John was very personable and seemed like an all-around, genuinely nice guy. He also did a great job with cutting my hair. I told him what I like and what my previous stylist used to do. But I simply did not get the haircut I requested…read more I went in with medium/long hair asking for a simple trim of an inch off the back and another inch off of the top. I wanted maintenance and the bangs out of my eyes. But, I left with a totally different drastically shorter hairstyle that I didn't request. I even specifically told the stylist not to cut the sides since the stiffness of my hair causes it to stick out unless it's long enough to comb back. As you can see from the pic - the sides were cut and now stick-out. The pic also shows that the back is also awkwardly squared-off. So, I'm forced to find another stylist to fix what was done (which will sadly cause me to have an even shorter cut). I estimate it will take 3-4 months to grow back the damage done. My guess is that if you have very short hair that needs periodic maintenance, or, if you want that luxurious barbershop shave and men's spa vibe. This might be a great spot for you. They also have an entire section for mani/pedis that look super comfortable for dudes. So there's that too. But, I can't say it's a place where you'll get the cut you ask for.

The location is a small shopping center off old goldenrod. The parking is busy but had great accessibility with multiple wheelchair ramps and ample space. "Styles or Life" is a legit barber shop. When I came in the place was hopping busy. The manager/ owner I assume was the guy who greeted me and introduced me to the barber who would be working with me. With no appointment and an obvious busy shop they were able to fit me in promptly and without skipping a beat. The barber was very friendly and professional. After getting all setup he used a straight razor and gave me an awesome beard shape-up and shave. It looked legit fresh and was so inexpensive. He worked around me in my wheelchair because I'm not able to transfer and never skipped a beat moving around he while providing quality work. I'll definitely be returning and I would highly recommend these guys for anyone looking for a fresh cut, shave, etc. Real talented professionals at an affordable cost.
