They frequently don't have my size (9.5/10) but are always willing to check the computer and phone around to put a pair on hold for me if need be. They were the last pair but a bit scuffed from being tried on so many times I guess, so I bargained for a further discount, and they gave me 15% off, which was even better. Their prices here are usually better than decent, but look for the shoes on sale, and you'll find yourself a bargain. They've got a nice selection of women's boots too. They offer a stamp card discount for customers who stay loyal and buy shoes a lot. Warning: you may become a real shoe addict. This is a store that sells stylish shoes for people who have developed a variety of back, leg and foot problems, i.e. us old geezers. My wife and I fall into that category plus we both have problems getting shoes that fit comfortably , especially when walking. I'm particularly hard to fit because of a leg brace that requires one shoe to be larger than another. Shoe Comfort had styles we liked and, more importantly, had the brand of shoe that had seen me through ten years of overseas and domestic trips, delivering Meals on Wheels and daily use. We found the size that fit the braced foot, so the owner worked for half an hour to put together the proper combination of inserts to make the other shoe fit. When we got home, my wife found that one pair she bought was slightly tight after walking around the house for half an hour. She returned with that pair, explained the problem and the staff went through the same routine for her to make one size fit comfortably. There was no charge for the inserts and the staff were pleasant while providing after-sales service (rare in retail). I should mention that our visit to Shoe Comfort took place during the pandemic. The store provided hand sanitizer at the door and a cheerful reminder to use it before poking around. Capacity was limited to four people and the four chairs were neatly socially distanced. As soon as a customer left, the chairs were sanitized and, as soon as we left, the owner cleaned he outside door handles. I have never seen such impressive measures, especially in a smaller store. We can't be the only people in Edmonton who have problems fitting shoes. To all the others out there like us, we found the place to go.

The shoes we're really that fashionable or that attractive, except for maybe a few of the flats. But Mephisto's focus is not on fashion; it's on comfort. Most of their shoes are for walking, hiking, or good for work. The prices were outrageous though. A pair of flats were $200-$300 dollars, and most of the other shoes were in this range. I noticed some of the shoes were made in Portugal, and the leather was super soft. They indeed felt like they'd be very comfortable. They had men's and women's shoes, and they also sold a few shirts and coats, but only for men. These were really expensive too. A button-up long sleeved shirt was $150, and one a corduroy coat was $400! I don't think I'll ever be back here, but I think if you have money and are looking for a comfortable shoe, you might want to check it out.

We were greeted by the staff upon our entrance and they pointed out where the toddler shoes were which was lovely. I went and checked the sale racks but none were available in the toddler's size which was fine, as there were so many great pairs to try. The toddler ended up picking out two pairs of shoes (one that lit up! and another very fun pair too!) and we were able to check out quickly and got a nice backpack/bag to carry them in. I liked how the staff were so kind to the kid and that they were so helpful. I personally find Skechers comfortable so I probably ought to come shop here someday for myself too as I'm all out of closed toed casual but work appropriate flats... but perhaps that's an adventure for the fall or at least for another day.

It is nice to have something like this in the capilano area, where shopping options are limited, but I was hoping for better. I left with nothing.
