The staff were super friendly and helpful. And there is parking in front which is always a plus. I found one of those yellow/brown glass pots! These are so amazing and they're so hard to find. It was in really good shape and a great deal, only $10. I also found a gorgeous crystal snack tray with 4 sections, it was like $4! Such a great deal! I will definitely keep this place in my back pocket for a rainy day.

Unlike other locations that sell a good mix of Simons brands like Twik and other popular brands, the women's clothing section in this location is at least 90% house brands. I tend to steer away from these as the quality tends to be lower and not as good value for the price. The men's section seems to have a better mix. If this is an issue for you, the West Ed location is much better. On a positive note, the service is always great. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The store is always quiet and clean.

Most other thrift stores or city run initiatives are not excepting donations due to COVID. I was able to pull right up to the doors which was very convenient as I had a lot of heavy boxes to donate. The lady who can and helped me was great! She pulled a large rolling bin right up to my tailgate and she even helped me unload the boxes. So grateful as I have a bad back and my strong husband was the one who loaded them into my SUV. It was so fast and easy, and unlike most places they were grateful for the donation of books. A lot of places don't even accept books. Felt great to support the community, and clean out my overly full book cases.

I rent a 10 x 10 indoor heated unit and everytime that we access the area, the whole of the building is spotless! Wes and Danelle really keep the grounds and structure sanitary. Security at this location seems very good with cameras, locking gates and live-in care taker. I am very impressed with Sentinel Self Storage's Business and Customer Service in general. I was going to rent a self storage at the downtown Edmonton location and had used the on-line booking form to which I had put $50 down. I then changed my mind and went to the 136 Avenue Location. The Facility operator at the downtown location phoned me twice subsequently to ensure that I receive my $50 deposit back! I was astounded at their tenacity in making sure that I get my refund! Now that is what I call customer service! As well, there is no gouging with this company. Your contract to end the rental requests a 24 hour notice of vacancy, not the typical one month, etc., Otherwise you will be charged another month's rent. Sentinel's rental contract is easy to read and very to the point which I like and also gives you an understanding of the companies' respect to it's customer: no fine print or hidden or ambush maneuvers which crop up afterwards. Another bonus, they have a loaner vehicle that you can reserve to move your stuff, just book with some notice. There is no added cost for this service. Sentinel Self Storage is a wonderful and hassle-free company where you can rent a storage unit of all sizes and be assured that is is clean and pest free. The company has a very good web site that gives current information on monthly specials and availability for units at various locations.

This location seems to have the best selection though. I have noticed that many of their styles and designs play off of higher end brands such as GUESS or Marciano. Last time I was in the store I saw a halter corset dress that was practically identical to one I saw on the Marciano website so you can kind of guess where they are getting their design ideas from. That said, their prices was half (if even that) of high-end designers. For example, the Marciano dress was about $200 and this similar UB dress was $40. This gives an idea of their price range. Their tops range from $15 to $25, jeans for $40, jackets and coats for under $80 and everything else in between. They also sell accessories such as scarfs, belts and bags. When their merchandise goes on sale, their stuff is dirt cheap. I purchased a black velvet vest for $5, sweater for $5, even a pair of jeans for $5. They also take SPC (Student Price Card) that gives 10% off all their regular price merchandise which is an added bonus.

In all my years as a disabled person, this is the first time in any Costco I was asked if I would…read morelike to use a cart. At first I was worried that I would have to grip the bar tightly to drive (like a quad) but this mobility cart is created for those with stiff to similar to arthritic hands or in general low hand mobility/dexterity. I really appreciate the guy taking time to ask me & then to give a quick tutorial. Great for left & right hand users too. Wasn't sure if the cart would hold the charge as it was questionable on the display (and they were all hushed together plugged in) but I made it to all my necessary items plus grabbed a few more as the charge seemed to be holding strong (I never did the crazy covid TP stock up, but for small wins of the day, it was kind of exciting to be able to reach that far back into the store & by myself vs asking friends to walk the distance on behalf of me). The mobility cart is a bit touchy & definitely don't want to take it down the shorter cut through aisles (as the turning radius isn't there with such a big basket). For the most part it gave me the freedom to do more of my own personal shopping (granted the getting up & down was quickly maxing out my knees) as I wasn't allocating shopping time & walking distance to what pain I'm in & what pain I will be in if I go any further on the hard cement floor. That's a huge deal in my mind to leave Costco only slightly worse than I entered. As I was shopping with my other 2 friends (as I usually go with at least one person to be my legs for the further distances &/or arms to help carry or push a cart), this was the first time in ages I could offer to be the one "driving the cart". We all got what we needed & were happily surprised to see self-checkouts installed at this location. Made it much faster than the traditional stand in line for 20 min. Not only are the self checkouts well spaced for those really big Costco carts & have a side area large enough for all the items you might buy but they had 3 staff on hand to help with self-checkout. One in particular that was very good at approaching someone disabled & very kind & observant with what would be harder to scan myself (basically everything larger in my cart). I think besides the fruit, I had 2 small boxes I scanned myself. Super fast. I don't know if all those tills are marked for disabled users or if I got lucky to find the right self-checkout till (it has the blue icon on the screen) but this staff member was really good at letting me know they could get someone else to assist me with loading in my vehicle (a first ever offered to me by Costco) & where to return the mobility cart. As I had my friends going with me into the parking lot, I wasn't too worried about loading. I could always call them over to help if needed. I sat back down to back the cart up & I had another Costco attendant almost behind me already offering to drive it back into the store for me. That way I didn't have to walk all the way back out. I don't know what kind of new hiring method Costco is doing but keep it up. Seriously. Those 3 employees deserve some gold stars! On a side note, I've shopped at this Costco for more years. There's still some work with other staff, aisle spacing & general customer awareness that would assist with the success of mobility carts being used regularly but this is definitely the right step towards becoming better for those that need more accessible options. Again, this is the first time I've ever noticed more than one mobility cart & long overdue to have staff that can recognize those that need assistance. Heck even give recognition that a box won't work for someone with a cane... I really hope this isn't a one off experience as honestly this could change how often I shop. Way to step it up Costco.

I like fresh bread daily,I'm picky that way. So I go to…read moreSafeway practically every day. This Safeway has the worst white sliced bread you'll find anywhere in the city. Once out of every 40 times I get a loaf of bread worth eating. I have complained to management. Nothing has been done to rectify the problem. It is over cooked, dry and zero moisture. I'm not sure why they can't get a simple loaf a white sliced bread right. But they can't. It seems like a simple fix to me. ( don't cook it so long) but it is fine for a day. Then back to crap. I only continue to go here because it's the closest Safeway to where I live.
