Get their lumpia! Good size, super flavorful. Bowls were bomb. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out.

First of all thank you Rene too welcome us too his Restaurant. I consider this place a Hidden Gem you guys missing out a good Filipino food. Me and wife ordered there Famous chicken bowl and Sisig bowl plus 6 Lumpia, all the food is phenomenal, the chicken reminds me when I was in the Philippines it gives me nostalgic taste. The sisig is chefs kiss this is how sisig taste supposed too be very flavorful and the Lumpia are pack of protein inside the flavor is sooo good. Verdic 10/10 is a must try place and they have huge parking lot very convenient..

    Thank Que Bowl.

Date: 9/5/2024 Time: 1:05 PM 74° Sunny A shout out to Victor G and Jim D, two of my fellow yelpers. I would have never known about Thank Que Grill until I read their reviews. Thanks, Victor & Jim. I came here with somebody who I know is a Lyft driver. D. Broadnax treated me to lunch earlier because he and I knew some of the same people from two different high schools. Thank Que Grill is a hidden gem, a brick & mortar on Dennison Street, not far the cross street of Embarcadero E in Oakland. Depending on which direction one is headed to this destination, from Oakland it is a left turn on Dennison; from Alameda it is cross the Park Street Bridge, left on 23rd Avenue, continue straight ahead on E. 7th Street onward to Embarcadero E and right turn on Dennison. Service was attentive, but the wait time for lunch was about 15 minutes. At the time, the restaurant had an influx of restaurant patrons and ran out of chicken for the Thank Que Bowl. No problem, patience is a virtue. No drama here. Life is too short for drama. The chef needed to prepare the chicken. Our bowls were freshly prepared and quite enjoyable. We were also comp an order of Shanghai lumpia. The lumpias were on point, especially with my garlic vinegar. Seating capacity indoor is 18 people. Outdoor patio is more spacious and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. Based on my observation, there are 4 community tables with benches, 3 small tables with a pair of chairs and a long table with tall barstools. Great outdoor dining area for chillaxin' while enjoying lunch during the summer months. The only drawback I have, and it is not the restaurant's fault, is I don't drive and there is no public transportation nearby. I will return for a future visit. Finally, thanks to D. Broadnax for treating me to a wonderful lunch and for the laughs. I'm still laughing about them June birthdays. LOL.

Cute little menu, good genuine food, warm family service.

Delicious food. Warm family vibe. I passed this place a lot on my way in and out of Alameda. O gave us a delicious sample.

Came in after work on a Thursday and this was my first time at this place . I think it was the owner and maybe his mom, but it was an elderly lady in the restaurant and they were both so welcoming and kind. I think it was the owner, but he was the one that made my food. He explained the menu in full detail and what made each meal special and how he added his own touch. He also gave me a sample of the chicken they use for the banh mi and banh mi bowl, it was delicious. I ended up getting the thank que bowl and the sisig garlic aioli fries. Both were made fresh and I was in and out within 15 minutes. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. It's kind of tucked away so I've never seen it before but the sign they put up I pass it every day after work so I wanted to try. Did not disappoint!! I feel like it's so hard to find Filipino food around Oakland with out having to drive down to San Leandro or all the way to Daly City. Hope this business gets the credit and exposure they deserve and thrive!! Will be back with friends next time :)

Thank Que Grill is an amazing local restaurant, with an outstanding team behind its delicious food and great service. Chef Rene served as a guest speaker for my school club, the Business & Entrepreneurship Club. He shared his story and catered the event, serving his turkey lumpia and sliders. Everyone highly enjoyed the food he brought, with many people saying it was the best lumpia they've had! Chef Rene and his family were super kind and created a memorable experience for students in my club through his demonstration on how to wrap the perfect lumpia. Thank you so much to Chef Rene & family for an unforgettable event of valuable discussion and amazing food!

This is one of those spots that really gives the local, homey vibe. Being filipino myself, I found that sort of connection to the menu even though there are differences from traditional methods. By saying that, the food speaks for itself and its delicious. The owner was really friendly and broke their menu down for us with even a history of how Thank Que Grill became what it is. We ordered the Sisig Fries, Lumpia, and Lumpia Sliders. Everything was made to order and piping hot once it was brought to the table. The sisig are infant-approved, especially the aioli thats laid on top of the fries. We didnt finish our food and took a good amount home as the food is on the heavier side but thats not necessarily a bad thing. Im coming here again in the future and trying their Chicken Banh Mi.

Please run and checkout this amazing fresh and fresh and fresh food! Now, if you know anything about this area you know that there's no food, fresh or otherwise, in this area off Embarcadero. I work around the corner and short of the hot dog cart on the corner, we out of luck, especially with the recent closing of Quinn's. Well, my colleague had the Rice bowl with chicken and Turkey lumpia while I had the ThankQue salad with BBQ.... Yes, BBQ tofu! Yum! Let's get into this salad. It was delicious. First of all the salad had cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, romaine, jalapeno, carrots, pickled salad, bean sprouts, and my God, the bbq tofu was so flavorful and well made, and I promise that homemade dressing was everything!!! Now, my colleague was thoroughly impressed, as I, with the grill on the patio where their signature bbq chicken as made. No complaints! These men were welcoming, happy and proud of their food, as well as offered samples of their bbq chicken. Good service, value, and a comfortable setting. That patio is the perfect escape from the city streets and stale offices.

Part of the menu. There are specials and off-menu items as well.

TQG smacks! Tucked away from the noise of the city, TQG is like an oasis heading toward coast guard island. I had the Sisig fries, BBQ Chicken bowl, bbq chicken banh mi, lumpia, and the fruit salad. I recommend all of it, but when i come back I'm definitely getting the sisig fries again and trying the lumpia sliders. Service was amazing! That's the Filipino culture but you really feel it in here. Outdoor seating options with a nice covered patio.

    Woooo!

I had a conference in Oakland and these were one of the vendors that served us food. I'm pretty critical of Filipino food as my family serves up some pretty mean dishes but here was my experience. AMBIANCE: They were hosting at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center as opposed to their upcoming brick-and-mortar. Their setup was simple and nice. FOOD: Pancit (Recommend) Pancit is a staple Filipino dish found at numerous feasts and celebrations, consisting of stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables such as chicken, pork, shrimp, celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and cabbage. Shanghai Lumpia (Recommend) A medley of ground pork, carrots, celery, onions, water chestnuts, oyster sauce, salt & pepper all delivered in a crunchy wrap. BBQ Chicken (Recommend) Juicy chicken that was well marinated with a pleasantly sweet and zest to it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Rene and Leo represented Thank Que Grill and they were kind and friendly people. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Awesome! Delicious food that was very comforting. I approve and I'm sure my elders would approve too. A simple menu that's not too flashy. I'm glad to see a growth in Filipino food businesses so whether it's your first time or not, be sure to check them out. I wish Kuya Rene and his team all the best. #FilipinoFoodMovement Tips: * Follow them on social media for updates.

My favorite was the mac & cheese and brussels sprouts. The meats were so tender! Although, I tried a piece of pork link, for some reason, I didn't like it. It seemed too grainy. The ambience was chill, and they have full bar. Nice and spacious. My only complaint is that I was trying to order & the phone rings & the host took the call. What I learned in customer service in my 20 years +, you attend to the customer in front of you first. Phone calls can wait. When she got off the phone, other workers came over and they started talking about what's next in their schedule. Still, I'm over here, waiting to order the rest of the stuff. That what the unprofessional part of things.. Glad we still came here to try. It still earned a star to come back!

Super awesome. The kitchen is wide open. Everything was super clean and well put together. Service - 5/5 Great recommendations from the staff. The house slaw and banana pudding were clearly popular choices, and they definitely knew what they were doing when guiding the order. I told them it's my first time. These were what they recommended me. One of the staff actually gave a piece of brisket to try. Very nice of them to give a free sample before I order so I know what I'm expecting. Food - 4.5/5 Dish Ordered: Dino Rib, Brisket ( 1/2 lb), House Slaw, Banana Pudding 5/5 Dino Rib Wow. This was the highlight. The meat was unbelievably tender--every single part of it. Usually with ribs, especially the upper portions, you get some toughness or dryness depending on how it's smoked. Not here. This one was melt-in-your-mouth soft, juicy throughout, and you could practically pull it apart effortlessly. The seasoning was perfect--balanced, not too salty, not bland, just right. Every bite hit. 4/5 Brisket ( 1/2 lb) About two slices. Visually, it looked great--nice color, juicy, with a solid fatty portion. But after eating the Dino rib, it felt a bit underwhelming. Still good, just didn't hit as hard flavor-wise. Might be better appreciated on its own next time. 5/5 House Slaw This paired extremely well with the meat. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing. The hint of peanuts adds a nice nutty layer that makes it stand out. It cuts through the richness of the meat perfectly. 5/5 Banana Pudding Not your typical pudding--it's more like a banana cake. The sweetness not too overwhelming, smells amazing, and just hits the spot. A great way to finish the meal. Additional Comments The Dino rib alone makes this place worth it. It sets a very high bar, which honestly makes everything else feel secondary. The best Rib I have ever had in my life so far. Important thing to note is that the rib will be weighed. I don't think you can ask to get the portion you want like you can with the brisket. My Dino rib came out to be 1.6lb. The sides and dessert complement the meal really well and round out the experience. Price is bit is definitely in the higher end but the experience is definitely worth it.

Son wanted to try so we are here…read more The line was long, the selection limited but the taste was good. There were many big orders, likely for parties. A $300 order can fit nicely into a regular paper grocery bag with room to spare, so make sure your wallet is mentally prepared so it does not go into shock. We had a sandwich. A pound of brisket and some baby back. My advice... unless you really want to suck the gravy off the bones or want to bring gift to your canine friend, don't get anything with bones as everything is by weight and I don't know about you, I can't chew on the bones. After close to $80, I had some meat off the rib and a piece of brisket, and craving some instant noodles ... The place is very transactional and noisy. But that is how it should be with a busy place where majority of orders are to-go.

First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. But what really stands out is this: It has been a LONG time since I've experienced service this genuine, this intentional, and this excellent. Not rushed, not careless--EXCEPTIONAL. Management, if you are reading this--please understand--you have some powerful people on your team. Candalen and Aaron are the kind of employees that elevate a brand. They are the reason people come back. They are the reason I will be telling others. This wasn't just a good experience. This was the kind of experience that turns customers into loyal supporters. It's the kind of place you almost miss if you're not looking for it, but once you find it, you'll keep coming back. The brisket, pulled pork, and spare ribs are consistently excellent. The meat is incredibly tender, it basically melts in your mouth, and that deep, smoky flavor really seeps all the way through, not just on the surface. The sauces come on the side, and they're free, so don't be shy about asking for extra. I actually asked if there was a limit once, and the cashier laughed and said something like, "Maybe six containers?" If I'm being picky, I'd probably skip the hot links next time. They're not bad, just nothing special compared to how strong everything else is, slightly smoky, but otherwise pretty standard. The collard greens are a standout side dish. They've got this nice acidity that cuts through the richness of the meat really well. There is a noticeable vinegar tang, though, so if that's not your thing, you might want to pass, but if you like that balance, they're great. Another big bonus, there's a park right outside the building near the exit by Cashew Creamery. It's perfect if you've got kids. There's this whale structure they can climb into (through the mouth or side), with a slide on top and climbing holds all over -- fins, back, tail, the whole thing. There are also surfboard-style balance boards on springs and plenty of open space and greenery to run around. And if you're making a little outing of it, it's only about a 10-minute walk to Bay Street, so you can easily pair your meal with a stroll, some shopping, or more food and drinks nearby.
