Winners Apparel - Winners at Londonderry Mall

Here's the deal with Winners: there's a whole lot of crappy, irregular, odd, rejected clothing, but…read moreamongst the crappiness there are definitely some awesome items. I got my very first pair of Converse All Star sneakers here for half the price they'd be in another store, and I also got my second pair here for a steal of a deal as well. I've found a few nice shirts and some really nice pants. A lot of the dress pants will say "dry clean only." I've washed and dried both pairs that I bought and nothing happened to them--is this dry clean warning really a big conspiracy? I get lots of socks and underwear at Winners too, Last time, I found this amazing pair that had a comic strip pattern all over it with a hot pink trim! But why does the underwear rack have to be right by the change rooms? There's a chair right in front of it, and half the time there's a guy sitting there waiting for his girlfriend, and I just get a little embarrassed of someone watching me go through underwear. For some reason, I'm okay with broadcasting the type of undies I like all over Yelp--makes total sense, I know. The housewares section is also worth checking out at Winners. There's some great deals on otherwise expensive brand-name stuff like pots and pans. I've seen some really unique items like pink kettles and knights in armour statues. The styles of everything at Winners really varies from really conservative to very funky, so I think practically anyone can come here and possibly find something they'll love.

I am not a big Winners fan but of all the stores in the city I find the Londonderry location the…read moreeasiest to shop in. You wont find the same amount of clothing stock here that you find in City Center and WEM but a big advantage of that is you have far less odd out of fashion items to have to sort through before getting to the good stuff. The housewares and knick knack selection seems pretty standard to what you would find at other locations. The staff are pretty friendly and the store is tidy and well organized. I will never be a regular shopper but I don't mind it if im in the mall and have some time to kill.

I started shopping at Dynamite in my teens, stopped for a few years and just recently started…read moreshopping with the company again. Dynamite and its sister company "Garage Clothing" is a Canadian based company that sells exclusively to the female demographic. While Garage targets teens, Dynamite is said to target women in their late twenties. Personally I find their clothes appeals more to the late teens and early 20's age groups. The company has several locations in Edmonton and I mainly shop at the ones located inside Kingsway, Londonderry and West Edmonton Mall. Kingsway and Londonderry's locations are still set up using their "old" open store layout whereas West Edmonton Mall's has been reno-ed to become their "new age" store with displays out in the front half-blocking the view of the store which makes you enter the store to look at everything and not just window shop. The new store is definitely more modern looking with a glam chic vibe when you first walk into the store with their overhead lighting and sparkling silver displays. I would describe Dynamite's clothing as a trendy, business wardrobe shopping destination. The quality and prices are decent. ex. blouses for $20 to $30. Dress pants for $35 to $45. They carry tops, bottoms (including jeans), jewelery, belts and lately I noticed pj's. I like how the company uses different fabrics for their blazers and its not always just cotton. I recently bought a black satin set which the collection consisted of 3/4 sleeve black blazer, black halter vest, black capri's and black skinny pants. I purchased all the separate coordinating pieces except for the pants since I prefer my business dress pants to be flared/boot cut in style. Depending on how the pieces get put together, the pieces can be dressed up for meetings or down for casual Fridays. I have found customer service to be lacking at times (but I guess thats everywhere nowadays) and I really like that the company's fashions can easily go from a day in the office to an evening out on the town with friends.

I decided to check out Dynamite as I am in the middle of of a quest to beef up my wardrobe with…read moremore dressy clothing. When I came into the store initially I had a staff member with a headset walk right past me without giving me the time of day but a lady standing in their clearance section was very nice and let me know about the sales they had going on. Alot of the clothing seems appropriate for dressy casual and alot of what they had out was darker colors. I thought this was odd considering we are heading into spring soon (well hopefully) and alot of the stores are bringing out their brighter colored clothes and accessories. The prices seemed affordable with tops in the ten to thirty dollar range and pants in the twenty five to forty dollar range. If we were just coming up on winter I might have bought some of the tops. The quality seems pretty good for what they charge for them. I think it is important to note they don't do plus sizes and I couldn't even find anything in an extra large. I am not saying they don't carry it it's just that I could not find it. If your more full figured like myself this probably is not going to be the store for you but if your average sized and in Londonderry mall it is at the very least worth a quick glance.

Dear Customer Service,…read more I was in on the Urban Planet store Londonderry Mall Location in Edmonton to purchase some pijama pants which on Easter sale online from $12.80 for $7 each.  I was ruthlessly informed at the store by one of the supervisor that these pant never go on sale and tell me to buy from online but at the store there is no such offer.  Although that I have shown the supervisor that online price is currently on sale $7 and do not really said that the item is online only.  Then the next day I went to West Edmonton Mall Urban Planet location and they have these pijama pants on sale with the signage for $7 each so I took the photo of the sale sign and went back to Londonderry to show the person that inform me wrongly.   This time I spoke directly to the store manager named Tracy,  she seem absolutely did not care what I am saying with a photo proof of sale on Easter.  She said ruthlessly that she does not matching the price of this item for other stores mistakes or even head office.  She does not really care to change the price selling at $7 for customers service sake!  I was extremely upset at her altitude towards customer service...serveral staffs and customers also witness her extremely unpleasant and ruth tone of voice toward our conversation...in the end all I wanted was to inform the store to know better on the promotion of your own head office prices on sale items...Please forward my email to whom ever handling customer feedbacks and hopefully the store manager could be informed to improve her customer service skills...
