I waited a while to leave this review. Naturally, the day you buy the car is the best service you're going to receive at a dealership. For me, every time I have come here has been an amazing, gracious experience. I was sold my car by the dapper C.J. Morris, who is a man that keeps things real. Each time I came in afterward he recognizes me and shakes my hand. Drivers World has a good policy of "price as marked" with no haggling, since their prices are already low. I don't know about that across the board, but my 2010 Hyundai Accent was a great deal. I have had two issue happen with my car since its purchase. The first was when my spare key came in from the Hyundai Mother Ship. We tried it out and it got stuck in the ignition! Samantha, in their service dept., immediately got me a rental and called a locksmith to look at it the next day. My car was fixed up that next day too, the locksmith had to re-cut part of the key. My second issue was when my car suddenly didn't start one day after work. I took a panicked trip in the tow truck to Drivers World where they got me a loaner car that night. They called me in the morning and told me it was the starter. I returned my loaner and they got me a rental; a few days later I picked up my car from Checkered Flag Hyundai. Bought 2 vehicles on tues, 4/10/18. Our salesman was great but the overall experience was terrible. The cars on the lot were not very clean. One car we were going to test drive had a dead battery. The next car had no has in it and the 323rd vehicle that we did purchase had a back door that would not open. I question if the cats are even inspected. Drivers world still has my husband's car trying to fix the door. We were at this place for 6 hrs! I do not recommend buying from this dealership! read more

Very poor customer service and the cars are over priced. The salesman "greet" you at the door but won't let you in the lot to brows and look at the cars unless you tell them what kind of car your looking for. Furthermore, they do not negotiate their prices. Their prices are firm and over priced. Then they want to hit you with their $600.00 processing fee even if you are paying cash for the car. The processing fee is supposed to be only if you are financing the car. They refused to lower the processing fee for a cash deal. It doesn't cost $600.00 to make a bill of sale and sign the title over to you. This is a major rip-off. And to take it a step further, They do not give you a good warranty. I will never go there again. Go to a real car dealership and you will get a much better deal by a professional sales person who will work with you on the price and a real warranty. read more

We were immediately greeted when we walked into the showroom and our salesperson that we spoke to over the phone was gotten for us. Both vehicles that we inquired about were ready to look at side by side. Xavier answered all of the questions that we had and our trade-in went smoothly. We did have to wait a few hours because there was only one financial person working, but I think that's normal at any dealership, it was definitely shorter than I had experienced before at others. Rigel! Came into Driver's World in a crunch due to the recent flooding in Virginia Beach after someone suggested how great of an experience they had there. Rigel was THE BEST! I mean.... THE ABSOLUTE BEST. After test driving a few cars I liked, Rigel suggested a crossover I would've never EVER considered- and I immediately fell in love. Since it was the end of the day, he let me take it for the night and return it the next day. No need to return though- because I ended up just buying it the next day. waiting to get financed was a little slow- but that's because they were slammed (I am assuming a lot of people were affected by the flood as I was.) but once I was in, signing the papers- processing was quick and easy. everything was as upfront as can be. STAY AWAY! This place is advertised as an alternative to Carmax, but it is not. Bought a car here years ago and had a great experience, but the place has changed management since and is now CREEPY. The dealers inside were unaware of their inventory and totally unprofessional. We went in looking for a car with a leather interior and they didn't have any. We were told to "pick one" that we wanted and that we could get leather installed. No thanks. And please stop eating grapes while you say to me, "it's your money, you do what you want with it." Wanted to like this place but it's the same old used car shark in sheep's clothing. Son and daughter each bought a car in one day. It took 6 hrs to complete transactions. One seemingly great and one a little dirty. The clean one however was found later to have a latent electronic defect that could not have been detected. After numerous calls finally met in person with the general manager Lee Brooks. He agreed problem should have been addressed before car was sold. Lots of feel good bluster, we are sorry, I will fix it, we stand behind our cars, I will have my lackey make sure this is made right. What an actor, didn't even crack a smile or laugh. You guessed it the top dog was never to be heard of again and underling did nothing. After much struggle they finally agreed to force extended insurance policy to refund remaining $1000 which my son paid for anyhow. DW essentially did nothing. Moral of the story, extended policy-worthless. Lee Brook's word - less than worthless. So Driver's World is just another take advantage of customer used car lot. So when it came time for me to buy a car, did I go to DW-hell no. Went to Carmax, no hassle, clean cars, and fast service, and yes the car is fantastic. Driver's who? Wannabes. It's only fair to share true experiences like this so customers know up front what they are dealing with. read more

"Worst customer service!" Don't use their repair services! Samantha, who is the only person that you have to talk to is the rudest person, and that is putting it mildly. Then she laughs and chuckles because she know that the so-called warranty with a 250 deductible doesn't cover anything. So, in other words they sales you a piece of junk so you have to pay them to fix it. Go to a real dealership and service center. They actually do inspect the vehicle before you buy if. We came in looking for a car hard to find the the market. Found it, priced below market value, and actually in surprisingly good shape. When we came in, we were greeted, but just a hello from the desk staff, which is perfect. We walked out onto the lot and to the car on our own, and of course that's when the salesperson greeted us. Luke is your man. Between him and his team leader they took care of us in a no hassle, no pressure way. Extended test drive overnight, we had a full schedule so we came back and forth a few times to handle the paperwork. The value for the car was accurately priced, and the upfront car fax made the history of the vehicle a non point. That they get the car from auction is a pricing difference, and they offered, but didn't haggle or pressure you to death, for buying their extended service plans and other features. They work with over 30 different lenders through the Checkered Flag network so financing was simple. And, they took our trade in for a little bit more than value offered which is great. They did get a little excited and forgot to detail the car when we finished paperwork, would like to have had all the sticker glue off windows and the plastic dealer mats removed... and we discovered when we got home the key lock box still in the back. But they were really down to earth and real guys just working out what we wanted in a car, so that part of the experience out weighed the details. When brought up they wanted us to come back to fix those things right away! Would recommend them by far for an easy buying experience that doesn't take forever and make you feel dirty at the end like most dealers. Great job! read more

I do not have the time or inclination to drive dealership to dealership looking at cars. Nor do I have the skill or patience to haggle for the best price. Driver's World is in the Checkered Flag family, and since I purchased my last vehicle there, I decided to give them a shot. I shopped their inventory online, so had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for. I was fortunate enough to be greeted by Mr. Chris Sandlin when I arrived, and he turned out to be a great help in the car-buying process. Chris asked all of the right questions to get an idea of what I was looking for, then sat down to go over their inventory to see if there was anything I missed. Because they are part of Checkered Flag, they can access the inventory at any of those locations as well. It was a cold, rainy day, so Chris pulled 3 or 4 vehicles under the awning for me to look at. I had mentioned to him that an engine with some "get up and go" was important to me, but that I feared a V6 was out of my price range. He heard that and brought up a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, which has a turbo. Good looking car, low miles,right price! Sold! I cannot believe how easy Chris made the process. When I picked the car up two days later I don't think I was there even 45 minutes. All of the paperwork was done, the car had been derailed, the financing was squared away...awesome! Bought my wife's vehicle from them and everything was fine so went back to get my son a vehicle 2 months later. I picked out a nice vehicle for him and since it was the day before Christmas and they were going to be closed for the next couple of days they were a little pushy to have me take the vehicle home so I could give it to my son for Christmas. I worked out the deal with Chris that as soon as the insurance check I was expecting came in I would come in and pay the vehicle off in full so there was no down payment involved. We came in a couple days after Christmas and used my sons old Van as a trade in on the new vehicle, finalized all the paperwork and again I told Chris that I would be in within the next few days to pay it off. Everyone was happy and off we went. Being the holidays things were moving slower than normal and I did not get the check until a week later, all during this time I was in constant contact with Chris and he told me no problem. I received the check on Dec 31st and called Chris and told them that I would be in as soon as the banks opened Monday morning with a cashiers check, he told me that was fine. I showed up Monday morning as promised and the Chris I had been working with had been fired and another Chris had taken over. I explained to the new Chris what had been agreed upon between myself and the old Chris and he was very rude and told me that the deal that the other Chris had made was against company policy and because we were waiting for the title to arrive on my sons trade in Van ($400 btw) I would need to have a credit card on file so they could charge the $400 they had offered for the trade in on the Van and once the title was delivered they would reimburse me for the $400. I told him that was not what was agreed to and if they were going to be jerks about this I would take the $15,000 cashiers check I had made out to them and I would take my business elsewhere. They could not do that because they weren't even sure where the van was. I told him that they were not going to get a credit card from me and just as I promised with the check I would deliver the title as soon as it arrived from California. He kept insisting that the deal that the old Chris had made with me was against company policy and I told him I didn't care because at the time the deal was made he was an authorized employee of the company. This new Chris was rude and obnoxious and treated me like I was trying to rip them off for the $400 trade in. Things calmed down after the salesman came in and told him that the deal was worked out with the now fired Chris. I gave them the check, got my receipt and told them that I would be in with the title as soon as it arrive. About 10 days later the title arrived from California and I took it into them and they had no idea what it was for. This made me a little upset because Chris had made such a big deal of it. When I talked to him about it he was even more rude than the first time. I left there and called the corporate office and talked to them and they assured me that the manager would give me a call back, well it has been months and I have heard nothing from them. They have lost all my business and I am recommending that no one ever buys vehicle from them. read more

If your own people have to boost your dealership's reviews, then you know you're getting screwed. Very unpleasant experience. Looked at a 2010 Scion tC 5spd with ~37k miles. Beautiful car and was extremely well detailed, so I will give them that. They wanted $15,552. Car was worth maybe $14k. Claimed they "paid $15k for it" which was an outright lie. It was a $10k trade-in and you know it. Wouldn't budge on the price. Claimed I wasn't ready to buy and maybe I need a car in a lower price range. They use high pressure sales tactics and act all friendly until it comes time to negotiate price. Then the BS hammer comes down full force. I found a 2nd Gen 2012 tC 6spd with 13k miles at Cavalier Ford and bought it for $15,500. Do the math and let that sink in. "Driver's World. I've gotten 2 cars through Driver's World and both times I had great experiences. I got both of them through Reggie Dildy and he is the absolute man! He's really laid back. He treated each of his customers like family and he knows his stuff. He won't try to pressure you into anything and I GUARANTEE every time you go in there and see him, you'll walk out with a smile on your face. The 1st car I got through him got totaled in an accident but when I went back, he found me the perfect car that was within my budget. It had to go through the shop to get inspected and needed to be cleaned but I went in on a Saturday and everything was closed. But on my Monday it was available. I had the worst Experienced of a life time with drivers world do not buy a car here they 1st sold me car with a broken back windshield then they scheduled me to come up there to the shop to get it fixed however when I came they informed me that I had to come back for they didn't make the appointment with the company who removed the windshield. 2 weeks later I traveled home to see my family and a car that I only had for 28 days ran hot.I took it to a nearby shop who changed the water pump and also thermostat which I spent over $1,500 for the car to still run hot . They sold me a piece of shit. The car I had wasa. BMW I'm still trying to get my car fixed the sale,an informed me which was a damn lie that they take all their cars thru an extensive check. I had been searching for a car for weeks and finally went to Driver's world. Greeted at the door by Amy, explained to her that I wanted a car with manual transmission and she showed me what they had. Since I wasn't sure if one they had would work for me, she and her manager Chris let me have it overnight to be sure. She was pleasant, not typical car sales person you come across and very understanding. She spent a lot of time showing me all the cars they had and not once did she make me feel like I was wasting her time. The manager Chris was great too. They were upfront and honest about everything.
