Tacos are awesome, the peanut sauce is amazing and the chicken sliders are huge . However their menu can be a little improved, limited menu.

I've come here twice now. The garlic noodles and chicken thigh combo and it is a hefty and flavorful meal so worth the price! The fried chicken sandwhich is so good. If they offered a spicy version I'd be all over it! Great food! read more

This fulfilled a craving I didn't even know I had! Loved every bite and it was definitely worth the 1 hour drive.

Delicious. Perfect. Maybe the best food in Berkeley. Dwight and MLK is a great and accessible location. I particularly love the Combo Thai Pork with a Diet Coke. I also like the wings and garlic noodles although my stomach is not up to it anymore (I always eat the whole thing even though it serves like 3 people). They are quick(ish) and polite. Pretty pricey but you just can't beat that burn in your belly. read more

I wanted to get a good one in at Southside Station. I hadn't been to Berkeley in over a year and found myself not far off and with an appetite for fried chicken. I parked not far from campus and made the trek over to Shattuck to check this place out. I sort of regret that I had. Sometimes the journey really is more rewarding than the destination. I want to begin by saying that the service here is really great. The guy who rung me up and the lady who gave me my food were both super friendly. There is also a fairly neat little area setup only a few meters from where you order, that has some decent shading and is a great place to hang out while you wait. I ordered the combo with the fried chicken sandwich, curly fries, and a soda, which for about $15 wasn't a bad deal at all. I got my order in under 10 minutes and was on my way to enjoy it with a beer not far from here. The curly fries were delicious. Really crispy and tasty. I super enjoyed them. I found that many of the pieces were quite small, but that isn't a bad thing necessarily. The sandwich, however, was a huge disappointment for me. I have heard this place's fried chicken sandwich mentioned in same sentence as World Famous Hotboys, The Bird, and Love Burn. Now, I haven't met anyone who claims it is as good, or better. But I have to be honest here, it really isn't even in the conversation. The sandwiches at all of those places (and a few more that come to mind) are in a completely different league. I enjoyed the pickled veg that comes on it. It is a nice way to cut through the super savory chicken, brioche bun, and sauce. But the chicken, which is supposed to be the hero, is just huge. Which isn't a bad thing on its own, but this thing was THICK. And really, really dry. I loved the breading on the sandwich, and the bun was also pretty good. But the chicken was just so disappointing for me that it really ruined the entire experience. I ended up throwing away about half of it and just getting some finger foods at The Rare Barrel instead. It is possible that I got a bad sandwich. It is possible that I set the bar way too high, and Southside was destined to fail due to my lofty expectations. But in an area where there are so many remarkable places making really great fried chicken, and in a town where there are so many must-eat-at restaurants, I am not sure that I would wander back down to Southside for a do-over. I believe that they deserve one. But there are other places I need to see before making the journey again. It really is too bad, that. read more

Chicken is fire. I get why people talk about the sandwich, but it's not my cup of tea. The thighs, or wings with garlic noodles are it for me. The thighs come with that smack sauce. If you know, you know. read more

The chicken is so good. And the chicken sandwich is a monster! The nuggets are awesome as well. The rice, we'll it tastes like plain rice regardless of the colorful things you see. I still love this place; it's great bang for yourbuck, and you're definitely going to be full. read more

What a great place. I love chicken sandwiches and you're hard pressed to find any better in the Bay Area than this place. Interestingly, I do not like cold slaw but I have to say the slaw they have here is pretty good. This place is popular so there's always a crowd but the service is pretty good and there's always room. Their fries are great too, I could just eat those and be satisfied, lol. read more

I wasn't hungry at all, but I had to order Southside Station's popular fried chicken sandwich, garlic noodles and Thai ground pork grapow pizza, because I couldn't resist trying out their Thai-influenced meals for the first time. I had heard that Southside Station got voted 19# on Yelp's best chicken sandwich in all of California, so ordering that was a no-brainer. I love me a good fried chicken sandwich, so I had high expectations for this one, and they didn't disappoint! I loved the pickled papaya salad-slaw with creamy sriracha that gave it the signature Thai flavor. The ensemble of flavors really make this sandwich a winner. Try it and you'll see why they're #19 in all of California. The garlic noodles were fantastic as well. It had the right balance of garlic and seasoning to make the noodles pop with full flavor. Lastly, the Thai ground pork grapow pizza was absolutely delicious! It makes total sense to have Thai ground pork on pizza. It's one of those "why didn't I think of that" idea. The food is simply awesome at Southside Station. You can't go wrong ordering from here. Trust me. You'll thank me later. read more

Neatly packaged and huge portions! My husband was craving some fried chicken sandwiches and we got two chicken sandwiches to go with curly fries.... which lasted two meals! The papaya/carrots/cilantro slaw brought an interesting and refreshing taste. They also buttered and toasted the bun which is easy to do but you'll be surprised how many soft buns I've had. Bravo! read more

I came here with my sisters after Thanksgiving and the fried chicken sandwiches were super yummy! The shredded carrots and daikon reminded me of Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, and the fried chicken, bread, and sauce turned it into a different and lovely meal! The sauteed brussel sprouts - ALSO AMAZING AND DELICIOUS. Was buttery and well seasoned and just GOOD. The owner was super friendly and charismatic as well! Can't wait to introduce my friends to this place :)) read more

Went here in the middle of the afternoon during the restaurant's listed hours and surprise, it's closed for no reason. Don't come here if you expect it to be open during its own hours on its website. read more

I think I found another lunch spot worthy of me leaving my office for. I normally don't leave my office building because the food near me is just not worth it and I can just go to the cafeteria and get whatever they are serving. Dropped by the Southside station on my way back to my office after an off site meeting for lunch. Since this was my first time trying them I got the garlic noodles and a Thai ice tea something simple. The owner ( I think he is) was very friendly and welcoming. The food is super flavorful and good portions (I don't feel skimped). Looking forward to trying other things on there menu read more

Absolutely deliciaso chicken sandwiches! My boy friend got me those sandwiches last few months and he has been keeping keeping it a secret from me, but no more! I found you :) their staff is very friendly, they answered all my questions and it's even better to have it right away after they make it. I will be back soon read more

Money spot! Highly recommended. I went with a friend and ordered the green curry chicken Thai eggplant with the sunny side up egg (picture 1) and my boy got the Thai fried chicken wings with garlic noodles (picture 2). Its a new spot that opened during the pandemic so not many people are aware of it but they need and definitely deserve some love. read more

Visited this week for the first time -- pretty delicious! I've been missing my fave fried chicken sandwich spot in Baltimore (from Ekiben) and this is the best local spot I've found in comparison. The papaya slaw tastes great with the fried chicken and everything was flavorful. I also got a kid order of the rice/chicken with sweet chili sauce which was a large portion. Seems like a family business. Thanks! read more

Excellent food! The Wings and Things platter is my favorite takeout lunch to get with a friend. The wings are crispy and have a delicious hint of citrus. I've also enjoyed the fried chicken burger and sliders, and the fries were good. Business is responsive and friendly. Strongly recommended! read more

A really good fried chicken sandwich. It's a small to go place with an eclectic feel. There's boba and minimal variety but the chicken sandwich is worth the trip to check it out. read more

I happened to be in the area and had a hankering for fried chicken the whole week which other places didn't satisfy. I got the Thai fried chicken with garlic noodles and it was sooo delicious! Got the fried tofu for my daughter and they adjusted the spice level for kids. Owner is so nice! Also got the chopped chicken with basil; a bit spicy but all was delicious! Was concerned that it was a fast food place but quality was good and portions were huge! Definitely worth trying and I would go again if in the area. read more

This place was introduced to me by my Thai friend so that already gives this place a good record in my book. Their food has a twist on American food with Thai fusion and it is AMAZING!!!! I decided to try this new restaurant based on a friends recommendation since I'm a FREAK for chicken sandwiches. The restaurant staff was friendly and offered suggestions when I arrived. I decided to try their chicken sandwich, garlic noodles, stir fried brussel sprouts, and I tried their House Special Boba even though I'm usually not a huge fan. The chicken sandwich was SUPER tender, and their tamarind sauce was hella good! The garlic noodles were packed with flavor and probably the best I've had in a long time. I'm not sure what kind of magic they made them with, but I would recommend this combo to anyone. The brussel sprouts weren't over cooked or over salted, which tends to be the case at a lot of restaurants and the boba was surprisingly delicious! I was truly surprised. I don't like super sugary drinks and I love a good, strong Jasmine tea...and their house special boba was the perfect combination of this! I'm happy to have another bomb chicken spot in Berkeley and will def be going back for seconds. read more

This place looks terrible when you first look at it. The last restaurant of DTB. How good can it be? Well, pretty damn good. Sandwiched between a salon and an empty building. Only a gem of a restaurant exists in that type of environment. It's delicious. Just try it. If anyone dislikes it; blame their taste buds. read more

10/10 food, best chicken wings I've had in a long time and they somehow make Brussels sprouts taste good!

WOW! The fried chicken sandwich is phenomenal!! Hands down the best takeout I have had in a very long time.

CURLY FRIES ALERT. Super flavourful, with that hard cronch- everything curly fries are in your memories. Fried chicken sandwich was super tasty too. There's a spicy mayo spread, pickled shredded carrots and radishes (like banh mi), and two hunks of crispy, juicy fried chicken. Can't wait to come back for DID I MENTION CURLY FRIES, and to try other stuff on the menu. But mostly curly fries. read more

This is a one timer for me. The chicken sandwich was good with the first bite but then the fried chicken started to get soggy right away. It did not keep its crispiness. The fries are like jack in the box curly fries and the Brussels sprouts were soggy and there was no crunch. Not a lot of flavor in the sandwich or Brussels sprouts. All you can taste is bread and no chicken. read more

The crispy chicken sliders were amazing! Highly recommend getting the combo, that comes with curly fries, and a drink!

I live really close to Southside Station. I saw this place as an empty storefront for a while and was wondering when someone would open something new. Despite the unfortunate timing, I'm glad they opened! At first I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the eclectic menu (viewing online, since I ordered takeout), but I love spam fried rice so I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be delicious! Salty spam, plenty of veggies and a good amount of spice. Plus, the restaurant smelled amazing and garlicky -- I'll have to make an excuse to try the garlic noodles soon. read more

My flatmate and I are regular customers. We love the Thai chicken wings!! It's well spiced, super crispy and juicy inside. I've previously had the wings + garlic noodles combo. This place is cute, but I would not come back here unfortunately. The lady was not friendly. (First world problems) I wanted curly fries that day, and no where does it say they no longer serve curly fries here, but this is what the man who answered the phone told me, that due to the pandemic they dont serve it. They don't inform you of upcharges so customers are aware of the changes going on too. I'm sure curly fries & regular have a price difference. I agreed to a combo chicken sandwich which says $17, but paid $25. I might as well go to Chick Fil a. The chicken sandwich itself is difficult to handle with the amount of meat empowering the flavorless brioche bun, and not to forget the chicken was red which gave me bad vibes before i took my first bite, but i know tandoori style does this to the meat except the description doesnt mention tandoori style chicken sandwich. I didn't get to finish my meal, after picking at the sandwich & luke-warm fries. Thai tea was bland. Cute store front concept though. Oh, and there is no where to wash your hands. read more
