The renovations they have done to this mall has been a great improvement. There are a couple decent anchor stores in this mall such as Simons and The Bay. The food court was clean and they have Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds for coffee options in this mall. Unfortunately there are a lot of independent mish mash stores that seem very empty selling low quality clothing. Overall, the mall is great for running errands and finding one or two things you specifically need. read more

I have lived by Londonderry Mall my entire life. I've watched it go through many changes and ups & downs. Before the mall was renovated in 1992, it was very dark and gloomy, but now it's very bright and more modern-looking. The makeover didn't really benefit this mall that much. In fact, in became pretty lame. When Wal-Mart moved here, this brought in tons of traffic, and I would say it's what kept this mall alive. After Wal-Mart left, many great stores closed down, including the GAP. (I still can't forgive them for taking it away from me!) This mall was stagnant for quite some time, but over the past five years, this mall has been slowly improving once again. Some of the best stores are HMV, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Game City, Le Chateau, Payless. Winners, Army & Navy, Coles, Spasation, Shoppers Drug Mart, Purdy's, Save-on-Foods, and The Great Room Company. The Bay is here too, but it's probably the worst one (minimal selection) in the entire city. Oh, and I almost forgot--there's a Library here as well! The mall's food court is the best, since it has big screen TVs, a water wall, and all the fast-food favourites. There's Taco Time, New York Fries, Edo, Booster Juice, Arby's, Orange Julius, Opa!, A&W, and lots more. McDonald's and Second Cup are also in the mall. The customer service area, located in the centre of the mall, is a great place to come for a rest. There's many flat-screen TVs and large comfy chairs and couches. Londonderry Mall has always had a reputation of bringing in many famous people--usually it's something for the kids or a band for the teenagers. When I was a kid, and before the mall was renovated, I saw Richard Simmons! Woohoo. Lucky me. Five years ago, I would have given this mall a two-star rating for sure. Maybe now I am giving it four instead of three, since it's my neighbourhood mall (I'm probably slightly biased), but it has improved considerably. The mall has definitely been enhanced to a quality rating. With the introduction of Simon's coming in the fall of 2017, I think this mall will gain the attention it is craving. The renovations recently completed are beautiful, clean and simple. The new food court is bright airy and full of life and style. The mall is easy to navigate and lots of windows and space to walk. Something the mall is lacking is the amount of stores. If you arnt looking for groceries, tea or coffee. There's not much for fashion aside from Winners and some women's stores. The other stores are fine but it's in need of more stores. Lots of vacancies. I'm so glad a Starbucks has finally come to the mall. And it's a really nice Starbucks too. Maybe I'm just bias cause I love Starbucks. Outside of that... It's an ok mall that looks amazing. read more

Being a west end girl, I usually head to the big mall when I need to pick up something. But one Saturday we were on the northside and had some time to kill before dinner so we went shopping at Londonderry. It's too bad we didn't have more time to look around and check out the stores. We did find the Shoppers Drug Mart and it was big and bright. I am a fan of the newer SDMs and this one had everything I was looking for. Not far was the library. I love malls that have a library inside as it makes it so convenient and also encourages people to visit. They have a section downstairs of magazines and my sister found a few she liked. There are 2 self serve check outs that were occupied but freed up quickly. We walked through The Bay and that was about it. It looked like there were some other decent stores to check out. Maybe next time I'm on the northside. read more

It has been a long time since I have been to Londonderry Mall. Needless to say, I went there last weekend and was blown away by how different it is! The fountain is beautiful and I can't believe how high it goes! Despite the wonderful renovations, the mall still wasn't very busy. It was mostly teenagers, with nothing else to do , hanging out. Londonderry has a lot of great stores. I stopped into Save-On Foods, Dollarama, Your Florist, and Urban Behavior - all great stores! I know that I would never make a specific trip to shop at Londonderry, but when I'm on the North side of Edmonton, I will definitely stop to take another look around. read more

My new favourite mall. The renos are almost complete and they have done a fantastic job working on this place over the last year. This mall is clean and inviting. The stores are more trendy, independently owned, mixed in with some bigger players like, Simons (a modern and fashionable department store. The food court is decent, it's got everything you need including ample seating and TV's too! The bathrooms are all brand new and they are family friendly. They have a little teeny loo for kiddos in the family and disabled cubicle. It's the only mall I really want to go to because they have the stores (I personally find) that are more fashion forward and it's not too big either. They just need to get a Sephora in there and it's a dream mall destination! read more

If you haven't been to Londonderry Mall it might be time for a visit. I have always kind of liked this mall. It's not to big not to small. Yes, it has gotten to be run down and kind of dingy, but over the last 2 years there have been some major improvements happening. For one thing the upstairs bathroom is looking pretty stellar with new tiling and stalls. I love a nice new clean bathroom. Also the majority of the mall has or is being retiled which is giving it a nice fresh look. There has also been stores coming and going with some nice new additions such as a brand new Winners, David's Tea, a new shoe boutique and Simons, which is projected to open some time in 2017. They have ripped out a couple escalators which means more walking but it's all in the name of retail. Also all main entrances are getting a major face lift. With all these upgrades going on there are tons of trade workers wondering the mall so plenty of bonus eye candy ladies. Ha Hah. read more

A breath of fresh air! I was here on Black Friday for a quick stop expecting it to be nuts.. but it was totally chill! What a relief. This mall is so clean too and maybe since it's kind of out of the way, it's also seems very quiet. You can do all your shopping without getting crowed angry! Best part? It has a Simon's! I am I'm total disbelief that mall could be run more terribly then this one. Store closing 15-20 min earlier then the actual mall? Food court vendors closed early? I have to unfortunately work in this mall until 1am in one of the stores I look after and I now have to leave the mall to get food. I cannot believe that a mall that prides itself on being a prestigious mall would allow this to happen. Since their termination of their own private security, they now have rent-a-cops who "patrol" their hallways. I use the word patrol very loosely as they don't do such a thing. The mall used to give out fines for late openings and early closing...I guess their cost cutting measures are going to cost them the loosely used word "prestigious" from their title. read more

This place is probably the most average mall in Edmonton. It's neither great but it's not exactly bad at the same time. This place has the usual suspects: HMV, Urban Behavior, Sportchek...you've seen it all before. My main problem with this mall is that there are way too many bored, emo teenagers hanging around. They're kind of an eyesore in my opinion...they look so miserable. But I guess after Twilight it's cool to look miserable, right? Is that how it goes? If you're looking to do some really shopping, I would suggest you check out Southgate or the obvious West Edmonton Mall. read more

Londonderry Mall isn't really the worst mall or the best mall. It's sort of somewhere in between. If you want to do some real shopping you would still have to go to West Ed. The mall has a library, HMV, sportchek, save-on food, and that's about all that is worth mentioning. They have some other OK stores but nothing that would make this mall stand out from others. It is a lot like Kingsway and has nothing really great going on for it. I might check it out if I am in the area but only if I really need something quick. Otherwise I would just wait and go somewhere else. read more

Another user wrote "Londonderry is like the North side equivalent of Bonnie Doon mall." and this person is right. I visited this mall for the first time ever, after living here for over 30 years, and it had that same feel. There's a lot of stores but they're just smaller versions of stores you'd find anywhere else. There's also no "Wal-Mart" type store, which I find odd. They have a Bay store and Shoppers Drug Mart but that's as close as they come. I'm not shopping at either for any Wal-Mart type items. The mall also has this odd little section by the Security office where all the kids from the High School near by hang out. I walked by it and thought it felt like a teen age daycare center. Anyway, I have no reason to ever venture over this far east much anyway so I think this was a one time visit only for me. read more

As a mom of a young child, I absolutely adore Londonderry Mall. It has a big, open layout where you feel you can take your time and you don't need to rush. There are beautiful water fountains and water features (like water walls and pools surrounded by sitting areas) throughout the mall which thrill my daughter to no end... and a suggestion to parents, make sure you have pennies! There are also features to Londonderry Mall that other malls can't match. One of my favorite things about West Ed is those strollers you can rent if your child gets tired and decides they are no longer walking. However, at West Ed these cost $5 ($6 goes into the machine, you get $1 back upon returning the stroller) and at Londonderry this feature is free, you can just borrow one from Customer Service. Also the variety of stores is wonderful; from higher end womens clothes like at Suzanne's to childrens clothing at Please Mum or Army and Navy, not to mention everything in between. From reading other reviews, I have learnt that there are more features to this mall then I have seen yet... such as the library... guess I will have to go back and explore some more! :) If you can make it to Londonderry, I believe that it is the best mall in Edmonton north of the river. read more

Oh Londonderry Mall... There are a couple things you should take note of before you go: 1) Don't go during the lunch hours during weekdays. They students from Londonderry Junior High and M.E. LaZerte High School hog all the food court line ups (You want a McDonald's burger at 12:00? Consider going somewhere else...or wait.) 2) Selection of stores are limited. Check the site before you go shopping to see what stores are there. Sadly, it doesn't live up to Kingsway. The stores that are there are pretty good. Lots of selection in each of the stores, usually. I really wish that Londonderry would renovate again to make it even more appealing. read more

This mall has changed so much! I am usually not in the area, but seeing that Londonderry Mall now has the second Simon's in Edmonton -- I'm sold. Very clean, renovated and classy for Edmonton. Definitely makes the mall experience much more pleasant to take in. Great range of shops, with more still to explore. Will definitely be coming back, even if it is just for Simon's! read more

This mall was a one time oasis for a young Arc who played hoops on the 9ft nets at the nearby Londonderry Junior High. Those nets made us feel like NBA pros as we could easily dunk on them. The cherry on that sundae was punctuated with a post game Orange Julius in the mall. Now, it feels like a bit of a war zone. Smaller stores than any mall I have been to recently, patrons who's average age cannot be over 25 with a number of kids and a food court that has slim pickings health-wise; it's hard for me to make a case that I have a the same fondness for it that I once did. It isn't an awful mall it just feels like it is underachieving. Nice Winners? Is that the best I can say about it? Good sales at the Bay? Maybe this is the way its always been and I've just out grown it. read more

I used to come to Londonderry all the time, as it was near my old house and middle school. Since then it's undergone a lot of change, and my most recent visit here brought some surprises. I couldn't believe they got rid of the Wal-Mart. What were they thinking?? That's the only reason everybody comes to this mall at all! To me, it's kind of like Kingsway, only smaller. A neighbourhood mall, pretty much, where you would go to pick up things you need, but not necessarily somewhere to do some serious shopping. Actually, as long as there's West Ed, I don't think any mall in Edmonton would be good for hardcore shopping. I like that Londonderry has the library inside the mall though. Not many other shopping centres in town have that. It's convenient because you can do your shopping and return your books all in one stop. The food court isn't too shabby either, even though it hasn't changed much over the years. They have Scoops, the old-fashioned ice-cream place, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I used to come here all the time with my friends for serious float cravings. While it's a mall that remains on the periphery of my mind, I still enjoy it when I'm in the area. I think it's probably because I don't come here that often that each visit seems like a mix of new and nostalgia. read more

Renovations at the mall are excellent. Interior makes this mall the most aesthetically appealing in Edmonton. Adding a two floor Simon's (only the second location in Edmonton) has uplifted the whole mall. The food court has good selection as well. Less people come here than Kingsway making it easier to shop and smaller lines. read more

I will go out of my way to go to this mall. This was one of the first to brighten up its interior - what Kingsway is doing now, Londonderry did over a decade ago. They've managed to keep it up to date and add stores, services and restaurants that people actually use. My favourite is the comedy club. It does seem that a lot of stores rotate in and out of this mall which makes it interesting. I much prefer the parking at Londonderry when compared to Kingsway or Westmount. I don't think I've ever seen the parking lot filled to capacity as I have with pretty much every other mall. read more

Since my last review there has been a number of announcements made finally about what exactly is going on in the mall. Londonderry is now in the process of starting renovations that look to be fully completed in early 2017. This includes changes like a brand new food court,Simon's store,and more in mall sit down dining options. I am not sure exactly of the full listing of new stores that will be brought in but after seeing the sketches of what look the mall is going for it appears that they are getting a face lift similar to the one Kingsway received several years ago. The mall is still in quite a bit of disarray like I mentioned in my prior review. Two of the escalators have been totally ripped out and the other ones were turned off when I went to the mall today on the side that goes up. I have heard some grumbling about this from other shoppers as it now leaves seniors,the disabled,and mothers with strollers stuck using the small elevator by the security office. A number of the smaller stores have also packed up and moved out or are in the process of doing so like Fly Jeans and the leather store. There is a new David's Tea store taking one of the empty spaces downstairs but I have not heard much else about other stores coming to occupy the other empty storefronts. I for one am interested to see how the inevitable waves of curious new shoppers are going to interact with the malls typical demographic of young families and older shoppers. I can't wait to see the changes and just wish they would work a little harder on getting the new shops in quicker as opposed to ripping things out and doing the cosmetic changes. read more

Never really thought much of this mall until recently when I met someone who lives near here and started shopping here more regularly. Not the biggest mall by far but there is a good range of stores here! For me the best part is the PJ's Pets, Winners, and Mr. Sub all in one place!! They also have most of the clothing stores I like. I don't think I have ever been here when it's been super busy (even Boxing Day morning was very reasonable). Seems clean and there is lots of parking. Maybe not my first choice but definitely a good choice I would say! read more

This mall is the definition of "okay". There are some key things that make this unfriendly to an ordinary patron and a mom with a stroller - no downstairs bathrooms (that I could find), small elevators, unsavory clientele to name a few. The stores are pretty standard for your garden variety Mall. Nothing stands out and there are almost no special events planned to attract the community. The upgrades are nice but are taking an extraordinary amount of time and are incredibly inconvenient for shoppers. Like I said, it's just okay. read more

I love londonderry mall, and I am there 5 days a week or more (No, I'm not a mall rat! I work at the mall!) I like that it has a Library, and the Bay, and two different banks, and I like that it has stores that appeal to every age group, (Seniors, Middle age, Young adults, Teens and Children). The mall is nicely decorated, and has nice tropical trees, and has nice plants throughout the mall! I really like that it has TGR home there, with really funky furniture, thats not just pretty to look at, but is affordable. I like that when I am on my break, I have a variety of places to get my lunch from, from sit-in restaurants like Alberts, to healthy option restaurants, like Cafe supreme, and Mr Sub! I also like having Purdys Chocolates in the mall, when I want an Ice-cream bar with almonds. (YUM!!!) The only thing I would change about Londonderry mall, would be for it to have my three favorite stores: lululemon, Ambercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle. Even though things can get rowdy by the mall rats, and the ME Lazerte kids at lunchtime, that totally take over the mall, to the point you cannot even find a place to eat peacefully, or even to sit. It can be really annoying, burt when they arent there, the mall is really an enjoyable place to go. read more

I come here because my optometrist is here. It's bright and clean, but I find that it's a little dull if you want to spend any time shopping. The shoppers is nice an big, and having a library and grocery store in the mall are a plus, but this is not somewhere I go out of my way to shop at. The quality of retailers just isn't there anymore. If I happen to be there for an appointment and need to pick something up that I can get, I'll do it. Otherwise, its never on my list of places to go. read more

For the most part the mall has all the basics and is great place to come shopping with kids as they have the Toys R Us Express! I mostly just come to the mall for hair treatments at Spasation but don't mind browsing the mall each time and scoring some good deals. read more

I have lived near Londonderry Mall most of my life. It is full of clothing boutiques for teenagers and there are very few clothing stores for middle-aged women. The only department store is The Bay and it is like a ghost town. There are only few tills to pay for your purchase at, and even less workers around to help you find what you are looking for. Also, there are all kinds of young, emo type of people wandering this mall all the time. This makes it uncomfortable to shop there. These youngsters are very rambunctious and hyper and don't hesitate to walk into people and run down the malls walkways. The lounge area is nice and big but has a lot of the youngsters fooling around in there like it was a playground. I would love to some other department store open up there. Having only The Bay and Army Navy does not cater to the shoppers that want a little higher class shopping options. read more

I luv this mall, it's got enough to keep you busy but not enough to overwhelm you or frustrate you when a million people walk into you. I especially luv the davids tea store that is there and all the girls in it. Winnie, Summer, Samar, Alicia and Erika helped me in tough times and really brightened my day. Coming here while it was under construction was a pain, but the construction turned out to be very worth it. The mostly finished mall looks great and is modern and clean. The water features throughout are nice. I also noticed when I was in there the other day, they are bringing in a Starbucks on the top floor! Hopefully this is an indication that they're planning on adding some higher end stores and services. read more

Have been coming to this mall fairly often for yrs, nice to see the reno's but I personally don't think the businesses the management has brought in will stand up to the community. It is getting more like a north side version of southgate mall which is high end for the most part. There are mostly families in Londonderry area which most are of modest means...don't see how they can afford the higher end stores. In the end when you look at high lease costs etc not see how this will do well. I am also disappointed to find out that with all the money put into renos there is no coffee places in the new food court, only the Tim Horton's on 2nd floor and McDonald's on main and it is unknown if they will ever bring in any other coffee place...NOT everyone likes Timmies or McD's. Management just shot themselves in the foot just on that basis alone. Before the renos started there were a few good coffee places ... second cup & LaPrep. Sadly won't be making an extra trip to Londonderry anytime soon....not worth the extra gas & time. read more
