The buying experience is fine...the support after the purchase is garbage. I bought a 2026 Sienna from Hall in March and the process was fine. I recently sent a request for clarification on the warranty since I have been inundated with mailings stating that I neglected to properly register my warranty. My assumption is that these are just spam/phishing/aftermarket type mailings, but I reached out to the dealership to make sure the dealership properly reported the purchase to Toyota and that my warranty is active. No response. I called and was instantly put into their voicemail system...which disconnected me twice before I was able to leave a message. In the future, I would recommend going with a different dealership than Hall as they do not believe in supporting the customer AFTER you have given them your money. I will likely be doing any warranty work and maintenance with Checkered Flag as I no longer find Hall trustworthy. read more

This review is for the Parts Department only. It was my first time. Easy parking close by the door. No debris in the lot, or walk up. Once I entered the store and employee greeted me and when told looking for parts walked me there. The parts department is compact, but they pack in some really cool branded Toyota merchandise. Assistance a bit slow, but once I rang the bell was immediate, I explained the issue with a Toyota key fob working intermittently after battery replacement in the Spring. The staff inspected and appeared to work, but they replaced the battery again, no charge. Super easy and impressed with their parts department. I've seen nothing but horrible service for the most part every time I go there recently. Today was just a rude response when I stop to check in the afternoon for a simple oil change when I checked online yesterday and the entire afternoon had every time available. This is after: 1) Mis-diagnosed check engine light, no I did not need a new fuel pump at $2k, just O2 Sensors at $200 2) And they left the fuel line loose on the engine causing a leak which fortunately did not start a fire as I drove it home 3) Leaving lugs nuts loose on a tire after a safety inspection thus making the car not safe 4) Under inflating the tires on a safety inspection causing the tire light to come on (which they still not fixed after taking it back). This is just my cars that were purchased there. Know a friend that had a tire come off on Laskin Road after an inspection due to not tightening the lug nuts. Love my Toyotas but the service at Hall will mean that I buy my next ones from a different dealership. Guess I am missing Charlie! read more

They did that too and very reasonable time frame. Super courteous. Love how they do a video of the inspection and send it right to my phone. THey gave recommendations of things that need to be fixed. After waiting 6 hours for an oil change & inspection that I had scheduled days in advance with priority Toyota in Chesapeake (yes I showed up on time... I was actually 20 min early) I decided I wasn't going back to them again. hall Toyota got me scheduled the same day, 30 minutes after calling them my truck was being taken in for service, they gave me a ride home & picked me up to bring me back to the dealership for free! I'm so sad that Charles Barker sold their business to Hall Toyota. I've seen nothing but horrible service for the most part every time I go there. I truly believe that they despise the fact that they inherited the Barker clientele that gets free oil changes and inspections for life. I had scheduled an appointment for an oil change and to change my rear windshield wiper per their suggestion. When I called I informed them that it was for an OIL CHANGE. When I get there, I'm informed that my vehicle gets an oil change once a year because of the oil they use. I've never heard or been told that. Up until now, my vehicle has gotten an oil change every 5,000 miles. Then I asked about the windshield wiper and her response to me was, "if you go to the parts department and buy it I will find someone to install it for you." I had to literally look at her to make sure it wasn't a joke! I'm not sure why it surprises me because the very first time I went there, I witnessed a service representative belittle and humiliate an elderly couple. The level of unprofessionalism was totally unacceptable. It actually caused me distress because I was next in line and I'm not one to tolerate disrespect. Thank goodness another representative opened her window and I didn't have to deal with him. Now they are trying to get me to get a service that I just got less than a year ago and clearly my vehicle doesn't need (just got my car inspected and it passed Nothing wrong just some suggestions such as my rear windshield wiper). I get it, the economy is bad and everyone is out to make money but at least offer good customer service and don't make your customers waist their time. I called yesterday to try to get info on a trade/sell for my car, I spoke with an Anthony, who said he'd run numbers and call me back. He never called me back and then the next morning I get a call from someone else who works there. I returned the call, to which they just texted me instead which was fine. But after texting them that I had spoke to someone yesterday, he was supposed to call back etc, they also stopped texting. Not to mention, amanda who was the one to reach out to me today, said she didn't even see anything in the notes from when I spoke to an Anthony yesterday. So im not even sure if he looked into my car or if he did anything covered under his job title. Horrible service. If you need to sell or trade your car, go somewhere else because if they can't help you or take your car they don't even have the common decency to tell you that straight up. My husband and I purchased a new Toyota RAV4 last month from Hall Toyota. We always get our cars serviced there and Chris always takes outstanding care of everything. That was the reason we started looking for a car there. Well, it was a four-hour ordeal and when we asked what they would give us for my husband's Nissan Rouge 2014 that was in perfect condition with all the upgrades, they said they would match the price that they said Carmax would pay for it. The salesman went to his supervisor and came back with a quote of $2,847, but because we were such good customers, they would give us $4,500. I knew that was way lower than what the car was worth and while we were waiting, I put all our car information on my phone into Carmax, and the price I was given was $8,400. When I showed that to the salesman, he took it back to his supervisor who claimed to have made a mistake, and they honored the $8,400. They gave us NO APPOLOGY!!! This was outrageous as they were cheating us out of $4,000. We did buy the car with our trade-in value of $8,400, but we will never buy from them again. PLUS, I contacted the head manager for all Hall dealerships and told him the situation. His response was that they should not have to apologize. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! BEWARE read more

DON'T take your car there for accident repairs unless you want to wait for more than a month to get it back. They had my car for 10 days before they even looked at it. I only went there because my insurance company basically made me go there because Hall Toyota is their preferred dealer in Virginia Beach. (If you take it to a non preferred dealer, then you're liable for anything above the initial estimate.). Communication was terrible. They said they'd call you right back which they never did. Then you had to chase them down the next morning and then in the afternoon to finally speak to someone, only to be told that the part they ordered that took a week to get there was wrong. (Either they ordered the wrong part or the part came in wrong.) They only ordered the parts that were damaged on the surface and didn't look behind the parts that needed to be replaced for damage. So finally when the correct parts came in and they replaced the damaged parts, then they see more damaged parts behind the ones on the surface. So this nightmare starts all over again. We finally got the car back after 33 days but then something else was not fixed so we had to take it back AGAIN! 34 days in total. So many days were lost due to their lack of communication. What a nightmare! I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I strongly advise you to NOT use Hall Toyota. read more

Update 7/26/18: After a glowing sales process, the service department failed. I made an appointment for 3:00 yesterday and arrived early at 2:30. After 90 minutes of waiting my truck hadn't moved. The service manager told me to come back the following day and he would expedite my truck through. I did as instructed, went up the next day at the scheduled time, and had my truck back in about 30 mins. This is where I get pissed... The complementary 5000 mile service includes a tire rotation. So, just to see if they did it, I marked my front left wheel with an "L" by the valve stem before I took it in. Sure enough, the paperwork says I got a tire rotation but that wheel hasn't been touched. They lied! Flat out, caught red handed! So if that wasn't done, what else did you lie about? How many people are getting ripped off?? I can't believe a "reputable" dealership would allow this from their service department. Don't buy or do business here. It isn't worth the disappointment. Original review: Saying this car-buying experience was excellent is an understatement! Steve met us on the lot and found me the truck with everything I wanted. To be sure I was getting the best deal, I told him I was going to check out other dealerships. He didn't argue or try to hold me back, just politely told me that if I wanted the truck to lethim and he'd start the paperwork and get it washed and fueled for me. After shopping around all day, I realized the best deal was at Charles Barker Toyota. I texted Steve and told him I wanted the truck. By the time I got back to the dealership the truck was clean and had a full tank of gas. Steve has completed most of the paperwork and within an hour I was driving home with my new truck. Terrible customer service, or better referred to as NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Just wanted the "maintenance required" light reset. Oil change was due but it will be a week or two before I could take it in, so I wanted it reset incase a real issue happened. Service Adviser Christopher B. refused.
