As soon as we did, we were greeted by the owner herself whose name is Anna. She let us quietly browse store's selection. I looked through several racks of the cutest jackets, dresses, pants and tops. What Sanriela lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. All clothes are made in France, and they are fabulous! I bet that any little person who gets dressed at Sanriela is very popular on the playground: ) The following brands are sold at Sanriela: 3 Pommes, Catimini, Floriane, IKKS and Jean Bourget. The clothes are nicely tailored, made from good materials and overall look very fun yet presentable. I located grey wool dress that looked like little version of Chanel dress I once saw in an online couture boutique. How precious is that? I just can't justify dressing up kids in this stuff as I don't think a 7 year old should know her Burberry from her Diesel just yet! Let kids be kids and rip holes in their clothes and wear whatever! This store is really more for parents who want to create little fashionistas. For that reason I can't give this store a good rating as I really think it sends a horrible message and isn't for kids anyways. Plus, the customer service was not wonderful the day I was in there. I was ignored for the first 5 minutes and finally asked "do you need something?" before the sales girl went back to doing whatever it was she was doing. They typically get my kids to try on at least 3 pairs of shoes/ sandals/ boots, watch them as they walk in them, and then tell me whether they think they're a good fit or not. As for price, yes, it's more expensive ... but you also have staff who actually know what they're doing, instead of just picking something off a rack yourself at Walmart. I would prefer to spend the extra, and know that someone has actually taken a look at my kids' feet and the support they need. As someone who has had lots of issues with my own feet, including fallen arches, this is vitally important to me. I have never had issues with anyone here being rude to me. Busy, absolutely, but I feel very welcomed here and my kids love coming to the shop.

Outperforming the manager causes her to become insecure with herself so she will personally attack employees. Every employee present or past have a conflict with Dawn (manager). Even the relationship with Dawn and regional manager is very conflicting and petty. Dawn works only once in awhile for this location and expects supervisors to do all the work for her. Time for new management who will actually put in the work! Very lazy manager! Manager brings no value to the workplace.

You can hit some seriously good sales here and best part - you can return clothing to them with receipts and tags still on forever. So don't be afraid to stock up for next summer or winter and if your kiddo goes through a bizarre growth spurt you can still return. The staff are always willing to check for sizes at another store and I find are pretty friendly overall. The checkout lines always seem to move slow... not sure why but be prepared to wait. They carry Kombi gloves/hats which you can also buy at MEC or Campers Village for twice the price. I'll often get them here at 50% off or more after winter for the next season (super warm, washable, and durable). My kids love the Carters PJ's and at Xmas time they get in footed ones up to size 12. I'd really LIKE to see them bring in a 14 so my kids could continue to have adorable matching Xmas footie onesies but I know, I know... they have to stop the sizes at some point. Best second hand children's clothing in town!…read more When I was pregnant with my first child, my mother and I went to EVERY single consignment and used baby/children's shop we could find in Edmonton (about 15 of them)... many of which are now closed due to poor quality. Once Upon A Child stood out leaps and bounds beyond the rest! Their standard for quality is great! They do not accept dated or stained clothing unlike many of the used and consignment chops in town! They have a stamp card that you get stamped for every $10 in purchases... after filling up the card you get 20% off your next purchase. They also carry some new items including Bumbos and Robeez shoes! They aren't a consignment store but rather a used store where you can sell your gently used children's clothing for store credit or cash. If you select store credit to be used the same day - you save the GST on your purchase! They carry toys, strollers, cribs, high chairs, books, DVDs, and clothing! They carry children's clothing up to size 7 or 8. However, I have found that used children's clothing 2T and under is usually of the best quality because wee ones often wear their clothing only a few times - especially one time only holiday dresses. Once the kids are toddlers and running amok and eating grown up foods and growing slower it makes more sense that the clothing would be more worn. For 2T and under... why pay new when you can get close to new at a fraction of the cost?!?

They have a wide selection of sizes, from XSmall to 3X. I'm about a size 24/3X and some of their 3X items are almost too big on me, which always makes me smile. The staff treats me with the same respect they give small to average size women, which in my experience doesn't happen often in a plus/regular mix size store. Along with clothing, they have accessories, fun items like socks and sweets, and a wall of personal care items like bath bombs, body cream, hand sanitizer, and aromatherapy. The owner, Laura, is an amazing member of the community who supports other small businesses and brought joy to my family at a rough time when we were missing a loved one. She wasn't asked, she just offered and we will always be thankful to her for her act of kindness.
