I've also shopped online when I was desperate, but between the exchange rate, extreme shipping costs, and the custom fees... you end up paying twice as much. The quality of Torrid's clothing though makes it almost worth it. So when we heard this store would be opening in December, I lost my mind! I chose to attend the grand opening of this location (The first in Edmonton) on December 10th. I was happy with the selection, though the Torrid website still holds much more than what you'll find in store. I expected the prices to be a little higher (thanks to the crappy exchange rate), but was still surprised with how high some of it was. I would put the prices on par with Addition Elle, which is a shame. But be sure to sign up for their emails and you'll get lots of deals and coupons sent to you!! The staff were absolutely fantastic while dealing with a group of excited shoppes. Honestly, they never looked stressed or overwelmed. I don't know what kind of training they go through to be able to handle that so well, but I think everyone should be made to train with them for a day before ever dealing with customers!

From the funny baby onesies and hilarious shower curtains to the lobster print swim suits at the back of the store there is so much to love! Recently I discovered two things in there I never knew about before: 1. There is a sale section at the back of the store - so far back - I thought it was the changing room so get round there and have a peek! 2. There is a hat collection! I wear a lot of hats and recently an amazing gold turban found in no other than Rowena's! The service is always pleasant and every item is unusual, fun and definitely quirky.

I was pleasantly surprised by the array of jewellery available by local artists. The store was bright, airy, modern, and fresh! I loved the tree at the entrance to the store used to display local jewellery! I found most of the clothing a little out of my price range - but many beautiful pieces none the less. I ended up purchasing a gorgeous little change purse after drooling over dozens and dozens of items. Especially when on the hunt for a unique piece of jewellery for myself or a gift, I will definitely be returning to this store when in the area!

One girl in particular at this location named Hannah was an absolute angel! I pulled lots of items myself and she added some to my dressing room as well. I didn't feel that need to up-sale pressure from her, it felt like she was genuinely showing me pieces I may have missed myself or that she thought I would like. I was also grateful because she was super helpful with putting items on hold for my mom to go pick up later as my birthday gift! Sadly there was one piece I couldn't find in the store so she wrote it down and mentioned to my mom how they could special order it to the store so I could pick it up once it arrived in the store. Of course, my mom thought that was a great idea and went forward with it and stuck the receipt I needed in the gift bag along with everything else. Well later we got the email stating it had arrived and right away I drove all the way to the west end from Sherwood Park and I had forgotten the receipt I needed to pick up the shirt my mom had special ordered for me. I felt like a complete idiot but luckily the girls at the counter reassured me that if someone at home could send me a picture of it that would be totally acceptable as well. So in the end I got everything I wanted and had an excellent experience at this location. Once again I just want to say thank you to Hannah for all the help she gave me! Anyways, in my pursuit of finding a reasonably priced dress to wear to a wedding, I decided to check it out again. And boy, was I impressed! I guess I caught the start of their 50% sale sale... because there was a TON left and it was all SUPER cheap. Lots of great brands - Dex, Supertrash, S. Oliver, Kensie, etc... And it was funny how some great quality clothing that isn't necessarily popular in North America was the cheapest! I got an S. Oliver blouse for $12... which is insane, since they retail for around $60 in Europe. And Supertrash jeans for $15 (I had actually never heard of the brand before, but looked it up when I got home and I guess they're $150 jeans? nice!) They also seem to get a lot of unsold stuff from local stores - I saw American Eagle jewellery, shoes, and bags as well as Urban Outfitters jewellery. There is definitely some digging involved in this store (think thrifting), but it can be quite worth your time.

Located just south of the Edmonton city cemetery and literally behind (north) of Oliver Square. It can be a little tricky to find the first time. I have friends that have found some fabulous treasures here in the clothing liquidations but I haven't found that hidden Easter Egg yet. The layout is kinda like a thrift store but way less organized. You need time when you come here to sort and sift through the garbage to find the gems. Also, sign up for their email online for advance notice of sales and coupons. It's a fun little liquidation warehouse but it could be improved significantly with better organization and layout.

They have a wide selection of sizes, from XSmall to 3X. I'm about a size 24/3X and some of their 3X items are almost too big on me, which always makes me smile. The staff treats me with the same respect they give small to average size women, which in my experience doesn't happen often in a plus/regular mix size store. Along with clothing, they have accessories, fun items like socks and sweets, and a wall of personal care items like bath bombs, body cream, hand sanitizer, and aromatherapy. The owner, Laura, is an amazing member of the community who supports other small businesses and brought joy to my family at a rough time when we were missing a loved one. She wasn't asked, she just offered and we will always be thankful to her for her act of kindness.

It's not in an area that I pass by often but I has an appointment nearby and as I was parking I spotted the sign. Luckily I was 20 mins early, giving me the perfect place to kill time! The store is underneath some apartments but tokes over half of the ground level by the looks of it. A fantastic big space, filled from top to bottom with vintage treasures. The owner does a great job creating cute corners highlighting furniture, decor, ornaments and clothing. I immediately wished I had more time to browse! The clothing is divided into rails of amazing dresses from the Victorian era and more. The underskirt section was unreal and made me wanna dress like a steam punk to my meeting. So cool. Lots of eclectic and romantic bits for a vintage wedding. Just wonderful.
