I first thought it was wallpaper made to look like Life magazine pages, but some pages seemed to be peeling. I don't mind reading hemorrhoid ads from the 60's while drinking my beer per se, just an observation. The furniture was mismatched like estate sale items picked up from people who wanted to think they were high class in the 1960's. You could probably still smell Lucky Stripes every time you sat on the seat cushions. There was no music playing and there were only 6 or 7 (don't you dare do that 6-7 thing with your hands while reading this!) other people inside. So, I had to listen to this pretentious group talking about opera, the child welfare system and other topics while their noses were up and pinkies were out. There was an older guy on the opposite end of the room that seemed to be loudly mocking them. He thanked me for coming as I was leaving.... was he the owner? LOL. I ordered my standard flight from a very nice lady that seemed to be new. I got 2 IPA's (Mongoose Slayer and Striker IPA) that were solid, a Black Venom stout that was ok and a Belgian Quad (Medusa) that I wasn't fond of. There are no food options, but I assume there are food trucks from time to time. The outdoor area has a few games and tables and a more normal atmosphere. If they had some music to drown out Lilith and Frasier, I'd go back and give them a try.

B-52 also brews 11 Below's beers so they have both available in the tap room. I got my standard flight which consisted of a stout, 2 IPA's and a doppelbock. All of them were pretty good but the doppelbock was phenomenal. The best I have ever had for that style. It was a little chocolately, malty, and sweet. They had a pizza kitchen onsite that looked tasty. The outdoor sitting area is very nice, lots of trees so it feels like you are at a campsite. They also have an indoor sitting area but it's not much on atmosphere.

The food was decent, but trying to get a server and keep one was very challenging. At one point, we seen all the waitresses walking around the cement walkway together far away from customers.... Just hanging out. Not only were we irritated, but I could see that others were as well. My husband had to go to the bar and get a beer since we couldn't find our waitress. The bartender ignored him and continued her story to another employee while my husband stood there. She finished her story and then took his order. This was on a Sunday around 2 PM so it wasn't extremely busy. The service was very disappointing and we won't be back. The two star rating is because the food was decent.

They are running a comedy club in the upstairs, A bar upstairs and a restaurant downstairs. The food's okay less Tex-Mex now, more high end. I gotta say it isnt cheap eats, a lot of 40 dollar entres now. The drinks were okay again, probably a tad overpriced. Service was okay. The beer came in koozies that still said Willis, Texas. The sign over the bar, still said dock sidebar. But that WAS its charm. I would come to this restaurant for a special event like the comedy club, But it would not be Top of my list for a Mexican restaurant (or whatever it is now) in Conroe.

The bad part was it came with about 3 inches of foam on top. th The ladyfriend ordered the Miracle City Pilsner and it was overly carbonated. The place itself is beautiful. Fass has that old classic bar look from a century ago. They had pizza and I think one or 2 more things on the menu. I wasn't about to try to anything outside of a one and done beer.
