The store doesn't have an exact closing date but it won't be very long. Currently seasonal items are 60-70% off (some seriously cute Xmas décor and ornaments) and the remainder of the store is 20-30% off. They have really cute jewellery and unique items for special gifts. I really like their line of moon necklaces/bracelets where you pick the phase of the moon on a special date (birth, death, wedding, etc.) and can wear it as jewellery. I also like their sparkly Swarovski crystal bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Some stuff here for sure can be found elsewhere or online for less but that's not the point of a boutique store. It's getting to go somewhere and browse through various collections to find the perfect gift for someone special. If you're a fan of s'well bottles, they still have a fairly good collection of unique ones and at 20% off you're paying a fair price for the designer s'wells. (Note you can get plain jane ones at Costco for $30) but the ones here are GORGEOUS and make me smile. But at the Prettiest Present they really have a great variety of really useful gifts! From presents for those pooch peeps, to culinary and kitchen gadgets - as well as neat necessities. Then there are the baby gifts, the seasonal decor for your own abode, a wall of tempting teas and some really unique jewelry. And then the pies de resistance... they have the most fabulous collection of gift bags, gift boxes and paper so that when you find that perfect present you can also wrap it up without having to go to another store! Love it!! Although, I do not remember seeing ribbon or cards, I could be wrong, or maybe that's just asking for the moon. Pro Tip: Make sure to go into the basement! Often you go into a store like this and assume that down the steps is just a small smattering of a few other things. But in this case the basement is the majority of the shop. I can see myself returning whenever I need to buy a special gift for a special someone. As a matter of fact, I did already. I got my mother a glass touch lamp with owls on it. She loves it and uses it as a night light for when she needs to get up in the pee hours. You know what I mean. They've got many themed collectables besides just Bradford. There's Disney, Night Before Christmas, Elvis, Classic cars, Betty Boop and other collectables I don't know how to name but recognize all the same. The prices are sometimes high, but we are talking about collectables. I collect dragons, and not only did they have a nice selection, but I found them to be fairly priced. I've paid more at other stores. The owner is a sweetheart. She likes to chat, but she's not intrusive. She doesn't hover. Honestly, I'm going to shop there whenever I need a gift, because I want to see this place stick around. I recommend you at least check it out. The greenhouse is small and located in the front yard of a private residence with a main building/shop and 2 greenhouses attached. There was care taken to details and all questions were answered thoughtfully. The atmosphere was cheerful and the plants were lovingly looked after. I hope this little gem stays afloat and we will definitely be returning when in the area! And my toddler quite enjoyed playing with the owner's dog, Maggie. Prices were on par and the gift shop had cute seasonal decorations that we just couldn't resist for our garden! We will definitely return!

I was greeted by Wonder Woman (it was Halloween) and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me browse the store without pressure (which I really appreciate because some stores can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase). Other than Christmas decorations, Jilly's a bit of everything! There is clothing in the back (it's very expensive though - so expensive I almost choked on my gum). They also have numerous home decor items, candles, bath and soap products, they have a lot of stuff. The sale section towards the back of the store drew me in immediately (it had purses). Magpie's is great because it's a store that features unique items. Everything here from local (Leduc, Beaumont ad Edmonton area) artisans and producers. There's a huge variety of gifts here, kitchen stuff, jewellery, art, bath products, and greeting cards. They also have a nice selection of kids toys as well. I always enjoy popping into Magpie's to see what's new because the vendors change every once in a while (maybe every few months). It's one of the stores where if you see something you like you'll want to buy it, because you can't be sure it'll be there next time. But the one thing that always stands out to me is the staff. Everything I've come in the person working is very friendly and helpful. One time I came in and talked to the lady working about needing to find a thank you card for a friend I was going to visit in Vancouver. While other similar stores haven't survived until today this one was a great visit when we wandered Whyte Avenue with some visitors from out of the country and they picked up some unique souvenirs. The store is so filled with items that there's always something new to spot when visiting. It is perhaps hard to find what you're looking for if you only want to find something very specific but if you're open to finding new things this is a great option! The floor creaks when you walk in some spots and the decor and store itself is old but this adds to the charm. It can be overwhelming to visit (but sometimes this saves me some money).

I have never had these worries at Black Gold Gallery and Frame. The owner is a lovely woman who is friendly but content to leave you to browse if you tell her you are just looking. A little known fact about this place also is if you are a Bradford exchange fan they will place an order for you if you see something you like on the website and will do it through their own account which is great if online shopping makes you uncomfortable or you don't have a credit card. Just make sure you have at least half the money to put down on your purchase and they will call you when it arrives. They were very understanding with me the last time I made a purchase and it took me three days to get to Leduc to actually pick it up. I only received one extra reminder phone call and not once was I ever accused of trying to flake out on paying them the other half of the money. These folks have been around since 1993 and with great selection and unbeatable customer service it is easy to see why. If you are in the Leduc area and looking to add to the decor of your home make sure to give this great small business a look and I promise you will not be disappointed.
