I thought Red Ribbon was going to be another one of those stores that frustrates me, because either the clothes are too expensive or too small for me to fit in. When I first walked in, I thought it looked like such a nice store. It was kind of dim, with spotlights. The hardwood floors were dark, and the clothes looked eclectic. I started looking through one rack of shirts, and I was kind of shocked to see plain cotton shirts selling for $70. I kept looking through different racks, and what I started to notice was that the prices really varied. There were a lot of very expensive clothes, but there was also some very affordable clothes. I didn't see that many bigger sizes, but I eventually came across two really cool shirt dresses in my size. I tried them on, and the black on fit perfectly. And the best part was that it was marked down from $69 to $35! I couldn't believe what a good deal that was for such a nice shirt. I noticed on the receipt that this store only offers store credit or exchanges, but I am quite sure I won't be returning this shirt. They also had some awesome purses and bags, but these were well over a hundred dollars. I love this store, and I would give it five stars, if they carried more larger sizes. I will definitely be stopping by here quite often from now on.

It is more of a clothing and accessories store than a gift shop - but hey, clothes and accessories can be bought as gifts, right? Most of the fashions are for women, and include dresses, shirts, blouses, and all the trimmings to go with them. I noticed the prices were a bit on the high side, but the quality and selection seemed decent. I also noticed fashion jewelry, handbags, and some small gift items. There is usually a sale - when I was there I was tempted by a multi-coloured tote, but decided it wasn't in my budget nonetheless (yay self-control!). There is a small selection of tems for men, and the sizes appear to cover the spectrum.

It's not in an area that I pass by often but I has an appointment nearby and as I was parking I spotted the sign. Luckily I was 20 mins early, giving me the perfect place to kill time! The store is underneath some apartments but tokes over half of the ground level by the looks of it. A fantastic big space, filled from top to bottom with vintage treasures. The owner does a great job creating cute corners highlighting furniture, decor, ornaments and clothing. I immediately wished I had more time to browse! The clothing is divided into rails of amazing dresses from the Victorian era and more. The underskirt section was unreal and made me wanna dress like a steam punk to my meeting. So cool. Anyways, in my pursuit of finding a reasonably priced dress to wear to a wedding, I decided to check it out again. And boy, was I impressed! I guess I caught the start of their 50% sale sale... because there was a TON left and it was all SUPER cheap. Lots of great brands - Dex, Supertrash, S. Oliver, Kensie, etc... And it was funny how some great quality clothing that isn't necessarily popular in North America was the cheapest! I got an S. Oliver blouse for $12... which is insane, since they retail for around $60 in Europe. And Supertrash jeans for $15 (I had actually never heard of the brand before, but looked it up when I got home and I guess they're $150 jeans? nice!) They also seem to get a lot of unsold stuff from local stores - I saw American Eagle jewellery, shoes, and bags as well as Urban Outfitters jewellery. There is definitely some digging involved in this store (think thrifting), but it can be quite worth your time.

Located just south of the Edmonton city cemetery and literally behind (north) of Oliver Square. It can be a little tricky to find the first time. I have friends that have found some fabulous treasures here in the clothing liquidations but I haven't found that hidden Easter Egg yet. The layout is kinda like a thrift store but way less organized. You need time when you come here to sort and sift through the garbage to find the gems. Also, sign up for their email online for advance notice of sales and coupons. It's a fun little liquidation warehouse but it could be improved significantly with better organization and layout.

This is one of my favourite Reitman's in the city. It's a big store with sections for petites,…read moreplus, and shoes. They also sell accessories like socks, and jewelry. I shop at Reitman's a few times a year to pick up a blazer, work tops, or pants and find the decent quality for the price. Many of their pants are pull up ones with no zipper or buttons. I usually shop this store during their Boxing Day sales. They often have sales for 50% off last ticketed price so I can walk out with a handful of clothes for me or gifts for not much money. There are many change rooms and a sales associate who works in that area so I have rarely had to wait for a room. When it's time to pay, I have never found the line up too long and they are quick and efficient to ring up my purchases. Will shop here again the near future!

This location is huge! It's got a full section for each of average, petite and above average sizes. They've got decent prices and sales. They have a decent range of casual to business casual clothing. I ended up buying a shirt I found on the clearance rack. What impressed me most was at the checkout. They had a display of nylon pouches that were bags all folded up available in four different colors. I thought that was awesome! I love bringing my own bags when I can but just had grocery bags that fold, but don't stay folded too well. This was the solution I was seeking. Now I can just pop my new, reusable bag in my purse and pull it out whenever I feel I need a bag for my purchases. They sell for around $3.

I've also shopped online when I was desperate, but between the exchange rate, extreme shipping costs, and the custom fees... you end up paying twice as much. The quality of Torrid's clothing though makes it almost worth it. So when we heard this store would be opening in December, I lost my mind! I chose to attend the grand opening of this location (The first in Edmonton) on December 10th. I was happy with the selection, though the Torrid website still holds much more than what you'll find in store. I expected the prices to be a little higher (thanks to the crappy exchange rate), but was still surprised with how high some of it was. I would put the prices on par with Addition Elle, which is a shame. But be sure to sign up for their emails and you'll get lots of deals and coupons sent to you!! The staff were absolutely fantastic while dealing with a group of excited shoppes. Honestly, they never looked stressed or overwelmed. I don't know what kind of training they go through to be able to handle that so well, but I think everyone should be made to train with them for a day before ever dealing with customers!

I'm pleasantly surprised. Not everything is skulls and crossbones. ( Although I still love skulls) I found a lot of stuff I liked. I picked up a blue shirt and, get this, a Betsy Johnson shirt! I've loved her since the 80's and I never believed I would find something of hers that would come in my size. Yoink! Yes, it has skulls. And pink, But I love it anyway. The clothes are roomy and comfortable, and I fit a size smaller than I'm accustomed to. The prices are a little high for my liking, but with the Betsy Johnson I expected that. I joined their program because the inner goth is hoping for another Betsy Johnson, and I need to check out what else they have when I can think rationally. The coupons were a nice plus.

So every time I go to WEM I stop in and see what's new on the racks. Turns out my friends and my mom and sisters also love this place. If you are even the slightest bit curvy you will find clothes that fit and are tasteful and you'll feel beautiful. The staff are great too! I fell in love with a long sleeve top with flamingoes on it and bought it! I love that I can usually find my size (that isn't sold out) and just beautifully made clothes for a decent price. I am always impressed at how busy this place is too. I will continue to come back and see what this place has to offer as the seasons change.
