels on a daily basis and have one spot that needs a little TLC. It didn't get it. Moving into the nail area now, there is no massage with a gel mani. Very surprising to me, since a gel polish is more expensive than a plain mani. They did not file the nails after they cured in the light, so I left with jagged nails. They didn't offer any water or anything, I don't even know the name of the person that did my nails. I asked for a design, it was a $5 extra, it was so ridiculous how it came out, but they did try. I would not go back because I look for more than what they offered, but if you don't want frills, then it is ok. read more

I went here today for the first time and I thought the place was dead, but as soon as I sat down the whole place was filled. I received a french mani/pedi for $35. This special runs Monday through Thursday. It was a great deal and only took about 45 minutes. It's located right by the Publix in Avalon so it's convenient. I'd like to start by mentioning that I'm updating my original review. This has always been a solid 4 star place until my last two trips. My first bad experience I thought maybe I caught them on an "off" day but after my trip today I'm done. I visited for a gel manicure a few weeks ago and it consisted of terribly uneven cutting/shaping and multiple fingers missing entire strips of paint. I realized this soon after leaving but I decided I could live with it and would have to as I was on my way out of the country for two weeks. Snap to today when I go in for a much needed pedicure. I'm not sure if the man doing it was new or just woke up but I'm certain my cat could have done a better job. From not fixing my cuticles to incredibly uneven cutting/shaping to the worst paint job I've seen, I can't determine what was worse. Once I inspected the job when I got home I immediately got my nail polish remover and nail clippers, I completely re-did my toes. If I wanted it to look like a 5 year old did it, I would have done it to begin with. And if I wanted to waste a hard earned $20 plus tip I would have went and spent it on the latest As Seen On TV product I could get my hands on. This is the worst place I have ever been to. Ever. I had to get a full set done for myself and my daughter and I live in Avalon. I chose them because they were more economical and located near us, but what a mistake. I don't remember his name but the man who works there did my nails. I stressed that I wanted them natural looking, no color. So he not only did them with a ridiculous pink color and white tips (looks like my nails were almost purple-ish) but he snapped at me once when I stopped him after the first nail telling him that I didn't think that was what I wanted. He said "JEEZ, you haven't even let me finish!". Well I did and I'm convinced the man has never had training. The acrylic was so thick and chunky that I was completely embarrassed to be seen with them. The white tips he added were a different thickness than the rest and it was all uneven. I felt like I was wearing olives at the end of my fingers, it was just a huge pile of uneven acrylic. Had my daughter not been with me (her nails were at least decent, done by a woman) I would have had them soak them off and left without paying. I ended up going over to In Style and while they are twice the price, she managed to take these horrible BLOBS at the end of my fingers and transform them into what looks like a profession REAL, NATURAL looking nail. It was painful as she had to really file down what they had done. She just kept saying WOW, she should have taken a before and after picture. I tell my children all the time that you get what you pay for and shame on me, I didn't follow my own advice. I will stick with In Style because although they are more expensive, they take the time to get to know what you want, they know what they are doing, they don't talk in other languages in front of you and they don't rush you out the door. Horrible place. Never go here. I got there end of day and they said they have time for me. They rushed me and cut my toe nail too short and unfelt it as they did it. It resulted in an ingrown toenail that I had to deal with on vacation. It ruined my whole vacation. My toe was swollen and purple. I couldn't walk. I had to go to doctor when I got back in town and now have to go to foot doctor for a surgery to remove it. The doctor said it was due to a bad pedicure. Don't go here.
