Came here Thursday evening for dinner and got the Yuba Sticks dinner with potato salad and a mango slushie. YUM YUM YUMMY!!! The entire place was so delicious. I am not a huge tofu fan despite being vegetarian but they did this plate right. It doesn't have any of the usual texture and I had to remember it was tofu and not chicken. The rice was complimenting, salad was good and potato salad wasn't horrible (I'm picky about potato salad). And the mango slushie is also really delicious and refreshing! Street version of FOB kitchen. When you need a taco that drips with adobo, this is the place. This location for FOB has a dual identity -- it has both the elevated fare of the Kitchen but it is streamlined (back) down as street food. We ordered the arroz caldo, chopped salad, jackfruit taco, lumpia, and a slushee. The arroz soup had surprisingly complex flavors, with ginger at the front and rounded out by the aromatics added to the bowl. The porridge was thin but it kept the dish from getting too heavy and let the tender chicken shine through. The jackfruit taco was equally impressive. The adobo and vinegar brought smoke and sourness while the coconut milk made the fruit feel rich as you ate it. The chopped salad and lumpia were middle of the road -- if you particularly enjoy those things then go ahead, but they don't differentiate themselves much. Perhaps the sauce with the lumpia is a bit too sweet (as was the mango-lemonade slushee). I want to give the food 3.5 stars. It is all very well executed and a few dishes are well constructed. But it is caught between two worlds: will it be elevated or the usual? The storefront hasn't quite decided and it holds some of the dishes back. read more

My second time ordering for FOB whilst hanging at Prescott Market on a lovely day, and they continue to deliver on flavor and quality. It's really nice to see such rich representation of Filipino cuisine in the Bay Area, and FOB is a sure fire contributor to its rise in popularity. Lumpia and Pancit are both stable Filipino dishes, and FOB nailed both of these. Excellent flavor, healthy portions, and friendly vibes all around from the staff. A new spot since we last made it out to Prescott Market. I forgot the name of the dish in my picture, but this is BOMB! The sausage very flavorful and delicious! Rice with the egg on top was a great touch with the sliced mango. This is a highly recommended dish when in Prescott and want a dish that is a little different. Service was fast and very friendly. Both were messy to eat. (Lots of sauce/juice) Jackfruit vegan had jackfruit, onions, garlic, soy, coconut milk, tomatillo salsa, cilantro. Had a spicy kick, jackfruit taste overwhelmed by salsa. Super friendly service here, vibe is chill. Cost us higher than other Filipino food, but the plating is pretty. We always do the Longanisa brunch special, it just feels like home and is very nostalgic for me with the garlic rice. I tried this spot during a trivia night and was so impressed. I had the original location, but I really appreciate the more casual style of this one. You can order from your table and pickup when it is ready, which I felt was really convenient. The beef adobo tacos were so yummy! The beef cheek was tender and the consommé on the side made it even more delicious. These are most similar to birria tacos with a Filipino twist. Let's get down to business: - Veggie lumpia (6 pieces)--Freshly fried and the ideal way for me to eat vegetables. The garlic vinegar should douse every bite! - Pancit Sotanghon--bihon clear rice noodles, no meat. The veggies are neatly cut and cooked just right. My daughter took me to the Oakland Farmers Market and had lunch at the Prescott Market where we had Filipino food at FOB West. I ordered the Daing na Bangus which is a marinaded fried milk fish. They added tomatoes, cilantro, onions, etc. inside the fish, accompanied with salad, yellow rice and potato salad. There was a vinegar dressing mixture for the fish to add more flavor. Came to the Bay to Celebrate my cousin's 1 year anniversary in heaven. Did a search of restaurants from Yelp and this place popped up. I knew I had to try this place cause I recognized the Red Rice, food from my home town Guam and the Daing Bangus from my Filipino Heritage. FOB Kitchen West in Prescott Market serves Filipino and Guamanian Chamorro food, and the flavors/presentation of the dishes were executed perfectly. We started with a simple Asian-inspired Chop Salad made of shredded romaine/iceberg lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, scallion, cilantro, sesame seeds, and almonds, tossed with a soy sesame vinaigrette and topped with crispy rice noodles for an extra crunch. A far more interesting item to try was the Kelaguen taco, which featured kelaguen, a Guamanian dish made of chopped grilled chicken in a creamy dressing made with grated coconut, green onions, lemon, and Thai chilies. This ceviche-like mixture was served in two toasted corn tortillas and finished with crispy bits of chicken on top--the kelaguen had a nice tropical/coconut flavor and creamy texture, making for a delicious taco filling. But my favorite dish of all was the Daing Na Bangus Fiesta Plate, which featured a whole butterflied boneless milkfish, marinated in vinegar/garlic/spices and deep-fried to crispy perfection. The gorgeously plated milkfish was served with sides of red rice, mac salad, and green salad, along with vinegar and hot sauce as condiments. This is my new favorite go-to spot. I especially enjoy taking friends who are visiting from out of town and looking for something they wouldn't be able to get other places. Their combination of Filipino and Chamorro flavors make it a comfort food staple. The chicken kelaguen tacos are my favorite, and the slushies make it a go to for the ideal summer meal. I had the Daing Na Bangus. The dish set me back $25 - a high price for the amount of food you get. I feel as though there was a problem with the way it was advertised. I wish they would have been more descriptive so I would know what to expect. The vinaigrette was WAY too spicy, I couldn't even eat my salad. I usually have a high spice tolerance but this was beyond that. The potato salad was just ok - bland and nothing special. The rice was pretty good but unfortunate that it was under the fish. The fish was actually foul. It was advertised as boneless. No. Every single bite has small sharp bones. I felt so bad wasting so much fish but it's inedible. I wish they could have prepared it more. I would have liked if they could remove the head, tail, fins, bones and organs. Maybe just provide us a fillet? I could not see from the small photo on the website but you get the whole fish - nothing done to it. I wish I could have loved this place. Whoever runs this place doesn't have common sense. They decided to be closed on Friday night so I went there another day. Food is either greasy, salty or bland. Prices are high for what you get. Service is slow and they oddly can't read the customer names in all caps that they write on the take out bags. Got text that order was ready, went there, gave name and then was told order wasn't ready. Waited a bit and then saw take out bag with my name on it had been there all along. Had to point it out to them like 3 times before they saw the take out bag with name on it. Suggest skipping this place. read more
