Clothes err on the pricier side but not much more than you would see in any mall - I appreciate that they have lots of really unique, well made, individual pieces. Accessories are a must at Red Ribbon, they have a fantastic collection of scarves (averaging about $22, which for how gorgeous and unique they are, is IMO quite reasonable) and lots of handbags. Red Ribbon also carries a huge assortment of Toms shoes (for both men, women and even kids/infants!!!) Definitely stop into Red Ribbon on a regular basis as they are a small boutique and get new stock in all the time. My friend told me that this store is expensive, but awesome. I finally decided to check it out,…read morebecause I have been dying to find some unique clothes. I thought Red Ribbon was going to be another one of those stores that frustrates me, because either the clothes are too expensive or too small for me to fit in. When I first walked in, I thought it looked like such a nice store. It was kind of dim, with spotlights. The hardwood floors were dark, and the clothes looked eclectic. I started looking through one rack of shirts, and I was kind of shocked to see plain cotton shirts selling for $70. I kept looking through different racks, and what I started to notice was that the prices really varied. There were a lot of very expensive clothes, but there was also some very affordable clothes. I didn't see that many bigger sizes, but I eventually came across two really cool shirt dresses in my size. I tried them on, and the black on fit perfectly. And the best part was that it was marked down from $69 to $35! I couldn't believe what a good deal that was for such a nice shirt. I noticed on the receipt that this store only offers store credit or exchanges, but I am quite sure I won't be returning this shirt. They also had some awesome purses and bags, but these were well over a hundred dollars. I love this store, and I would give it five stars, if they carried more larger sizes. I will definitely be stopping by here quite often from now on.

Anyways, in my pursuit of finding a reasonably priced dress to wear to a wedding, I decided to check it out again. And boy, was I impressed! I guess I caught the start of their 50% sale sale... because there was a TON left and it was all SUPER cheap. Lots of great brands - Dex, Supertrash, S. Oliver, Kensie, etc... And it was funny how some great quality clothing that isn't necessarily popular in North America was the cheapest! I got an S. Oliver blouse for $12... which is insane, since they retail for around $60 in Europe. And Supertrash jeans for $15 (I had actually never heard of the brand before, but looked it up when I got home and I guess they're $150 jeans? nice!) They also seem to get a lot of unsold stuff from local stores - I saw American Eagle jewellery, shoes, and bags as well as Urban Outfitters jewellery. There is definitely some digging involved in this store (think thrifting), but it can be quite worth your time.

Located just south of the Edmonton city cemetery and literally behind (north) of Oliver Square. It can be a little tricky to find the first time. I have friends that have found some fabulous treasures here in the clothing liquidations but I haven't found that hidden Easter Egg yet. The layout is kinda like a thrift store but way less organized. You need time when you come here to sort and sift through the garbage to find the gems. Also, sign up for their email online for advance notice of sales and coupons. It's a fun little liquidation warehouse but it could be improved significantly with better organization and layout.

Well, looking at the clothes was enough fun for me. They have really cute stuff here from brands like Bench, Gentle Fawn, and Kidrobot. I really liked the women's jackets they had here; they were casual and sporty, but still cute and feminine (not too girly). I also fell in love with a cute handbag, but not with its price, unfortunately. There are clothes and accessories for both guys and gals here, and everything is a sporty/casual and modern chic style. Nothing is preppy or frilly. They also have an entire front section of shoes, with brands like Nike and Lacoste; most of them are sneakers, or flats for women. I don't know how I was able to miss their audio section ... guess that means I'll be going back! I just hope I don't cave in and buy another jacket ... they're cool but out of my price range here.

This is a great place if you're into DJing, because Foosh sells DJ audio equipment and also a wide assortment of vinyl in the newest techno and electro beats. I also saw some imported Japanese items, like cute-character zipper pulls. I also spotted stuffed Domokun characters here in three different sizes! In other Ricki's I have received great service, but this one not so much. If I'm in the area, I may pop in but I would not make a special trip to come to this store.

I've also shopped online when I was desperate, but between the exchange rate, extreme shipping costs, and the custom fees... you end up paying twice as much. The quality of Torrid's clothing though makes it almost worth it. So when we heard this store would be opening in December, I lost my mind! I chose to attend the grand opening of this location (The first in Edmonton) on December 10th. I was happy with the selection, though the Torrid website still holds much more than what you'll find in store. I expected the prices to be a little higher (thanks to the crappy exchange rate), but was still surprised with how high some of it was. I would put the prices on par with Addition Elle, which is a shame. But be sure to sign up for their emails and you'll get lots of deals and coupons sent to you!! The staff were absolutely fantastic while dealing with a group of excited shoppes. Honestly, they never looked stressed or overwelmed. I don't know what kind of training they go through to be able to handle that so well, but I think everyone should be made to train with them for a day before ever dealing with customers!

They have a wide selection of sizes, from XSmall to 3X. I'm about a size 24/3X and some of their 3X items are almost too big on me, which always makes me smile. The staff treats me with the same respect they give small to average size women, which in my experience doesn't happen often in a plus/regular mix size store. Along with clothing, they have accessories, fun items like socks and sweets, and a wall of personal care items like bath bombs, body cream, hand sanitizer, and aromatherapy. The owner, Laura, is an amazing member of the community who supports other small businesses and brought joy to my family at a rough time when we were missing a loved one. My friend and I text back and forth photos of the things we think the other person would like, and it's very easy to order and choose either delivery or pickup. I've snagged some cherished pieces this way. The inventory is well curated with brands that are typically ultra-expensive in the wild. I like seeing things show up that would only otherwise be available in a niche setting like a dress shop attached to a resort, or some of the better-known beauties like Smoking Lily. Way back in the old days there was a second-hand shop called Zoryana just off Whyte and I still have clothes from there that I treasure -- the eye in the curation here reminds me of that Zoryana flair, with upper crust overtones. I don't expect rock-bottom prices for one of a kind quality items, though if you wait, a thing that does not sell will be given a sale price more in keeping with what reviewers here seem to be expecting from consignment. Usually the really cool stuff sells before that can happen, though. A NWT blush coloured embossed leather jacket at thirty bucks is one of the faves I picked up there -- tag said $129 -- seemed pretty great to me! One of the biggest draws of Red Pony is the people who own and operate the shop. Yannick, Janel, and Cherry light up Instagram showing off items from local clothing and jewelry designers and makers, and putting together outfits from items in the shop. These are women who are happy and successful in an Edmonton small business venture, and that in itself is inspiring. Going to one of their pop-ups guarantees you will have fun while finding something to occupy the front hanger slot of your closet circuit. For me, consignment shops are a lot about atmosphere. Some gather too much inventory, and become somewhat oppressive and dark with it. Red Pony always seems just right, with enough but not too much, and a real art at displaying things so you can't just walk past them without looking more closely. I've never had an encounter with Red Pony that didn't make me happier, even if just looking at their online shop. Definitely worth trying to see if it has the same effect on you!
