When you find a good watch repair shop it's wise to remember it. Time Checker is such a place. I've stopped wearing a watch ever since I owned a smart phone but my mom has been asking me to take her here for some time now. Time Checker is located in the Millwoods Town Centre mall just north of 23rd Ave. If you park in the back, or the north side, of the mall you'll be very close to their location without having to walk through much of the mall. It's basically facing the food court although during the pandemic most - but not all - of the seating is closest off. We gave them 3 watches for new batteries and the lady at the counter said to come back in 20 minutes. We returned in 19 minutes (I'm one of those people who are always early) and the watches were done. I don't recall the total charge but it was around $29.00 for three watches and that seems very reasonable to me. If you live on the south side or even in Sherwood Park, I would definitely recommend Time Checker. One thing to be aware of is that that Time Checker doesn't open until noon. I don't know if those are pandemic hours or regular hours.

The owner gets all huffy saying the whole watch will need to be rebuilt (no, it a solid state quartz watch). I leave the watch with them . . . it was running perfectly when I left it. I collect it one week later. The watch does not work, yet the battery tests fine. The owner tells me it needs a new coil because I must have touched the coil = a complete bullshit story. The watch ran flawlessly at home for 6 days before I bring it to these shysters. He wants $40 to replace the coil. He charges me $10 for the 1 cent screw and returns to me a broken watch. You tell me . . . intentional sabotage or gross incompetence? Either way, the worst service I have ever received. And I have bought from this place for years now. Never again will I step foot in this dung heap.

I went in a couple of weeks ago to pay the balance on my Bay Card. I entered as soon as it opened. Made my way to a cashier. She told me to use the returns counter. O.K. I stepped right up and paid quickly. When I looked behind me, there were over a dozen customers lined up for returns. Not how I would like to spend my Saturdays. The stock is lacking. They have stopped carrying petite sizes. I used to really like shopping here. Even the sales staff encourage you to shop online. Hence the long return lines I think.

I'd rather have someone knowledgeable do it than risk losing my expensive watch because I chose the cheapest place to get it repaired. It took a few weeks which is ok because there is usually only 1 watchmaker working in all of these types of places . He fixed it for a great price and it's worked ever since. Good deal. They have only a moderate selection of clocks and watches for sale as it's not a big store.

When I tried to go there and pick up my watch, because it was taking too long, they assured me it would be ready in just a couple more weeks and would call me. I was able to get a number for the owner from the malls help desk but they never answered when I called. I left several messages and never got a call back. I know it has been awhile but if they are still open in another location and someone knows where it is I would love to go talk to the owner. I am quite upset that I have not been able to track down my watch as it was a grad gift from my grandmother.

I would have never thought to go inside, but a co-worker had mentioned that he received great customer service at this store, so I decided to pop in one day after work. Initially I was a little intimidated by having to ring a doorbell to buzz open the door, but the store itself is intimate and welcoming. I have been looking for jewelry to wear at my wedding for over a month, and have been continually disappointed by the selection at chain stores in malls. The diamond jewelry here is classic and beautiful, and I found what I had invisioned immediately. It looks like a two-person team runs the store (a man and a woman) and both times I visited they were very patient and friendly, and I felt none of the attitude I have experienced from staff at other stores. When I purchased a necklace, it was cleaned for me before being put in a box, and when I mentioned off hand that my engagement ring was dirty, the saleswoman took it back for cleaning and offered the free cleaning service to me at any time I wanted. I am very pleased with the necklace I bought, and enjoyed the low pressure, friendly service at Forest of Jewels.
