Prettiest Present - Moon jewellery! Love it! You look up the moon phase on a special date and buy the jewellery to commemorate that date.

I'm really sad that the Prettiest Present is closing. Over the past 4 years I've shopped for a…read morequite a few special occasion or cheer up gifts here for family and loved ones. The store doesn't have an exact closing date but it won't be very long. Currently seasonal items are 60-70% off (some seriously cute Xmas décor and ornaments) and the remainder of the store is 20-30% off. They have really cute jewellery and unique items for special gifts. I really like their line of moon necklaces/bracelets where you pick the phase of the moon on a special date (birth, death, wedding, etc.) and can wear it as jewellery. I also like their sparkly Swarovski crystal bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Some stuff here for sure can be found elsewhere or online for less but that's not the point of a boutique store. It's getting to go somewhere and browse through various collections to find the perfect gift for someone special. If you're a fan of s'well bottles, they still have a fairly good collection of unique ones and at 20% off you're paying a fair price for the designer s'wells. (Note you can get plain jane ones at Costco for $30) but the ones here are GORGEOUS and make me smile. They're collection of wrapping papers and tissues is extensive and are sure to be able to wrap your gift to fit any occasion or theme. Seriously gonna miss the Prettiest Present!

Well I just adore this store!…read more Often you walk into gift shops, and yes, everything is lovely but you just don't really see anything practical; or everything is really expensive, or really niche. But at the Prettiest Present they really have a great variety of really useful gifts! From presents for those pooch peeps, to culinary and kitchen gadgets - as well as neat necessities. Then there are the baby gifts, the seasonal decor for your own abode, a wall of tempting teas and some really unique jewelry. And then the pies de resistance... they have the most fabulous collection of gift bags, gift boxes and paper so that when you find that perfect present you can also wrap it up without having to go to another store! Love it!! Although, I do not remember seeing ribbon or cards, I could be wrong, or maybe that's just asking for the moon. Pro Tip: Make sure to go into the basement! Often you go into a store like this and assume that down the steps is just a small smattering of a few other things. But in this case the basement is the majority of the shop. It is at least 3x larger then the upstairs portion. Happy shopping!

It's another store that's big on cramming everything they carry into every nook and cranny, with the risk of overwhelming customers' eyesights. Be careful you don't step on anything, especially since they have a lot of fragile stuff in this shop. And right now, as you can probably imagine, it's like Christmas is bursting through the door. This would be a good place to check out if you're looking to spruce up your place for the holidays. You'll find everything from kitchen gadgets and fancy dinnerware (crystal, ceramics, glass) to jewelry and small home decor items. They even have a small section of gadgets and things for wine connoisseurs especially. Prices range from affordable to quite pricey. Dansk also offers instructional seminars on decorating and entertaining, although I'm not sure how much these run for. This store has everything you need to make your home feel all cozy and fuzzy for the holidays, but prepared to feel a little bombarded by Christmas here.

They carry a variety of items but mostly it is cookware, dinnerware, knives, cutlery and things along those lines. I don't know if I personally would decorate my home with some of the items because some of them seem to posh but they do have lots to choose from. I view it as a kind of last minute place to go gift shopping because you will most likely find something decent.

This shop curates a wide variety of stuff that's ideal for gift giving. It's hard not to go overboard ordering just one more cute thing. I really like their needlework kits, greeting cards, and home decor items. Prices are not bargain basement so be warned that a shopping spree can add up fast! Still, shopping local has its own rewards and I am glad that this quirky little place has earned such a large following that it's still standing after all the economic challenges of the pandemic and beyond. Hard to explain, but the inventory just has an Edmonton feel to it -- check it out and see if you agree!

Seriously obsessed with this quirky store. Awesome gift ideas (for myself) in here. From bear…read moreshaped chopping boards, succulents in the cutest pots, to jewellery, mermaid bottle openers and so much more. The space is small but it has an upstairs mezzanine area with even more goodies and that's where you'll find the wall of patches. That's right, a wall of patches, my friend and I were debating buying a giant cat patch for a denim jacket. They are so cool. I want them all. The greetings cards are funny, shocking and perfect for any pal with a sense of humour. They sell light boxes, neon signs and trinket holders in weird shapes. What's not to love. Every single thing in this store is so damn cute, including the owner. She was funny, had great conversation and told us lots about the makers and various store items. Can't wait to go back and buy all the things!

The Plaid Giraffe - The rings were neat

I love this store, it's just so much fun being here! You can find great gifts here at the Plaid…read moreGiraffe. Some people might find the items generic, but I argue they are anything but. There are many items that your family and friends will most likely get a kick out of. Most of it is for the female population though (as like most stores). The Plaid Giraffe carries Nine & Co. bags from Nine West, unique scarves, jewelry (wow, do they have jewelry), and other neat gift items. As I made my way through the store recently, one guy was browsing as well and, while his girlfriend paid for her brand new bag at the counter, he was picking up one item after another and saying "How sweet is this?!?" again and again. I have to admit, it was pretty amusing. But then, so is their selection. Among their items that will make you laugh and gasp are barbed wire toilet paper (TP with a barbed wire design on it) and -- get this -- a hair-coloring kit specifically for your "hair down there". I'm dead serious! I had never seen anything like it before. I mean, who does that? Not that I'm judging or anything ... hey, it's something new! But the colors available were electric blue, pink, and orange. Whoa, now there's somethin' freaky going on there! My favorite thing about the Plaid Giraffe though, is their jewelry, which is pretty much the inner half of the shop. They have it all color-coded, so there are your blues, then purples, and black and whites, and so on. Some of it is a little pricey, but it depends on what materials it has, right? I find that most of their earrings start at $9.99 and go up from there. They've also got a wide selection of those neat purse-hanger things that have been popping up everywhere. The idea is that you basically hang part of it on the edge of a table, and it has a hook that your bag can hang from. Your bag won't be on the floor and get dirty, and has its own place. The Plaid Giraffe also carries items that make great traveler gifts, if you are shopping for a globe-trotter. They have typical items like travel pillows, but with and fun designs, so they're not as boring. Anyway, that's just a peek at what they have in store. I'm already looking forward to my next trip here!

It's a really nice bag but it's a couple of years old now and the store no longer carries one like it. They have some really nice other bags though but not like my friends so I, personally, wasn't really interested. I did like their cute wallets made from different colored leather with fun designs or patterns on them. They have a lot of accessories. Their whole back half of the store is devoted to accessories. I found some great earrings that I've been looking for at some good prices; one pair was $9.99 and the other pair (a pair of square ones; I actually don't own square shaped earrings!) for $11.99. They have a lot of really nice but not too expensive looking jewelry. Their store is really nice and net with lots of open areas so you can actually breath. The two girls that were working were really nice and super friendly. They let me look around in peace without bugging me or pressuring me to buy something; it was really nice to just to my thing.
