Last year I bought a dress, size small at STATIC MODA in Northgate Centre . I find it tight this…read moreyear; a real shame because I really like the dress. I was back in the mall yesterday when I saw Static Moda's window sign announcing a sale. Lucky day, they had a few of that same dress on the rack. I asked the lady (manager) if she could check for a size medium for me. as I could not reach the rack. She told me she found a medium and she brought it to the counter as I was still looking around. Finding nothing else for me, I went to pay. The lady had the dress neatly folded and she put it in a bag. This morning I removed it from the bag but it looked so big. I tried it on and it fell off my shoulders. I checked the size and it is an XL, extra large! I returned to the store with receipt to get the right size, medium. I though it was just a mistake on the lady's part. A man was behind the counter today, covering while the lady was out at the moment. I told him the problem, asked him to check the rack and get me a medium for exchange. He said there are none. oh. Huh? What the ...? I know they will NEVer give a refund but I told him I want a refund as I felt that I'd been tricked. He said to wait until the lady returned; said he couldn't do it, even though he claimed to be the store owner. Upon her return to the store I told her then too. She said she gave me a medium yesterday. I was almost stunned and told her to look at the size herself. It's an XL.Then the man asked where the tag was, then showed us white deodorant marks on an armpit. He said I had removed the tag and worn the dress and called me dishonest! Then, she started in on me. At that point I called her a liar. The lies about putting a USED dress on the rack for sale, and telling me she'd found a medium for me when in fact she had NOT. I opened my coat so show my 109 lb. 5'2" body and asked them if they think I could even wear an XL without it falling off me yesterdayould wear that dress, size XL without it falling off. Things went from bad to the worst retail experience I've ever had! He pushed the dress back at me and told me to leave the store or he'd get Security. Yes, do that I said. I want a witness to this B S. Then he said he would not ask Security to come. Well, that says something too, doesn't it? This store operates horribly. The manager and the owner should not be allowed to sell retail, as they have no principles, no ethics and no honest business practices. They should be ashamed, but with their modus operandus I expect they never know shame. Static Moda should be banned from this mall and all others too.

There were mostly seniors enjoying coffee or lunch with their friends. The health clinics seemed to be pretty busy too. There's a Spa Lady but I haven't been inside. I have been to the Alberta Works office which is convenient on the second floor. There's Walmart and Safeway, and Marshalls which wasn't there last time I was here. Too bad I didn't have a chance to check it out. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here but if I'm here for work purposes, I know I can get a drink or some selection of food too. The washrooms could be updated and cleaned better but still ok.

I'm almost sure that they do, but luckily there is no Dollarama in sight at Northgate Centre! Today I was at EFADS, and I did a double take when I saw Scharffen Berger chocolate here. I'm a chocolate fanatic, but even I refused to try this brand, because it's so incredibly expensive. But luckily, I was finally able to try this chocolate, because EFADS had the 5g pieces of the 70% dark chocolate on for ten for a dollar!!! So I bought ten, and I ate almost all of them, because they were so good. Then I wondered why I only bought ten. This was an incredible deal, and I will have to go back tomorrow to get more! But EFADS is great for other stuff too. I get Panasonic AA batteries here that work great. I also love the round brush I got here that I use to straighten my hair with a blow dryer. Also, the greeting cards here pretty good. So next time you're at Dollarama, remember to feel guilty and give Everything for a Dollar Store some love too.

I'm not making a review about kingsway mall in general. i'm making a review about a store called…read moredesigner depot because during my christmas shopping i noticed a few red flags as well as green flags. 1. i overheard certain staff members talking very rudely about other staff members. 2. i was not aware of multiple policies due to no one explaining it to me so when i went back to exchange an item i was not able to do so considering non of the employees were telling customers about them. 3. the cashier with dark hair and glasses was EXTREMELY sweet and very professional considering how young she looked. 4. i was greeted by a very sweet young man who was making sure the store was safe from homeless people due to an incident. Yes there were a few red flags but majority of my visit to this location was okay. one other thing it is very difficult to identify who is an employee due to the employees not having name tags. Note: i couldn't find the actual store to review

The staff is on top of cleaning up things and keeping the floors clean from all the mud that comes on the shoes from off the street. My only complaint is that I feel there could be a better selection of stores and options. Some of the stores though offer good pricing and good discounts. I will continue to shop here and hope that they get a better selection in the future.

There is nothing here for ladies so I got to play the sit in the chair and wait role that is usually reserved for the man. A couple of times my boyfriend sent me to fetch a different size or a different color of something which I was able to accomplish quickly as the store is laid out fairly well. The staff were also quick to step in and assist if I looked like I was struggling. We have been pretty fortunate that most of our visits have been because my hunny got a gift card for Christmas or his Birthday as most of the stuff in here has a premium price attached$$$ In some instances there has been things we looked at that I have seen cheaper in stores downtown which always felt odd to me as I am used to paying more when dealing with downtown specialty shops. There is also alteration services offered here that are available for men, women, and children but the seamstress doesn't work a full time schedule which was a pain when my boyfriend needed his work pants done. I think if you want to offer that service you need to be prepared to offer it full time as some people need their clothes done right away for important events or work commitments. After moving out of the hotel industry and into a warehouse position my boyfriend has little need of dress clothes so I don't know how many more trips either one of us will be making in here. The amount of dress clothes versus the amount of casual everyday wear is no contest in my opinion. If you don't mind paying a little extra and need dress clothes in larger sizes this is a decent store but I do think there are better options in the city.

The were around but unfriendly and you felt like a bother to them. Cold and robotic could be the best description of them. No customer experience, no smiles, no chit-chat, and no feeling of warmth. I would not be shopping there again, I'll keep driving clear across the city to other locations instead. Which brings me to my next and last visit, I had just gone to companion store George Richards in South Gate Mall. I bought some items and they only had the one of the size in stock. Also they were running a double Vip discount promotion, I do believe seeing signage promoting this as well. So I figured I would go check out this location and getting another few items since they were still on sale and get another one of the same product. What I experienced was the same exact service as before, dealing with what appeared to be the manager (same fellow as previous visit ) , didn't see any signage with the sale here. But the website still was promoting it. I brought up that the 20% off was nice discount, no reaction just kept on ringing in. He said yes nice deal, then be another one starting again next week, sounding almost annoyed by this. So anyways I check the receipt and the discount appeared light as compared to the other exact items I just bought. OK I might be mistaken the sale maybe over, it must only be a 10% discount now. I'll check the website again in the car, but of course the website was down, and was for the rest of the night. Sure enough it's not over. I happened on previous review while searching for the website while it's down, and it makes sense now. The service, the lack of signage of the sale. I will of course never ever set foot in this location ever again. Twice was more than enough and I will ensure that I inform others to stay away.

They had some good deals on items like Roxy backpacks for $29.99 (I uploaded pics) and a shoe section that beats Winners handsdown (more like shoe warehouse). I uploaded lots of pics of shoes, too - of course! The toy section and home section were pretty small but that's okay 0- that's what Winners and HomeSense are for. They offer designer handbags ranging from $200 for a clutch right up to $900 (and of course, you got it - more pics!). Overall, the store felt 50% stocked - LOTS of space between aisles and it would appear they need to double their inventory. Expect the prices and quality to be inline with Winners and definitely worth a trip to wander around but nothing to write home about. Wish I could give them 3 stars - better than average but not quite in the 4 category to me.

In terms of big box they have assembled some really great merchants here including London Drugs,T&T Supermarket, and one of the best Indigo stores in the entire city. You also have two different Starbucks to get your java fix and Little Caesars and Quizno's if you need a quick bite. The parking lot can be an absolute nightmare with people driving too fast and not observing signs and even worse yet it can border on downright terrifying to walk through the main lane of the parking lot to get to the stores. Also being so close to the transit center you might encounter the odd pan handler while on the property. The majority are harmless and usually take off after being told no although I did encounter one extremely intoxicated and belligerent gentleman in front of the Starbucks once. The security is outsourced to Baretta and I think they do a reasonable job of keeping the property safe and seeing the rules enforced. While it is not widely advertised they do have some medical and dental services offered on their top level as well as a Kumon after school program center. Upon walking around up there I noticed the excellent job the North Town janitorial staff does keeping the bathrooms and hallways clean. There is nothing here for ladies clothing but there is a big and tall store for men that my boyfriend has enjoyed great service from for years. I think partially for this reason though I don't make that many trips to North Town specifically to check out the stores. Anytime I need a coffee or are on the hunt for a new book I do enjoy wandering over there from the transit center and occasionally drift over to the other stores as well. Not exactly a power house shopping location but still a great way to kill some time...
