So today I visited Michael Kors in Southgate mall I kew what I wanted so my time there was approx. 7 minutes I brought my 11 year old handsome son for a second opinion. As I was looking at my item a very pleasant/ timid looking girl asked if she could help me and I said "yep, we're ready" She found the non-display model of my wallet and wrapped it so perfectly. While she was wrapping it another girl took over her computer and started ringing in another customer. My rep said " Oh I wasn't done can you please print a copy of the receipt for me?" The other loser girl was like " Oh it's too late I've already started" How rude when there was another computer there. Anyways I will be sure to call in the morning to make sure my girl got the right receipt number. By the way my receipt says my girls name is Breanne. Not sure if they work on commission but if you do visit Michael Kors you should ask for Breanne. Furthermore, my husband an I went before Christmas to purchase a purse The girls were hounding us... by the time I picked the one I liked the pushiest girl rang us in... she explained that she would wrap it for us and to come back in 10-15 mins. We stopped at Bath & Body Works next door and came right back. The girl who wrapped our stuff pretended not to see us and kept ringing people in. Finally my husband spoke up and said we are here to pick up our purse... " She said I'm sorry did you already purchase one?" We were so shocked that her memory was so gone. I think we are a memorable looking family for at least 10 minutes. C'mon I black and spanish and my daughter has platinum blonde hair and green eyes So for these reasons I can only give a 3. This is my favorite mall in Edmonton - due in large part to the fact that I have lived on the south side of Edmonton for many years so this was the most convenient. Throughout the years the mall has become better and bigger with it's regular renovations. I can usually find what I am looking for here and I find it isn't usually crazy busy like WEM usually is (and parking is much less of a nightmare). I think it's awesome that the LRT goes right past here now and this is a main bus terminal for the south side. I often park here to take the LRT downtown or to Rexall. This mall has the majority of the stores I like and the food court is pretty good. Since I hate fighting crowds, this place usually isn't too bad! read more

What a transformation this complex has been through. It has gotten quite elegant. Although downsize there is not much use for me to go, I always seem to be only walking around the mall killing time before I have to be somewhere. read more

Southgate is probably the best mall in Edmonton. Throughout the years it has always been well maintained and kept up to date. The new renovations are really nice. It's no where near as large as West Ed, but it still seems to have every store I ever want to go to. Also no where as crazy and busy as West Ed. Convenient connection to LRT and buses if you're coming on transit, but also a good amount of parking. I try to leave West Ed to the tourists as much as I can, and stick to Southgate. read more

I must say that this is definitely my mall of choice when it comes to Edmonton. It's very clean and I'm SO glad they renovated to get some better stores. Basically you can find everything you could ever need in Southgate without going to WEM, which is good cause i hate that mall. There are tons of buses that stop at the mall and there is an LRT station attached so it's quite convenient to get to. They have some great stores so I recommend you go and check it out. read more

Overall a pretty good mall , all the staff is friendly and I enjoyed the variety of stores in this particularly mall. The only complaints I have is the bad lighting makes the mall seem like a dungeon and the employees at American eagle were snotty when reminded to add a sale discount that had been advertised. read more

I visited Southgate for the first time since the grand opening on Aug 5, and it looks great! The layout is still a little confusing, but they have a lot of great new stores like Coach, Sephora, and Kiehls (the only store in western Canada, I think). read more

Nice mall. Not too crowded and clean. Dropped in to go to ivivva, of course for the wife. She buys kids clothes because they fit her. I like it because they're clothes are cheaper than LuLuLemon. Small mall but they have some nice stores here. The food court was clean and empty so it was nice to just walk up and order something quick. I'm used to the crowded mess like at Vaughan Mills mall. Maybe it could also be the fact that it was Christmas eve and everyone was at home. Anyways, it was nice to have most of the mall to myself. read more

Southgate has become one of my favorite malls in Edmonton since their makeover a few years ago. Since then, they've continuously been acquiring some of my favorite stores, particularly Aritzia and Banana Republic. The Sephora, MAC, and Apple stores here are great too. Everything in Southgate is a little smaller than you would find in other shopping centres, but it makes the overall size of the entire mall more manageable and you can usually finish all your shopping without wasting an entire day of your life here. Furthermore, because Southgate is newer, it looks considerably cleaner and more modern than West Ed and other malls in the city. Even the bathrooms are nicer! LRT access makes this a quick stop for students, and it still remains a transit hub for buses to the rest of the city. All good, Southgate. read more

Well when it comes to south mall you really have one choice Southgate, so it blows its competition out of the water. Its usually pretty clean looks modern and has the LRT station attached...sweet..The stores cater to lavish to just your average material. This mall pretty much has all your shopping needs, the foodcouirt sucks though same old same old. The crowds are bareable and not skiddish..hmmm hmmm Millwoods town Center....I recommend you totally hit up this joint. read more

I really like to go to Southgate more than WEM because on a saturday afternoon you could easily find a parking spot in the new parking area which was recently built in Southgate. They also have nice food court which was recently renovated with lots of different varieties of food. This a nice place go to on Saturday afternoon. read more

This mall is easy to access off the Whitemud & 111street and totally worth the drive (if you don't live closeby). It has The Bay, Sears, Safeway & a restaurant on the South-West corner so you can shop & eat dinner. Parking is usually busy so prepare to walk. All the fAvorites like Sephora, Crate&Barrell, Lego, Lululemon & Apple. Busy on weekends but good sales & nice clean mall! read more

I enjoy shopping at this mall since it carries most of the stores that I shop at. The layout is fairly straight forward and if you are lost, there is a directory never too far away. I sometimes wish it wasn't so popular since it is always busy. Me + shopping crowds = Irritable Me, but I understand the appeal since it carries many of the specialty or brand name stores without having to go to WEM. It is always clean and during the day there is a lot of natural light which I like. It also has a good variety of vendors in the food court and if you are feeling like a sit down meal at a restaurant, you can go to State and Main since it is attached to the mall. read more

Although there isn't a huge selection of stores, the quality of the mall as a whole is much better than WEM. The renovations they did definitely improved the image of the mall and with a lot of the popular retail brands being carried here, it's easier to come here and find what I'm looking for rather than driving all the way to the west end. I do like Southgate. It's close, and with the massive renos they did a while back, it looks nice and trendy and upscale. During the busy season (aka Christmas) it can get pretty busy and I have a tendency to be overwhelmed in crowds. The mall is easy to maneuver and it contains really great stores. read more

In Edmonton, this is probably my favourite mall. Clean and good looking, this mall makes me want to spend time in it. Parking can be a little bit hectic if you don't know where to park, but I find the new parkade addition to be the best place -- keeps you out of the rain and snow also! read more

While the expansion to the mall is beautiful, Southgate is for the most part, an expensive place to shop. It's often crowded, likely due to the nearby high schools. If I happen to be in the area, I'll drop by, but it's not a place I'll go out of my way to visit. Some cheap finds can be had though! I'll drop into Safeway, The Bay, EB Games and the greeting card stores. I found that EB Games was excessively crowded every time I've gone though. So much so that the lineup to the register curled around the store, making it difficult to browse anything. read more

The new and improved southgate mall is fantastic! The bathrooms are ultra-high end, even for mothers they have convenient couches and a playplace for the child in the washroom area near the food court. The new food court has a great selection, as well as lots of seating and some nice decorations. read more

I love going here to shop and peruse the stores. It's not crazy busy as WEM always seems to be, but it can have its crowded moments. Even going here this past Thanksgiving (holiday Monday), it was packed. But not social-anxiety "OMG THERE'S TOO MANY PEOPLE" kind of way, like it usually happens to me. We found parking, even on a busy holiday, quite easily. I'd say the majority of people in the stores in Southgate are friendlier and more approachable than most other shopping centres in the city. The selection of stores are unique and not dated, even the local ones like Groovestone (love this store). The mall's last renovation is aging well and the building, inside/out, looks aesthetically pleasing. I do wish all the stores that WEM has exclusively were here at Southgate. But if I were to have the choice between either mall and they have the same store, even though I live in the Westend, I will come here. read more

Though not very big but it is turning out to be the best mall in the city. Easily accessible through public transport, it has a wide selection of shopping for all your needs. The food court is much bigger now and has different varieties of food such as Greek, South Asian, Asian, etc. read more

I have been going to Southgate since the late 1980's, it has always had a reputation of being a great mall, they have always kept the best selection of stores, great food choices, and is kept clean. This is one of the few places in Edmonton that you can find great fashions, for all ages, and for male/female customers....it is a fashion mall, The Bay even stopped carrying furniture and moved in more clothing upstairs. You will not see independent T-Shirt, leather, and pet stores that normally fill up empty dead malls retail space. The renovation that they did a few years ago was outstanding. I think it was a no-brainer to spend the money on the mall, due to the fact that it always has a steady flow of people, and the LRT has helped make it very accessible for all to get there. Nice mall but we can no longer come here with out 4 year old daughter if we plan to be here for longer than her little legs can handle because she is a whole half an inch too tall for the kids cart at their customer service and they're pretty strict with their policies. So much for doing most of our Xmas shopping here like most years. Off to WEM I guess. Have to pay for the cart but at least there's no height restriction. read more

APPLE STORE in southgate mall is totaly bullshit, all they say "first come first service" but no body on the line and if you ask them "i want to upgrade my 3G iphone to iphone4" this time all they say "you need appointment". i was there 3 freaking time, once 8:30 which is they opens at 10am and guess what, everytime i go there asking about upgrading to iphone 4 all they say "we booked to all day". where the f... is first come first service, no body around and i'm standing there which is i'm ready to do bussines with them not the others, so this happens 3 strait f...ing days and guess what, if you go there before they open and ask them i want new phone plan or buy out iphone 4 you are welcome, if you tell them i want to upgrade my current plan to iphone4 they kinda says go f... yourself, because buy out price $650 and $750, upgrade is only $150-160... nice f...ing bussines move losers....people work in that store, they dont even know what time is the mall open or apple store which is they are working there... i talk to 3 different apple store workers and one of them told me come here around 9:50am which is fail, 2nd one told me 9:30am and fail too, 3rd one told me 9am and i was there 8:30 fail too, so not about the time you showed up about the buy something expensive.... read more
