I am a huge fan of Japanese stationary and pens, and there is a very large selection here. There are also housewares, toys, origami paper, and much more. The staff person proudly showed me around and explained the background of a number of products. I will definitely be back!

This Japanese department store is one of a kind in Edmonton, and the staff person I spoke with,…read moresaid possibly in Canada. They recently opened and are located in a strip mall in the West End just off of Stony Plain Road. On a Saturday afternoon, it was quiet in the store and I was able to learn more about the product from the staff person working. All the products are made in Japan and are typically used in daily life of Japanese people. It would also be great for those who visited or lived there and might be looking for the products. There are different sections within the store. On the left near the front are the housewares including great cups that look like cupcakes. Near the entrance there's a table full of colourful cloths which could be used as tablecloths, framed as art, or hung as a banner. Towards the back, there are coasters, printed toilet paper, small gym bags for a water bottle and towel, and there's an assortment of pens and highlighters. They have eraser on them! What a great idea and I picked one up to use when I write cards and make a mistake. Along the back wall are purses and bags, sandal socks (love the sushi ones), sandals, and kimonos. By the right wall are items for decorating the home including paper art that seems delicate but when water is added, they can be stuck on windows and reused! The store also carries earrings, masking tape, stationary including notebooks, medicine bags that I'll use to carry my jewelry when I travel, make up bags, coin purses, stamps, and stickers. I really enjoyed learning about the products from the staff, and picked up a gift and cool items for me too!

I came here to buy a pair of mukluks because I walk a lot, all through winter. My sister said the…read moremukluks are great and told me she got them at Shoe Warehouse. Tuesday evening. Around 7. Walk into the store. It wasn't overly busy, but there were a few people in the store. I looked around, and found what I wanted to try on. There was no sales associates whatsoever in the vicinity of that I could see. Only the one person at the till that was helping people. I waited around for 15 minutes. Tried on what I wanted. Looked around for an associate, still nothing. Until I heard "oh I'll be a few more minutes". There was one person working on the floor. He had been there longer than I had. Frustrated, I left. This isn't the first time I have had horrible service here. It's been consistently bad for years.

I'm not much of a fan of the Shoe Warehouse…read more From the way it 's presented you would think that they would have low prices on shoes. Turns out the shoes aren't that great, nor are they at low prices. None of the shoes here are currently in fashion, the store's selection always feels like it's about 2 or 3 years late. You won't find shoes here that you would see in somewhere like Aldo, Browns, or Town Shoes. The sales are really only about $10 off, maybe $20 if you're lucky. I only speak for the men's section though, the women's section could be a whole different ball game. The women's section is at least three times as big as the men's, so I'm sure they'll have more fun shopping here.

Great for fans of Disney, Scooby Doo, and super heroes! You can also get a foil balloon with helium for $1.25! Wow, that sounds like a great deal to me and you can call to order in advance. The selection is primarily for kids, and unfortunately no Dora but Minnie would do. The items I got were $1.25 and a chocolate bar for 79 cents. There was no line up and the cashier was friendly! Also, it was clean and pretty organized. Definitely a dollar store to shop at again!

I find that compared to certain other dollar stores, this one has actually fairly nice stuff. I bought some plastic dinosaurs there to be used as wedding decorations, and they're actually fairly realistic and stand nicely. Their craft section is a bit small (which is expected given that they're not a dedicated craft store) but they have a fair bit of stuff, and it's easily comparable to what you'd find at places like Michael's. I was impressed by that :) They also have some rather nice stationery & cards. Also, they do bulk orders as well, which is pretty cool (I didn't end up needing to do this cos it turns out they actually had 20+ bags of craft moss on hand, but I did call to ask in advance & they do it for people). So yep, Dollar Tree is definitely my favourite dollar store :)

You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. Thanks everyone at MCC for making me feel better about giving away my Mom's beautiful, but space consuming things.
