Lovely atmosphere and amiable staff. But I simply did not get the haircut I requested. I went in with medium/long hair asking for a simple trim of an inch off the back and another inch off of the top. I wanted maintenance and the bangs out of my eyes. But, I left with a totally different drastically shorter hairstyle that I didn't request. I even specifically told the stylist not to cut the sides since the stiffness of my hair causes it to stick out unless it's long enough to comb back. As you can see from the pic - the sides were cut and now stick-out. The pic also shows that the back is also awkwardly squared-off. So, I'm forced to find another stylist to fix what was done (which will sadly cause me to have an even shorter cut). I estimate it will take 3-4 months to grow back the damage done. My guess is that if you have very short hair that needs periodic maintenance, or, if you want that luxurious barbershop shave and men's spa vibe. This might be a great spot for you. They also have an entire section for mani/pedis that look super comfortable for dudes. So there's that too. But, I can't say it's a place where you'll get the cut you ask for. read more

Just wow, was I surprised at what this new store is! A luxury men's salon! I didn't even know there was such a thing! I was enamored by the chic design upon entering. You just want to plant yourself at the BAR, yes, a premium alcohol bar in a hair and nail salon! I sat down and had a coffee while speaking to the owner Sue. Sue showed me around this amazing salon. Sue and her sister are the owner/operators. I love seeing a family run business. She explained all the services and the membership options. I couldn't wait to give her my card and text my Mr. to tell him I had a surprise for him! I signed him up for the Classic Club membership but already told them to upgrade him to the VIP once he is there for his first visit. I think unless you are there it's hard to understand this is a luxurious experience not just a service. This truly is a place you must see to fully appreciate. My Mr. is the first to tell me to get my hair and nails done, go get a massage, etc to feel my best. Finding a Luxury Men's Barber Shop / Grooming Studio in an upscale location, ( Windermere which is on the Dr Phillips side) minutes from home is a fabulous find! My first time experience started with using their app to schedule an appt (no need to call!). On the day of, I went early and the amazing owners gave me a nice tour and intro to the whole concept. My stylist, Angel, was super nice, took time to understand my hair and what I usually get. The haircut comes with a wet towel massage, shampoo, and conditioning. After 45 min, loved the fresh new look! I also bundled a pedicure - my first ever. Kylie was amazing! She clearly had been doing it for a while, and was also a delight to talk to! I've only used their barber services so far but every single barber here is great and has their license hanging up near their station so you know they're legit. The vibe is very relaxing and they have different rooms for different services. I've gone with both Justin and Natalie based on availability and it could not have possibly gone better. I have been waiting SO LONG for a place like this! Whoever dreamt the idea for this place is a genius! This place is a subscription based club (subscription not required) and I feel like that's exactly how getting your hair/treatment should be. The reason why is because as a man you don't prioritize a facial or a manicure or a pedicure over your haircut or a lot of other things. But because these services are offered at the same place (or even the same time) and because your subscription includes any 2 services per every month (unused credits roll into the next month which was a big selling point for me because I travel a lot for work) it incentivizes and entices a lot guys to actually try a facial or try a manicure or pedicure when they never would have before. Say you're growing your hair out like me, and you don't necessarily need a haircut every month. Because my credits can be saved up, if there's a time that I skip a haircut because I don't need one then that automatically gets me excited for any other one of their services they offer. This is really good because a lot of men neglect their hair skin and nail health. More men should care about these things, and this place is perfect to get those things started for you. All the stylists are amazing, the whole staff is super skilled AND super friendly and kind. Those are the only things I care about when it comes to good service and they hit the nail right on the head in that department (no pun intended). When you walk in you are immediately greeted and ushered over to the bar where they make you any complimentary drink you'd like. Just another brilliant thing they do to help you to relax. Take a second and enjoy your treatment. Everyone loves feeling good about the way they look and feel. Men AND women. You *usually* (I'm different) won't catch a straight man in an Asian nail salon getting a mani pedi or any sort of facials because it's not "manly". This place not only will set you up with a really nice cut, but they also do ALL the services (in one sitting if you want) that your girlfriend or wife gets at her salon. Hammer & Nails is hands down the BEST place to go to get all the treatment you want/need all in one place, at a good price, without feeling weird about being the only man in a salon only women go to. TO THE PEOPLE WHO GET A LINEUP TWICE A WEEK OR LESS: You guys spend so much money on haircuts. There's people out there who go to their barber that they have gone to for years and they spend $100 or more every time they get a cut. There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't try hammer and nails because they also offer even more premium subscriptions for the people who *already* spend a lot of $$$ getting hair skin and nail treatments. Their most expensive subscription is like $500 a month, which seems pricey at first until you realize that includes unlimited of any treatment you want, some of their treatments cost $250 for just one time. (Don't fret, there's affordable treatments too! These are just the really fancy ones!) It also includes a guest pass for any one of your friends to come in and get some service done too.
