We mainly stayed in the toy section, so we didn't venture over to the hobby side, but it looked like there was tons of stuff. Place was clean and well organized. Today, I left the adjacent Staples absolutely furious and disgusted with the complete incompetence and degenerate so called service and management (another story, but seriously, horrible). I was concerned that I was not in good frame of mind to conduct business with specific and costly art framing services, but I needed to use my day off to get it done... The framing staff member Kianna, was exemplary. She was extremely courteous and used her expertise to help me with my price consciousness and particular aesthetic interests. She was not condescending in any way and explained very clearly what her processes were and listened to what I was saying regarding my needs, hopes and timelines. She paid attention and came with suggestions and guidance in a way which showed me that she had my interests in mind. If I were to show or share to any service people what I would want and expect in really good customer service, I would playback the experience I had. In fact, I left feeling redeemed because she also clued me into the sale/deal which was within my timeline forthcoming and saved me a huge amount (not even kidding). It is hardly ever which I would go out of my way to share positive review of corporate chain stores, but, as they say, it is people which make the business good bad or in this case great. Full credit to Kianna, her team of coworkers and the management of the Terra Losa Michaels for turning my night from completely disgusted (disgraceful Staples in the same plaza), into very thankful and pleased/satisfied. (Don't worry, it's a pleasant smell- like stories and adventure!) They definitely specialize in cards and stationary, but they also have a massive collection of books. I saw some delightful pop up books and unusual stories for both children and adults. I could have spent hours browsing through all of them. They also have interesting household items and gifts, like DIY wall mounted cardboard heads, funny mugs, and pencil cases. Not to mention, their prices were quite a bit better than some other stationary shops in the neighbourhood! My favourite moment was picking up a Monty Python card ("I fart in your general direction!") that made me burst out laughing. I'll be back!

Last Christmas season, I did all of my shopping there and they wrapped it. That was worth it's wait in gold and that holiday was so much less stressful. We also get great service here. The selection is pretty similar to what you would find at other Chapter's stores as well as Indigo. If your a mystery lover however you may want to visit here as they have a much better variety then I have gotten at WEM Chapters as well as my beloved North side Indigo. Also I noticed they don't offer as much of the home decor gifts like the fancy throw pillows and candle holders which I am quite pleased with as I am not a fan. Quite frankly if I wanted that stuff I would go to Homesense but I don't and it takes up valuable room that could be used for books. It takes a little bit of effort to find staff members and it feels like they just don't have enough people out on the floor here to handle the size of this store. However when you do find someone the customer service is superb. I had a great conversation today with a lady working there who is a mystery lover like myself. She was able to give a very helpful description of a few books I may find interesting because they didn't have what I was looking for today. She was also kind enough to print off the listing from their website for the book I was looking for to make it easier for any staff member I approached the next time I was in store to see if more copies had arrived. I always enjoy my time in this store and whether your a visitor like myself or a Sherwood Park resident I strongly believe you would enjoy this store too.

We went to purchase a pokemon lego item that was in the box that said $3, there were multiple. There were at least 10 - 12 in the box. There was no acknowledgement just telling us it would be full price and asking if we wanted it. It was tagged at a certain price it should have been adjusted as the scanning code of practice states. When i said that i was ignored and asked if there would be anything else. When I said it should be the price it is tagged at, they rang my son through and I was told to have a good day. That is not right. It was tagged at a certain price with multiple of the same item in the box. If that is how Indigo operates I will not shop here any more.

It's great because they have so many cards to choose from - my favorite collection is the Maya Angelou collection. They are such beautiful cards and they hold a lot of wisdom in them. But Hallmark isn't just cards. They have gift books, knick knacks, home decor items, candles, picture frames, stuffed animals, coffee mugs, they have a lot of stuff. The reason I say it's a great place for last minute gifts is because of that reason: it's a one-stop-shop. You can grab a gift and a card and be on your way!
