I'm not a hockey fan at all, so I had never been in this store before. A friendly worker (maybe owner) greeted me, when I walked in. This place was full of sports merchandise--mostly hockey, but there was some football and a bit of soccer stuff too. I really like the t-shirts of old school football teams. They were made so they looked "vintage." Lots of jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, and a whole lot of caps lined the walls. There were a few large displays of Oilers merchandise, like yo-yos, keychains, mugs, pucks, clocks, toy cars--pretty much anything you can think of. I ended up getting my friend an Oilers t-shirt and a toothbrush. I mean, who doesn't want to put the Oilers in their mouth? Okay, bad joke.

Unfortunately they didn't have the Oiler's hat that I wanted and she recommended another place. She was helping another person before me and listening to her you can tell she is passionate and knows her stuff. Only issue, the company cuts costs and doesn't give business cards at this store. Cheap, and not a real cost cutter, and the signed Oiler's gear got sent to the Oiler's store in Kingsway. Which is a joke and we won't go back due to the horrible lack of service, or even acknowledgement that there are actual shopping customers in that store (4 of us). This place, though, was great! Friendly and superior service. Someone get this lady, Faith, to train other staff at other stores. OR fire those ASSHATS at the Oiler's store in Kingsway and get her in there.

Costco Wholesale - Mobility cart for the win! They finally have enough carts & gives disabled more control over their shopping experience

At first I was worried that I would have to grip the bar tightly to drive (like a quad) but this mobility cart is created for those with stiff to similar to arthritic hands or in general low hand mobility/dexterity. I really appreciate the guy taking time to ask me & then to give a quick tutorial. Great for left & right hand users too. Wasn't sure if the cart would hold the charge as it was questionable on the display (and they were all hushed together plugged in) but I made it to all my necessary items plus grabbed a few more as the charge seemed to be holding strong (I never did the crazy covid TP stock up, but for small wins of the day, it was kind of exciting to be able to reach that far back into the store & by myself vs asking friends to walk the distance on behalf of me). The mobility cart is a bit touchy & definitely don't want to take it down the shorter cut through aisles (as the turning radius isn't there with such a big basket). For the most part it gave me the freedom to do more of my own personal shopping (granted the getting up & down was quickly maxing out my knees) as I wasn't allocating shopping time & walking distance to what pain I'm in & what pain I will be in if I go any further on the hard cement floor. That's a huge deal in my mind to leave Costco only slightly worse than I entered. As I was shopping with my other 2 friends (as I usually go with at least one person to be my legs for the further distances &/or arms to help carry or push a cart), this was the first time in ages I could offer to be the one "driving the cart". We all got what we needed & were happily surprised to see self-checkouts installed at this location. Made it much faster than the traditional stand in line for 20 min. Not only are the self checkouts well spaced for those really big Costco carts & have a side area large enough for all the items you might buy but they had 3 staff on hand to help with self-checkout. One in particular that was very good at approaching someone disabled & very kind & observant with what would be harder to scan myself (basically everything larger in my cart). I think besides the fruit, I had 2 small boxes I scanned myself. Super fast. I don't know if all those tills are marked for disabled users or if I got lucky to find the right self-checkout till (it has the blue icon on the screen) but this staff member was really good at letting me know they could get someone else to assist me with loading in my vehicle (a first ever offered to me by Costco) & where to return the mobility cart. As I had my friends going with me into the parking lot, I wasn't too worried about loading. I could always call them over to help if needed. I sat back down to back the cart up & I had another Costco attendant almost behind me already offering to drive it back into the store for me. That way I didn't have to walk all the way back out. I don't know what kind of new hiring method Costco is doing but keep it up. Seriously. Those 3 employees deserve some gold stars! On a side note, I've shopped at this Costco for more years. There's still some work with other staff, aisle spacing & general customer awareness that would assist with the success of mobility carts being used regularly but this is definitely the right step towards becoming better for those that need more accessible options. Again, this is the first time I've ever noticed more than one mobility cart & long overdue to have staff that can recognize those that need assistance. Heck even give recognition that a box won't work for someone with a cane... I really hope this isn't a one off experience as honestly this could change how often I shop. Way to step it up Costco.

The third time I didn't until later and this was an $89 Amount extra. I don't know how many times I have not checked my receipts and how much they have charged me. This is not small change. Also careful of their pharmacy. They've charged amounts for medication that are over and above or elsewhere. Horrible staff and Costco supports very concerning Behaviour from the staff. Not reliable for what you have requested and may not give you the actual request for medication. Stop going along while ago, even though I did try to bring the concerns that werefact based. Costco really you go you spend a lot of money, but it is becoming very poorly run. There are some better than others and most of us stay away from this north and Costco as much as we can and will drive extra just so we can go to a cleaner and a better variety as well as you don't get ripped off as often.

Much like Ricki's they stock women's work wear as well as casual everyday garments. I do find the emphasis however at Cleo is more on work wear as opposed to their casual clothes. I also find the prices at Cleo to be a bit on the expensive side. They had dresses going for $110.00 here and im quite certain I could have picked up something similar for around $60-$70 over at Ricki's or Reitmans. Also I find the styles here to be a bit better suited to more mature ladies. I think the staff must feel the same way as the associate working at the time of my visit seemed surprised to see me browsing in the store and the conversation that followed after her greeting me seemed a bit awkward and forced. They stock a nice product here but nothing about it really stands out and makes me want to become a regular customer. If you work in an office setting and find you go through your work wear quickly however you might want to consider popping in and taking a look.

Dynamite and its sister company "Garage Clothing" is a Canadian based company that sells exclusively to the female demographic. While Garage targets teens, Dynamite is said to target women in their late twenties. Personally I find their clothes appeals more to the late teens and early 20's age groups. The company has several locations in Edmonton and I mainly shop at the ones located inside Kingsway, Londonderry and West Edmonton Mall. Kingsway and Londonderry's locations are still set up using their "old" open store layout whereas West Edmonton Mall's has been reno-ed to become their "new age" store with displays out in the front half-blocking the view of the store which makes you enter the store to look at everything and not just window shop. The new store is definitely more modern looking with a glam chic vibe when you first walk into the store with their overhead lighting and sparkling silver displays. I would describe Dynamite's clothing as a trendy, business wardrobe shopping destination. The quality and prices are decent. ex. blouses for $20 to $30. Dress pants for $35 to $45. They carry tops, bottoms (including jeans), jewelery, belts and lately I noticed pj's. I like how the company uses different fabrics for their blazers and its not always just cotton. I recently bought a black satin set which the collection consisted of 3/4 sleeve black blazer, black halter vest, black capri's and black skinny pants. I purchased all the separate coordinating pieces except for the pants since I prefer my business dress pants to be flared/boot cut in style. Depending on how the pieces get put together, the pieces can be dressed up for meetings or down for casual Fridays. I have found customer service to be lacking at times (but I guess thats everywhere nowadays) and I really like that the company's fashions can easily go from a day in the office to an evening out on the town with friends.

When I came into the store initially I had a staff member with a headset walk right past me without giving me the time of day but a lady standing in their clearance section was very nice and let me know about the sales they had going on. Alot of the clothing seems appropriate for dressy casual and alot of what they had out was darker colors. I thought this was odd considering we are heading into spring soon (well hopefully) and alot of the stores are bringing out their brighter colored clothes and accessories. The prices seemed affordable with tops in the ten to thirty dollar range and pants in the twenty five to forty dollar range. If we were just coming up on winter I might have bought some of the tops. The quality seems pretty good for what they charge for them. I think it is important to note they don't do plus sizes and I couldn't even find anything in an extra large. I am not saying they don't carry it it's just that I could not find it. If your more full figured like myself this probably is not going to be the store for you but if your average sized and in Londonderry mall it is at the very least worth a quick glance.
