Derick is an excellent guest relations manager and he took me for a few test drives first thing in the morning. I told him exactly what I was looking for and what it'd take to make a deal and he worked with me to make it happen. Randy the GM was excellent as well and worked with Derick to ensure a smooth process. Stephen the manager for paperwork and financing made the process very smooth and Zach helped out with setup of the systems and explained everything well. My reason for coming here out of all the Toyota dealerships in Hampton Roads was based on my previous excellent experience at First Team Subaru, and First Teams lifetime oil change and warranty. I told Derick and Randy I'd previously had the best car buying experience in my life at First Team Subaru, so I figured that'd be what I'd get here, and I definitely got the same if not better treatment here at First Teams lifetime Toyota!

First team claims to have "lifetime…read moreoil changes" what they won't tell you at signing is that getting your oil changed at no cost after Toyota care has expired is contingent upon doing all other maintenance required at the time of service. So if you're at 30k miles and you pop in for your "complimentary oil change" be prepared to pay upwards of 300 dollars just for a tire rotation cabin air filter and engine air filter. Extremely marked up prices even by dealership standards.

Eric went to the Parts department to see if the tonneau cover was available to upgrade the SEL model to fit our needs. When that didn't work out, he located an out-of-state SEL Activity model that could be shipped in. Across repeated visits, the following outcomes were documented through service records and later inspection: -The right front CV axle was found under-torqued after a repair performed here. -The left front CV axle was found over-torqued after a separate repair performed here. -Brake work represented as OEM was later identified as non-OEM. -Suspension work was represented differently than what was installed, and symptoms continued. -Multiple safety-critical repairs were followed by minimal or no verification test driving, sometimes as little as 0-1 mile. -Despite continued symptoms, I was advised that "no safety concern was found." Later inspections confirmed otherwise. This matter is now part of an active Hyundai corporate case supported by service records, mileage logs, and documentation from multiple facilities. I am posting this so other customers are aware and so the dealership has an opportunity to address the documented issues publicly. If you are considering this dealership for brakes, suspension, or driveline work, I strongly recommend independent verification.

Exceptional Service from Sam Pedraza and First Team Honda!!!…read more I recently brought my 2018 Honda Accord to First Team Honda after it suddenly began jerking while driving, lost power, and displayed a flashing check engine light. What could have been a very stressful and expensive experience turned into one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had thanks to Sam Pedraza and the service team at First Team Honda. From the moment I arrived, Sam listened carefully to my concerns, documented the symptoms, and ensured the vehicle was thoroughly diagnosed. The technicians performed extensive testing and discovered that coolant was leaking into cylinders 3 and 4 due to a failed head gasket. They conducted pressure and leak-down tests to accurately identify the problem before recommending repairs. What impressed me most was Sam's communication throughout the process. He personally called to explain the diagnosis, outlined the repair plan, discussed the expected timeline, and kept me informed every step of the way. His professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to answer questions gave me complete confidence that my vehicle was in good hands. The repair itself was substantial. The dealership replaced the cylinder head gasket and numerous associated components, including gaskets, seals, fluids, coolant, oil, and filters as part of Honda's warranty extension program. Despite the significant amount of work involved, Sam delivered outstanding news: the entire repair was covered under Honda's warranty extension, resulting in a $0 customer balance. As if that wasn't enough, First Team Honda also performed a complimentary multi-point inspection, oil and filter change, Virginia state inspection, and even provided a free car wash. Sam also took the time to identify future maintenance items that may need attention down the road, helping me make informed decisions about my vehicle's long-term care. In today's world, it is rare to find a dealership that combines technical expertise, honesty, transparency, and exceptional customer service. Sam Pedraza exemplifies everything a service advisor should be. He turned what could have been a costly engine repair into a smooth, stress-free experience. Because of this experience, I will confidently recommend First Team Honda to family, friends, and coworkers. They have earned my trust, and this is now the only dealership I plan to use for service in the Hampton Roads area. Thank you, Sam, and the entire First Team Honda team, for exceeding my expectations. Highly recommended!

They did the recall repairs (which included an anti-theft recall that was too late because someone already tried to break in and steal my car once and the alarm didn't work) they charged me over $200 for a diagnostic when I declined the repair suggested. The estimate they provided was $1200 for parts and one hour of labor. I purchased parts for $230 and my mechanic did the repairs for the cost of their labor ($80+). I will gladly give my money to some place that isn't making people pay for the showroom attached to the service area by making them pay for time they didn't use to get any repairs. Shady. If you want a reliable place, don't look here unless it's under warranty. Very dissatisfied with the outcome of this trip.

One of the mechanics suggested that I get new front brake pads. He said I would have to pay around $1,200 out of pocket for it. I asked if it was safe to drive. He said yes, but suggested I definitely get new front brake pads at my next oil change. This morning I went to a new Subaru dealership by my new house (I moved to New England). I explained about the front brake pads. The guy said, "Oh yeah, we'll check it out. If they need to be replaced, it will be at no charge to you because of your warranty." When I asked about the warranty, he said he could pull it up under my VIN. Anything brake related is covered by Subaru until 150,000 miles for my car. I told him that in Virginia, they informed me that I would have to pay out of pocket and didn't say anything about a warranty. He looked genuinely confused that they would make me pay. I wasn't confused. I suspected First Team was being shady about certain things. This just confirmed it. And I'm glad I waited until I got up here to get everything replaced. They had to replace the front brake pads and front rotors which was $1,600, but all covered under my warranty. If you drive a Subaru and go to First Team, make sure you're paying extra attention to your warranty.

A week into having the vehicle the lights of the door handles would not turn off. We called to see what appointments they had and inquired about the risk of waiting too long that it could drain the battery. They told us to come in. We did and they reassured they would fix the issue. We went to pick up the vehicle the next day and the service department was closed so we went to the front to pick up the key. When we went to get the car we noticed the lights still were on and not turned off. The front desk told us we would have to come back the next day. We did just that. They let us know they were going to have to replace the parts and paint it the same color as the rest of the car. We would have to pick it up another day. We ended up having to pick it up in my birthday and they initially wanted us to pay $150 for the paint. On a vehicle we purchased about 2 weeks prior brand new car. We had them double check the warranty and stated that it would be covered. I was satisfied with the resolution but annoyed that we had to return and take away time from my birthday due to them not initially fixing the issue. Now fast forward to a few weeks ago. I scheduled an appointment for the 13th of December I scheduled it weeks ago. I called a few days prior to ask for a quote for the visit. The lady on the phone was not friendly at all. She asked for my number, name, and the dealership the appointment was for. She then let me know it would be $40 I was surprised and ask her again if that's the cost for the entire visit, and confirmed it was for the 80k visit maintenance appointment. In a stern voice she said "$40 yes it's just a routine visit" Husband and I arrive to our appointment and are told it will be $150 for oil and tire rotation it would only be $40 if we had purchased from that dealership. We asked why the price was quoted $40. They said their call center can give wrong information. We took our business elsewhere.
