I was pleasantly surprised by the array of jewellery available by local artists. The store was bright, airy, modern, and fresh! I loved the tree at the entrance to the store used to display local jewellery! I found most of the clothing a little out of my price range - but many beautiful pieces none the less. I ended up purchasing a gorgeous little change purse after drooling over dozens and dozens of items. (And I mean that in the best way really.) In addition to women's clothing, they have shoes, handbags, fragrances, and makeup. They also have a wide variety of the Spanx hosiery line, which is something I would consider picking up for myself. A good slip and pantyhose are two staples every gal should have. I also noticed they have these cool home fragrance diffusers that look like tiny little lamps. They're very chic and modern, and would make a great gift for a woman of any age. Children's toys are sold here as well, in case you need to pick up something for the tiny tots. And if you're bringing them shopping with you, they have kids' toys there as well, to keep the kids occupied while you shop. What's different about All Tucked In is that they also specialize in fine bed linens. They have a separate room in the store where they keep all their bed linens, and you can ask them for the right fit and sizes for your bed. I guess that explains the name!

They only have a few sheets, pillow cases and covers to choose from. They offer custom linens for a hefty price too. You pick out the material you want and let them know what size you need and then they let you know the price. If you are rich and enjoy luxury you should come here. Anyways, in my pursuit of finding a reasonably priced dress to wear to a wedding, I decided to check it out again. And boy, was I impressed! I guess I caught the start of their 50% sale sale... because there was a TON left and it was all SUPER cheap. Lots of great brands - Dex, Supertrash, S. Oliver, Kensie, etc... And it was funny how some great quality clothing that isn't necessarily popular in North America was the cheapest! I got an S. Oliver blouse for $12... which is insane, since they retail for around $60 in Europe. And Supertrash jeans for $15 (I had actually never heard of the brand before, but looked it up when I got home and I guess they're $150 jeans? nice!) They also seem to get a lot of unsold stuff from local stores - I saw American Eagle jewellery, shoes, and bags as well as Urban Outfitters jewellery. There is definitely some digging involved in this store (think thrifting), but it can be quite worth your time.

Located just south of the Edmonton city cemetery and literally behind (north) of Oliver Square. It can be a little tricky to find the first time. I have friends that have found some fabulous treasures here in the clothing liquidations but I haven't found that hidden Easter Egg yet. The layout is kinda like a thrift store but way less organized. You need time when you come here to sort and sift through the garbage to find the gems. Also, sign up for their email online for advance notice of sales and coupons. It's a fun little liquidation warehouse but it could be improved significantly with better organization and layout.

Torrid has been open for only a few days in Edmonton and so far, I'd say "So Far, So Good!"…read more Like many other Canadian Plus Size girls, I make sure I find the nearest Torrid anytime I'm south of the border. I've also shopped online when I was desperate, but between the exchange rate, extreme shipping costs, and the custom fees... you end up paying twice as much. The quality of Torrid's clothing though makes it almost worth it. So when we heard this store would be opening in December, I lost my mind! I chose to attend the grand opening of this location (The first in Edmonton) on December 10th. I was happy with the selection, though the Torrid website still holds much more than what you'll find in store. I expected the prices to be a little higher (thanks to the crappy exchange rate), but was still surprised with how high some of it was. I would put the prices on par with Addition Elle, which is a shame. But be sure to sign up for their emails and you'll get lots of deals and coupons sent to you!! The staff were absolutely fantastic while dealing with a group of excited shoppes. Honestly, they never looked stressed or overwelmed. I don't know what kind of training they go through to be able to handle that so well, but I think everyone should be made to train with them for a day before ever dealing with customers!

The studio is fairly spacious given the size, and kept neat and tidy. The class I recently tried here was called Poundfit (by Tracey K). You use these cool lime-green drumsticks called Pound RipStix - specially designed for beating objects (floor, the other stick, mats)! It's a great whole-body workout that focuses mainly on core, thighs, and arms/shoulders. Also, if you like to make noise, relieve stress, smack things together, or feel like a 10 year old while getting your sweat on, this class is for you :) There's some coordination-involved movements, but as long as you move with the beat in some form and smiling because you're having a good time then it's great! I highly recommend trying this class at least once! It's also offered by Tracey K at her main studio - Sculpt Barre South :) Have fun!

All Dots are like a thrift store version of Winners so you need to have time to hunt for the Easter Eggs or hidden treasures. Currently they have some pretty wicked novelty clearance items from Urban Outfitters as well as jewellery/accessories from Urban Outfitters. They have clothing brands from all over the world and they get progressively marked down; sign up for their emails for advance notice of sales and e-mail exclusive coupons. This is a great place for discounted books (I seriously found Choose Your Own Adventures in reprint at the other location for $3!!!!). They consistently have Dex clothing liquidations and other random brands including boutique brands. Today they had Eddie Bauer feather filled mittens! Definitely try your clothing on here though they do have a short 2 week exchange policy. They carry swimsuit 2 piece items throughout the year and usually around the $4-$8 price point. They carry the most random assortments but from time to time you'll find vinyl records, holiday greeting cards with the F-bomb in them, and funky magnets/office supplies. I've found sassy note pads here, great books for presents, hats galore (and usually about $5), runners for my kids (prices vary but cheap, cheap), and dresses for my daughter for under $5. Basically, you need to come here to figure out if this store is for you but plan on having some time to wander around and not be in a rush.

You know how, listening to the radio all the time (it doesn't seem to matter which station, just…read moreanything FM), you always hear about the blowout sales at Dots? They go something like this: "Get down to Dots for the biggest blowout sale of the season! Mexx! Rock'n'Republic! Some other well-known brand name! Now a lesser-known brand name! Even lesser-known brand name! What is that, I've never even heard of that brand name! Jeans are $10! Shirts are $2! You can't miss this!" So, you can see why I was always a little bit skeptical. Why would I want jeans for $10? Those have to be knock-offs, or just terrible quality. Plus it never sounded like they carried a ton of brands I was super into. But I was having a girly day the other day (I know, that seems to be a theme in a lot of my reviews) and on my way back into the city from South Common I spotted Dots. Why not? I had half an hour to kill. Here's the thing about Dots. I can totally understand why someone would absolutely hate shopping here. It's like shopping at Winners, only more frustrating. The clothes are jam packed onto rack upon rack. And there are just so many racks. The items are helpfully organized by brand (and sometimes size as well), but that doesn't negate how completely overwhelming it is to walk in here. I would say that 95% of the clothes in Dots are things I would never wear. They're either off-trend, aimed at an older demographic, poor quality, or just plain ugly. But if you take your time, this place can be magic. I found the most beautiful dress I think I've ever seen. Regular $130 (and supposedly, would be more at other stores) marked down to $30. Bought it! Now, the zipper was broken, which cost me another $40 at the tailor's (I know, total rip-off, but that's a whole 'nother review), but that's still almost a 50% discount. Not too shabby. I also found two other very cute, age-appropriate modern working girl kind of tops. They were both really inexpensive and really pretty! I don't think I'll have the patience to shop here often, but it was definitely worth it to come by, and when the mood strikes me (and the sales are on), I'll be back.
