I went with a group of 6 and they were easily able to accomidate us for lunch inside. With the vast array of optoins, there should be something anybody can eat. The spicy pork bibimbap a great meal, large in size, I ended up sharing this bibimbap on order to try out other menu items. The pork had a mild spice to it and the egg was runny which mixed well with the other components. This is my second favorite item. But my first favorite would have to be the rice tacos. We ordered a trio of salmon, tuna and crab salad. The shell was nice and crispy, and not hard like a rice cake. And the filling was delicious. the only downside is this is messy to eat. I tried two honey butter wings, a sweet flavor, and another time I tried the "sweet cheddar". Both were excellent, hopefully I can try the Yangnyeom next time for some spicy flavor. Finally the raw salmon and onion kimbap was great. I would equally put the wings and kimbap as my third favorite for ordering. Service was fast, ordering is easy. Came here after taking the niece and nephew to the Little Farm as it is part BopShop with Bibimbap and rice tacos and the other part Von's chicken. Not your traditional Korean restaurant as it is more a fusion with their bibimbap and rice tacos. The salmon was the star for the rice tacos as the ahi felt a bit plain and dry the second time around. The kimbap was available as a half or full order so we went for a non-traditional raw salmon. My niece loved the crispy chicken with cheese, that she couldn't stop eating it and I admit they were addictive, so crispy but still juicy. When you get the bibimbap for takeout, they are very mindful to separate the hot from the cold portion which was great. read more

On a lazy weekday, I was in the area and craving some KFC. So this review is about the food more than the service which was amazing and super friendly. I got the real garlic, expecting Dracula level garlic but it is more of a sweet sticky garlic. It was tasty but targeted to people with a sweeter taste and would benefit with some salt. The other half of yangyum (medium) was more delicious and has apple jam in. It was a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The fry isn't the classic double fry for extra crispiness but still a good lunch. Came here solo after lifting at the gym looking for a basic protein meal - good thing I came across this place to try! The minute you walk in, the decor is simple, but ambiance is perfect for solo time or a casual date night. Staff was friendly, quick with service. Definitely a hole in the wall. Granted I was the only one eating at the bar - but nonetheless service was quick. I got the chicken bowl: 4 piece boneless and 2 piece vegetable potstickers. Among the Korean restaurants on Solano, I really enjoyed bop shop! The service was fantastic! We strolled in at 9:10 pm, when they close at 10 and the waiter was so kind and accommodated us. The food came out with great speed and the portions were generous and fresh. The chicken was crispy and delicious, I just wish it had a little more sauce. I do also wish the dishes came with banchan but the entrees are more affordable than the other korean restaurants on Solano. I definitely will come back to try out the other options. read more

The garlic chicken was the best - good flavor and good crunch - and the Yangnyeom chicken had a nice smoky flavor although not as spicy as we expected. Very saucy so have lots of napkins handy. Rice bowl and rice cake rounded out the dinner with decent sized portions. The spicy pork was tasty and it was good to get some veggies in. The best Korean fried chicken in the area!! Even better than other Vons around the bay. I always like to get the Yangnyeom Chicken (spicy only--their mild tastes too sweet for me) and the Crispy Chicken. If the Yangnyeom is too spicy, a great option is to get the sauce on the side! For their other foods, I've only had their kimbap. It was good, very standard. Sometimes cut a little thick in my opinion but not a huge issue. read more

I come in for the Bulgogi bibimbap whenever I'm in the area looking for takeout. Great mix of veggies, the meat is cooked well, and it's a perfect quantity for me. Always a satisfying meal. Due to the pandemic, I will be removing criteria that I had added to my reviews: restaurant ambiance and mood, staff, wait time, etc. This review will only focus on the dish. Quick Summary: - Fried chicken was beyond my expectations - Each dish had a well-balanced flavor, no flavors were overpowering the other - Light to the stomach but very content to the end - Side dishes are complimentary with fried chicken, but you will need to pay extra for the kimchi side. I opened this site on my browser and looked at the home page and the weekly recommendations, and this was in the list. The promoted image was the reason I clicked on it: it was the picture of their crunch fried chicken. Just looking at the picture I can almost hear the loud and airy crunch of the fried crust. "Soggy" was nonexistent on that crust surface. It was a beautiful fried chicken and I haven't seen a picture convey so many words. Anyways, that one picture got me like, "I am craving for fried chicken," so I ordered by delivery. When I viewed their menu I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also had udon. I was very curious on the difference between crunch and crispy. Their names are similar, but there had to be a reason for the names. I can already tell the fried chicken with the name "crunch" will be the dish that attracted my attention, so I ordered this one. I'll try the crispy option at a later visit. What I ordered for dinner was the crunch fried chicken (half combo), the veggie rice roll with the purple rice, the veggie udon (medium spiciness), and the Jhap Chae with the beef bulgogi option. I was preparing myself for the expected that delivery can cause dishes to become soggier due to the steam from the other warm dishes. However, to my surprise and glee, that didn't happen. When I opened the box, the crunch fried chicken was still crunchy looking. It arrived just like the photo, so couldn't help myself by taking an extra photo too. First thing I'll say, I'll definitely order here again. I've been trying out Korean dishes ,but each dish here stood out as a couple of notches more delicious. There was flavor in the first bite and different flavors remained. Also, there were so many flavors, salty, sweet, umami, sour, yet they balanced in harmony. Sweet is one flavor that often stands out in Korean dishes, sometimes comes out as too strong, but this place handled it well. I really liked the noodles in the Jhap Chae. It was a springy, soft, and chewy noodle. It was a fun texture to eat and it went well with the vegetables (there was a vegetable crunch and one bite can cut them instead of having a couple of chews to get the noodle down). The beef option was so good too. It was tender that I didn't need to bite down at all. I'm a beef person, so I recommend having the bulgogi option on the Jhap Chae. I also loved the udon noodle soup. I ordered the medium flavor and it wasn't spicy - which is good because I have a low spice tolerance. The spice added a sour like flavor to the soup that made it pop. The udon noodles were chewy and perfect. A little sad note, but this is to be expected with delivery, is that the egg was cooked thoroughly when I tried to break it. If I was eating this at the store, the yolk would've leaked, and the soup would've been creamy. Still good though and I would order this again (and also try the miso option too). The rice rolls were a good side dish, if one prefers to have a lighter side with the fried chicken. The vegetables were crispy and weren't just raw, it was seasoned with something that didn't produce that "freshly picked from the dirt" taste. I noticed the difference with the carrot. It didn't taste like a root. The rolls didn't need soy sauce because the filling had flavor. This dish had protein options, but I was fairly pleased with the original veggie. Finally, the fried chicken. This was beyond my expectations. I can see why this fried chicken is called "crunch" The moment I bit into it, it made a satisfying crunch noise. This noise was exactly what I wanted to hear. The meat was juicy and I was able to taste the flavor even until I reached the bone. There was no moment of me stopping because the chicken meat had no flavor or too bland (sad story with some fried chicken I had in the past). The crust itself wasn't salty at all. I wish there was a dish that I can just eat the crunchy crust, that was how good it was. It was light and airy, just as how I imagined it. It made my day. It was like I found the one: Yes, THIS is the fried chicken I was looking for! In all, I was VERY happy to have discovered this restaurant, and I hope to visit in person to try out. read more

After our group walk, we ventured to Solano Ave. for some lunch. Our coordinator gave us a couple of choice, but we opted for Bopshop Korean since it was right in front of us as we hit Solano Ave and we were hungry. We checked out the menu on the window which had bibimbops, teriyaki and poke bowls, Korean items and lunch specials and Vons fried chicken. I checked out the Yelp page, but it appears that Vons Fried Chicken is now part of Bopshop Korean. There are a couple of table of tables for two inside, but we sat at the Peet's table outside since a couple of us got drinks from Peet's. After seeing the Yelp picture of the tonkatsu plate, I decided to order it. The food was ready within ten minutes. Hmmm....my order didn't look like the Yelp pic. The tonkatsu was about one-third smaller and the order came with white rice instead of multi-grain purple rice. The pork was good but the cutlet was on the thin side. My friends who ordered the Vons fried chicken thought it was good but not as good as our favorite Korean Fried Chicken place a little north of here. It appears that the concept and menu has changed here. From mainly bibimbop and teriyaki bowls to a more limited bowl and Korean offerings with Vons Chicken. We've going there a few times. We love Korean fry chicken and they also have surprisingly good ramen and poke bowls. Our server Joe is very good and tentative! The fried chicken is very tasty and crunchy. Good aside there are a few problems with the restaurant itself! 1) there are serious lack of tables in the restaurant, the bar chairs are so cluttered it feels like we are canned sardines, 2) the theme of the restaurant is mimicking Korean izakaya style, for business men, office people to come have a beer and eat fry chicken. Unfortunately this doesn't work, the restaurant is in the middle of a residential neighborhood where most patrons are couples or families. This isn't Asia either over packed bar sitting area where customers sit like canned sardines will never work with customers. 3) the tv doesn't have nothing showing, no news, sports or food show. At one point all it had was Samsung's fireplace images from its free tv. If you are going to put a tv there, show something, even your own advertising. 4) we see beer on tap but only 1 was available and is asahi beer, there is no point to the beer on tap if you are not selling something different from what you already can sell in a bottle. not to mention the cable mess of online food ordering. The cash register is on top of a surface where it should be converted to a lifting counter so the single wait staff don't have to go the long route to serve food or take order. There are couple of time we order fry chicken and got the flavor. It taste good regardless, when the place is busy 1 person doing serving and preparing poke bowls & Korean rice bowls are a challenge. All orders come with a palate cleansing pickled daikon and Asian cole slaw with a hint of citrus. I ordered a jhap chae and it was yummy! The crunchy chicken had a sprinkle of cilantro. The crispy chicken was plain but juicy and tender. The garlic sauce was a bit on the sweet side. The popcorn chicken was hot and tasty but I have had ones with a lighter crust. When you crave good Korean Fried chicken that is juicy and made to order, this is your place! I just finished an appointment in the area and thought I would walk around to see if I could find something to eat. It was still kind of early and not that many places were open. I saw the BopShop opened at 11am. When I saw that they had a Tonkatsu lunch special, I knew that was for me. I love pork. The person behind the counter was friendly and told me I could wait outside and he would bring the food to me. They have tables outside so you can eat there, but I was taking my food to go. When I got home, I opened up my lunch and was impressed. There was a large piece of Tonkatsu, purple multi-grain rice (I chose this option), cole slaw, and pot stickers. At first I thought the cole slaw was too sweet, but when I ate it with the Tonkatsu and rice it was the perfect complement. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the Tonkatsu sauce. There was a lot of food and I saved some for later. I also liked that they put some openings in the container to let the steam vent, so that the food wouldn't get soggy. The only thing I would do next time, is ask for the Tonkatsu sauce on the side to keep the meat more crispy. I will definitely go back for the Tonkatsu and to try the rest of the menu. I'm a big fan of fried chicken. This restaurant pleasantly surprised me because of how tasty, fresh and satisfying it was. I ordered the popcorn chicken bowl that came with two veggie pot stickers, rice, cole slaw and cabbage. I recommend ordering the spicy tangy flavor because it has such a great taste. I really like that the chicken had some sweetness to it. I also appreciated the excellent, quick and friendly service that was provided. The restaurant itself was clean and had a good amount of seating inside, as well as outside. The only downside is the parking since it is very limited but that is a small price to pay. Overall, the food was excellent. I will be returning and probably getting a to-go order as well. I just dug into this food that was ordered and it is so delicious and it was very filling and it wasn't overcooked and I was really happy about that because I hate it when people mess up a good rice. I had the kimchi rice where it's already assembled in a bowl with a protein on the top my protein was egg and tofu. My beautiful wife Had the works bimbap which had bulkoki in it. We sure need to bars I had a few bites of urgent a few bites of mine and we were both very very pleased with how it turned out. Not only were the vegetables bright and fresh and not overcooked the rice also as I mentioned was perfectly done and still had a certain amount of fluffiness left to it even though it's a kimchi rice. I would also say that the flavors were very close to being true Korean as well and on the side they gave us some guchujahn hot sauce. The portions were just the right size to make sure that we're gonna have a little bit to nibble on later on this evening after we watch our movie. It's always fun going back instead of having a the next day. It's a it's a very small place so be prepared to not see many tables and most of the businesses I believe take out. Take-out/S.I.P. review: BopShop's Korean Fried Chicken is the first take-out I ordered during the shelter in place. I ordered a full size medium-spicy yangnyeom chicken. I hadn't eaten out for a long time, so this was a perfect meal to satisfy my cravings. The crisp and crunch was missing a little because of the steam caused by the take-out box (even thought they left a crack open to let steam out), and it took a little bit of time to drive home. You just can't beat when it comes out fresh. Besides this, the flavors were perfect blend of spicy, sweet and salty-- just what I wanted after not eating out for a while. The chicken itself was juicy and tender. The full-size chicken portions was huge and generous. Parking was a breeze. I called my order in ahead of time, and it was ready in 15 minutes. They have the pick-up for delivery orders down. They enforce the mask and social distancing rules. Today I discovered a new chicken place to eat. I met some co-workers here. We are Zooming most days so it was nice to meet up. We sat outside and ate. BopShop Korean Kitchen is coupled with Vons Chicken which I was confused until I Googled the brand name and visited the website. I am a lover of Korean Fried Chicken and the Korean spices, chili peppers Gochujang(red chili paste), and Gochugaru (red pepper powder). I love kimchi also. I ordered a half order of spicy Yangnyum seasoned chicken. It was so good, so succulent, juicy, and very messy. I was using the chopsticks as skewers. I got Yangnyum juice on my face mask. I needed some wet wipes. All Vons chicken orders are served with a side of radish pickle and coleslaw. I plan on trying a few more dishes on my return trip. read more

I cannot believe they treated me with such rudeness. I called to place an order, and they said the wait was about 35 minutes. I arrive 35 minutes later, and they completely ignore me when I walk in, even though I am clearly waiting. I try to get their attention and I'm ignored. Then a tall guy walks in and they immediately go to help him ( I am a short ish girl by the way). When they finish with him I tell them I'm waiting for my order, and they ask my name, move as if to check on my order, but just start texting on their phones instead. I stare at them while they do this, and about 5 minutes later they look up and say - did anyone get back to you yet? This was ridiculous because they had both gone on their phones and there was no one else working there. I say no, and they ask my name again, I tell them, and they say "oh it will be another 40 minutes". Today was clearly a busy day for them, but that's is no reason to treat customers so rudely (and perhaps with sexism). It made me feel terrible and it was incredibly inconsiderate of them.
