Sweet potato fries
Sydney J.

There's several restaurants in the Public Market that sell sweet potato fries, and I decided to try Paradita's. Sadly, I felt they were too soft and soggy and not crispy enough. It might partly have been because the fries had been steaming in the takeout box, but even then, I know it's possible to make them crispier to compensate for it. It came with a spicy sauce, might've been sriracha and mayo. I see they do have veggies saltado and quinoa flan on their menu, though, so I may try those next time.

Pork roast sandwich with sweet potato Fries

My friend and I stopped in the public market in Emeryville. There were several little booths with different types of foods to choose from. There was quite a variety to choose from. We finally decided upon the Peruvian restaurant. The place like all the others was rather small. There were only about four tables, but it was still comfortable. I tried the pork roast sandwich that also had sweet potato on it. It was absolutely delicious. The combination of the flavors were really good. I definitely will have another. It was big enough that I was able to save half for my dinner. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich and she thought it was very good also The staff were very friendly and helpful

Aji de Gallina with salad and yucca fries

We stopped into this spot at the E'Ville Public Market with big appetites after a nice long walk along the water. The staff and management were incredibly kind and gracious with our special requests. We ordered the Aji de Gallina with yucca fries and a salad that had an amazing passionfruit vinaigrette. I still think about that salad... it was perfectly dressed and I wish I could recreate that vinaigrette at home, or at the very least buy it by the bottle. The chicken was of course, delicious and I definitely want to drop by and sample more items on the menu.

We enjoyed happy hour! I loved the happy hour selections.

The service, food and selection was great! We enjoyed happy hour- the flavor great and we can't wait to go back.

Mushroom Empanadas
Jim D.

The empanadas are made to order, fresh and tasty. I ordered the mushroom empanadas it was fresh and pairs well with the salsa. I also ordered the sweet potato fries, crispy and fresh. There are also salads and a plethora of drinks served here. I did enjoy the empanadas but I wanted to see a little more variety such as cheese empanadas, beef or chicken empanadas. There is seating near the counter and the shared public tables in the hall. The staff was nice but maybe I ordered the wrong dish.

Chicken skewers

When I first entered I was greeted with warm smiles by the staff. I got the chicken skewers and it came with a salad bathed in a vinaigrette and two small potato slices, aswell as a side a green and yellow sauce. The chicken skewers were extremely juicy and tender. The marinade on the chicken was mouthwatering and when I had some of the salad it came with in the vinaigrette it felt like a flavor bomb in my mouth. The sauces on the side honestly weren't necessary because everything I ate had so much flavor but the sauces still tasted amazing aswell. I love this place! I'll definitely be back for other items.

Flan

I wanted to try something new for the both of us and we chose this place. The staff member asked if we wanted a sample so of course we gave it a try. And wow. Oh wow. We got a sample of the Lomito al Jugo. It was so good that I ordered it. Yes, the sample worked. While we waited for our food I was checking out their decor. There's a row of seating available inside. Simple decor, which is nice as it doesn't take away from the experience of tasting the food. When I got my order of Lomito al Jugo, I was so excited. It really is that good. The flavors were addicting. Everything was seasoned well and I didn't feel gross after eating anything. He also gave us a sample of the flan, which was good too. Not too sweet, just right.

Pork belly skewers over a bed of salad with sliced potatoes

We were very indecisive on what we wanted for lunch so we decided to go to the Emeryville Public Market for a variety of options. Found this Peruvian spot and it did not disappoint! We sat at the bar next to a happy customer which was refreshing. The aroma of spices was making me hungrier as the bar is in view of the kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the free slider offered while we waited for our food! It was multiple samples of their sandwiches on the menu. Hey, WE LOVE FREE STUFF! Drinks and food were served promptly, everything was fresh, and flavorful. We received free sample of the sliders from the menu and it was so good! At first we thought the portion sizes were small so we ordered multiple things (we were starving ok?!) but then realized it was pretty filling lol we had lots of leftovers! Fyi- I ate my food the next day, it was just as delicious

Pollo a la Brasa w/ Fries (1/2 order)
Kevin C.

Was craving chicken for lunch and this was the perfect spot! Pollo A La Brasa - 4.5/5 - Perfectly seasoned combining savory Latin flavors with slightly charred skin. Ordered half a chicken (1 drumstick and parts of thighs/breast) and I could barely finish it all. The Huancaina sauce was amazing, reminding my of a high quality cheese dip. The chimichurri was also bursting with flavor. Combining the chicken with these sauces turned brought my tastebuds to flavortown! Fries - 4/5 - I am a fry aficionado and I must say these fries were a hit! Crunchy, good thickness, and had flavor. They were moderately greasy, which could be good or bad depending how you're feeling. Near the end I shredded some chicken and made the perfect bite with chicken+fries+both sauces. Extremely generous with the amount too! Prepare to share or have leftover fries. Service was friendly and fast. Ambience was clean and had plentiful seating. Will come back to try more of their menu!

While we were at the Public Market, our friend ordered a pollipapas at Paradita Eatery for us to try. It's basically loaded fries which includes chopped up fried chicken, creamy rocoto aioli, cilantro, feta cheese and a side of chimichurri sauce for a tanginess to cut the grease. Tasted great altogether! Though I felt $15.50 was a bit steep for fries, however this could be a meal! Service was fast and friendly. Love that we can grab so many types of cuisine at the public market! It's not your typical mall food court. Better quality than we expected!

Lomo saltado
Jose Manuel C.

Inside public market is a Peruvian restaurant, while it doesn't sell ceviche it sells lomo saltado, something other Peruvian restaurants in the bay don't have. This place also sells tacos and dog friendly bites, so I would say I qualify as a fusion rather than authentic. I had a traditional lomo saltado, it was delicious. I probably would say If you ordered some of those things in a taco I'd feel like a fajita. Place sells Peruvian beer and other spirits, kind staff and salsa music. I'd say probably not the most authentic but considering Peruvian restaurants with lomo saltado it was decent. 4.7 of 5. I'd probably go again

Adobo Slider. Searon-Chicken Slider. BBQ Slider.

I disagree with Sydney's 4 Star Rating Comment just because I Feel it was Semantics as well as a comment any white person//bay area-er would be leaving. That food was fckn Amazing, and that's overall All that I have to Say. Sydney, points were made; that is also some of the best Peruvian food around --that I have had.

A true hidden gem right at the bottom of Solano Ave in Albany!…read more I'm embarrassed to admit that Picnic has been around for about 5 years in the east bay and I've just tried it for the first time this week. But I'm so glad I was finally introduced to it. The staff greet you promptly when you enter and you can even watch them work effortlessly together in the open prep-station behind the counter. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it. They also sell whole smoked quail that are seasoned heavily yet each bite has just the right amount of smokiness, spices, and salt. Their hot food items and sandwiches are perfect for a quick lunch during your break from work or on your way home. There are also a few counter seats if you want to enjoy your meal there. So far I've tried the smoked quail, the Muffaletta sandwich, and their green lentil soup with chicken + veg. The sandwich was filled to the brim and each bite was a flavor bomb. The lentil soup was very comforting & paired well with the smoked quail. I'm looking forward to trying everything they have to offer.

I really wanted to love this place. Very small and quirky, limited menu. I'm not really a "salad is…read morea meal" person, although my two best friends are. They were very happy with their arugula salads. I ordered the mac n cheese which was okay. Even though I grew up in El Cerrito, I sometimes feel like my NorCal green card has expired. I've lost touch with my small batch, organic self. (Although I have never liked arugula) This store is adorable and just the kind of independent neighborhood place that should be frequented and appreciated. Unfortunately I also had to use the bathroom and they don't have one for customers. So they recommended walking a block away to the BevMo. So I guess that added some negative feelings.
