I've also shopped online when I was desperate, but between the exchange rate, extreme shipping costs, and the custom fees... you end up paying twice as much. The quality of Torrid's clothing though makes it almost worth it. So when we heard this store would be opening in December, I lost my mind! I chose to attend the grand opening of this location (The first in Edmonton) on December 10th. I was happy with the selection, though the Torrid website still holds much more than what you'll find in store. I expected the prices to be a little higher (thanks to the crappy exchange rate), but was still surprised with how high some of it was. I would put the prices on par with Addition Elle, which is a shame. But be sure to sign up for their emails and you'll get lots of deals and coupons sent to you!! The staff were absolutely fantastic while dealing with a group of excited shoppes. Honestly, they never looked stressed or overwelmed. I don't know what kind of training they go through to be able to handle that so well, but I think everyone should be made to train with them for a day before ever dealing with customers!

I don't like how they make you put your stuff in lockers when you try stuff on though. I realize that it probably prevents any kind of shoplifting but it's just inconvenient and, let's be honest, weird. Aritzia is OK. One girl in particular at this location named Hannah was an absolute angel! I pulled lots of items myself and she added some to my dressing room as well. I didn't feel that need to up-sale pressure from her, it felt like she was genuinely showing me pieces I may have missed myself or that she thought I would like. I was also grateful because she was super helpful with putting items on hold for my mom to go pick up later as my birthday gift! Sadly there was one piece I couldn't find in the store so she wrote it down and mentioned to my mom how they could special order it to the store so I could pick it up once it arrived in the store. Of course, my mom thought that was a great idea and went forward with it and stuck the receipt I needed in the gift bag along with everything else. Well later we got the email stating it had arrived and right away I drove all the way to the west end from Sherwood Park and I had forgotten the receipt I needed to pick up the shirt my mom had special ordered for me. I felt like a complete idiot but luckily the girls at the counter reassured me that if someone at home could send me a picture of it that would be totally acceptable as well. So in the end I got everything I wanted and had an excellent experience at this location. Once again I just want to say thank you to Hannah for all the help she gave me! They have a wide selection of sizes, from XSmall to 3X. I'm about a size 24/3X and some of their 3X items are almost too big on me, which always makes me smile. The staff treats me with the same respect they give small to average size women, which in my experience doesn't happen often in a plus/regular mix size store. Along with clothing, they have accessories, fun items like socks and sweets, and a wall of personal care items like bath bombs, body cream, hand sanitizer, and aromatherapy. The owner, Laura, is an amazing member of the community who supports other small businesses and brought joy to my family at a rough time when we were missing a loved one. She wasn't asked, she just offered and we will always be thankful to her for her act of kindness.

I shop at Reitman's a few times a year to pick up a blazer, work tops, or pants and find the decent quality for the price. Many of their pants are pull up ones with no zipper or buttons. I usually shop this store during their Boxing Day sales. They often have sales for 50% off last ticketed price so I can walk out with a handful of clothes for me or gifts for not much money. There are many change rooms and a sales associate who works in that area so I have rarely had to wait for a room. When it's time to pay, I have never found the line up too long and they are quick and efficient to ring up my purchases. Will shop here again the near future!

They had a display of nylon pouches that were bags all folded up available in four different colors. I thought that was awesome! I love bringing my own bags when I can but just had grocery bags that fold, but don't stay folded too well. This was the solution I was seeking. Now I can just pop my new, reusable bag in my purse and pull it out whenever I feel I need a bag for my purchases. They sell for around $3.

Was quoted ~2,500 for a blazer in our chosen fabric - YIKES. Price includes full lining, if you opt out of lining you still pay full price. Our chosen fabric would take 6-8weeks (not including final fitting) but another fabric choice would have been closer to 3-5weeks. Also the fabric people take a month off in the summer - usually August he said so he said if you do not order Before August it will be a 4 week wait for them to be able to order again. Overall we did not go with a custom blazer from here, due to the price but maybe one day! The other clothing sold here is very high end = pricey. My boyfriend was very heartbroken the sweater he liked was $700 lol.

The clerks were friendly enough and not annoyingly attentive - sometimes shopping at ladies clothing stores that aren't part of a mall can be a bit much because they don't seem to have as much traffic and they hover around you. Apparently this is the only place selling them in Edmonton. The shoe and accessory section at the back of the store is fantastic. Everything is a little extra in here even the toll is covered in bling! It's a fun store. Check it out.
