Jilly's Home & Lifestyle - Necklaces and earrings galore

I was greeted by Wonder Woman (it was Halloween) and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me browse the store without pressure (which I really appreciate because some stores can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase). Other than Christmas decorations, Jilly's a bit of everything! There is clothing in the back (it's very expensive though - so expensive I almost choked on my gum). They also have numerous home decor items, candles, bath and soap products, they have a lot of stuff. The sale section towards the back of the store drew me in immediately (it had purses). I really liked Jilly's. I will be going back to shop soon!

Jaillis Boutique is packed full of goodies from jewelry, to candles, to clothing, and so much more! There is even a little kids section. You can also find Kate Spade stationary accessories here. This place is seriously jam packed! I took pictures, and when I looked at them after, I saw things in the picture I didn't notice in the store! You can, and probably should, spend at least an hour here! I was in there for about 20 minutes which is seriously a long time for me. I can browse a store and be out in 5 minutes. But this place was like a candy store for me :) My favourite sections in the store were the Farmhouse Fresh skin care line (get the Whoopie Cream lotion), the gurgle pots, and the Volcano candles. Oh! And the scarves! Such a huge selection of scarves here! So many great spring patterns and colours. This boutique has something for every budget. You can pick up gifts from $20 and up. What a great place to come for hostess gifts! And in addition, the girl working at the shop was super friendly and I could tell she loved working there. For real, I think this is as good as it gets for a local boutique in SW Edmonton. 5 stars all around! *Applause*

Prettiest Present - Moon jewellery! Love it! You look up the moon phase on a special date and buy the jewellery to commemorate that date.

The store doesn't have an exact closing date but it won't be very long. Currently seasonal items are 60-70% off (some seriously cute Xmas décor and ornaments) and the remainder of the store is 20-30% off. They have really cute jewellery and unique items for special gifts. I really like their line of moon necklaces/bracelets where you pick the phase of the moon on a special date (birth, death, wedding, etc.) and can wear it as jewellery. I also like their sparkly Swarovski crystal bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Some stuff here for sure can be found elsewhere or online for less but that's not the point of a boutique store. It's getting to go somewhere and browse through various collections to find the perfect gift for someone special. If you're a fan of s'well bottles, they still have a fairly good collection of unique ones and at 20% off you're paying a fair price for the designer s'wells. (Note you can get plain jane ones at Costco for $30) but the ones here are GORGEOUS and make me smile. They're collection of wrapping papers and tissues is extensive and are sure to be able to wrap your gift to fit any occasion or theme. Seriously gonna miss the Prettiest Present!

Well I just adore this store!…read more Often you walk into gift shops, and yes, everything is lovely but you just don't really see anything practical; or everything is really expensive, or really niche. But at the Prettiest Present they really have a great variety of really useful gifts! From presents for those pooch peeps, to culinary and kitchen gadgets - as well as neat necessities. Then there are the baby gifts, the seasonal decor for your own abode, a wall of tempting teas and some really unique jewelry. And then the pies de resistance... they have the most fabulous collection of gift bags, gift boxes and paper so that when you find that perfect present you can also wrap it up without having to go to another store! Love it!! Although, I do not remember seeing ribbon or cards, I could be wrong, or maybe that's just asking for the moon. Pro Tip: Make sure to go into the basement! Often you go into a store like this and assume that down the steps is just a small smattering of a few other things. But in this case the basement is the majority of the shop. It is at least 3x larger then the upstairs portion. Happy shopping!

Such a cool place full of treasures…read more I discovered this place by accident while looking for something else. I can see myself returning whenever I need to buy a special gift for a special someone. As a matter of fact, I did already. I got my mother a glass touch lamp with owls on it. She loves it and uses it as a night light for when she needs to get up in the pee hours. You know what I mean. They've got many themed collectables besides just Bradford. There's Disney, Night Before Christmas, Elvis, Classic cars, Betty Boop and other collectables I don't know how to name but recognize all the same. The prices are sometimes high, but we are talking about collectables. I collect dragons, and not only did they have a nice selection, but I found them to be fairly priced. I've paid more at other stores. The owner is a sweetheart. She likes to chat, but she's not intrusive. She doesn't hover. Honestly, I'm going to shop there whenever I need a gift, because I want to see this place stick around. I recommend you at least check it out. See if you can't find something for yourself or someone you love.

I have likely walked by this store many times and never walked in until recently. Each section is organized for a theme, including Elvis, Betty Boop, dolls, Christmas ornaments, t-shirts, and more. We were asked if we needed help but we were just browsing and the staff left us alone after. Prices of the items can be a little pricey but they offer unique items that you likely can't find in the mall. This is a great little store to find a gift for an unique person!

Rocket Fizz - Candy, chocolate, kitschy signs, pop, and the odd seasonal item (Halloween at present)

Having been to several candy stores in several cities in the last few weeks, I feel I can leave a fair review for Rocket Fizz based on one visit. Visually the store layout is very appealing. Items are beautifully displayed on various countertops, and cleanly organized into wall strips. Bottles upon bottles of colourful carbonated beverages of every flavour adorn the lower shelves, and are also available in two large coolers next to the checkout. I'd actually be a little nervous to bring a child or a clumsy person with me! The place is spotlessly clean and very wholesome looking in a 1950s diner kind of way. As other reviewer noted, there are no loose or bulk candies, other than salt water taffy. This is probably a good thing, COVID notwithstanding. Who really wants to eat the stale raunchy candy halfway down a pile or a giant jar anyway? There are some candies which typically come bulk that are already neatly packaged and on display, but not much selection. I was a little disappointed with the selection overall. For example, all the KitKat and other chocolate products seemed to be quite heavily focused on white chocolate. There was a small KitKat section near the back of the store, but there were only 2 flavours, green tea and sake. Other notable flavours were birthday cake and apple pie. I feel like they got stuck with the flavours that are lousy sellers. There's a small jar of little one-bite KitKats at the checkout, yet they don't sell them in packs. Huh? One thing they had in abundance was Walkers toffee and liquorice products, including little liquorice gummy Scottie dogs. The Hammonds chocolate bars come in a delicious range of flavours, like coconut cream pie. Although it's beautiful and undoubtedly mind-blowing for any kid who walks in, wandering around the store gets old fast. It's organized like an Irish video store from 20 years ago - random titles everywhere, not much organized into categories, lots of product repetition. It makes it look like they have a lot of selection, when actually it's pretty limited. Fun for a visit, but you'll probably leave feeling like you really didn't find what you were looking for. Didn't have the selection of other, smaller candy stores I've visited recently. I'm a bit disappointed with Rocket Fizz, but there are good points to it. The soda pops we tried were NOT one of them!

From the moment we walked in, Ayaan greeted us with a warm smile and incredible enthusiasm. My son can be very indecisive (especially when faced with so many amazing options), but Ayaan was endlessly patient, kind, and truly knowledgeable about every product we asked about. He took the time to learn what my son liked, offered thoughtful suggestions, and never once rushed the process. It was clear he genuinely cared about making the experience special for us. Thanks to Ayaan's expert guidance, we found the perfect birthday gift--and more importantly, my son left the store beaming with excitement. On top of that, the store itself was spotless, organized, and welcoming. You can tell the team takes pride in keeping everything in top shape, which only adds to the overall experience. We walked in as customers, but we're leaving as lifelong fans. Had to follow up more than once to see if they actually had plans to ship us our item, and were eventually notified that they're not sending it, but only after hounding them. Were they going to wait until after Christmas to tell us? We could have bought the same thing on sale at the time of purchase elsewhere and now I can't even buy it in time for Christmas. We've always done our Christmas shopping here because our kids like to physically go in and make their lists, but we'll never go back. Done with these guys.
