I trust and appreciate Joel's knowledge and honesty. Last week I made an appointment for breaks, oil change, headlight and State Inspection. A few hours after dropping my car off I received a call from Joel saying my breaks are in good shape and no need for maintenance at this time.. WOOO HOOO! Mike got in my vehicle with me for a test drive so he could experience what was happening. When they got it into the garage, they sent me multiple photos with a detailed description of exactly what the problem was. When the part arrived, it was fixed within hours and my 18-year-old Toyota drives like the dream it was before the problem arose. Be careful of this place!!! Took my car for a state inspection they told me I needed new brakes (run me around 800$) failed me due to my brakes. I took it home for my dad a mechanic to fix to save me some money my brakes looked BRAND NEW. I got my car a little over a year ago before I brought it to them so I was stunned I needed new ones. Took it to Mr. tire down the road pass with no problems. I'd be surprised if they were even going to change my brakes at all or just charge me for it. I will never go here again!!! This shop came recommended from my church. My wife's alternator went out on her while I was away, so I had it towed here. The quote came back for $830, about $200 above what it should have been. After discussing this with him, he dropped it down $80 for military discount and 1/2 off the diagnostic (a service that they shouldn't have been charging me for anyway)... After my wife picked it up and sent me the receipt, I saw they tacked on another 3% for credit card charge and charged me $43.50 for "shop supplies." After calling Stacy back to find out what supplies were used, he told me gloves, rags and break cleaner. All nowhere near the price he charged. I always choose my mechanic very carefully. After a year of consistent high quality service, mastertech has earned my trust. In an industry known for shady business practices that prey upon customers with little mechanical knowledge, the folks at mastertech have shown the highest degree of integrity. To give one example, I needed an inspection and brought my vehicle in. It failed due to brakes that were extremely rusted. To pass it would need new pads and calipers on the rear tires. They gave me a quote that was in line with what other mechanics would charge, but still too much for me. I spent an afternoon replacing the parts myself and sure enough, rusted enough to lift an eyebrow or two. Once I completed the replacement I brought it in again and they performed a reinspection, at no charge to myself. Which, I was clueless about and was prepared to pay for the reinspection, but they didn't take advantage of the situation. As someone who has dealt with shady dealerships attempting to charge over $400 to put a washer on a heat shield (true story; in the end it still cost $125) I can tell you the importance of having a trustworthy mechanic. Usually, if they inspect something in your car, you won't have to pay anything, unless they really think you need to replace or repair the part. Stacy, the owner, seems like an honest business man and an overall good person. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. He offers a military discount of 10% excluding inspections which are a flat $16 (assuming your vehicle doesn't need any work, which mine didn't!). There was almost a two hour wait but he did tell me that in advance. He is so friendly and his shop definitely beats the Honda dealership. He doesn't fix windshields but the shop next to his does and they have a good working relationship. If you need something done that he doesn't do he will get a quote from the other shop and give you a call. I will continue to use Master Tech Auto Care for my future auto service needs. read more

I was able to start it up again, get gas, and drive around town ok but I was quite leery about driving this back to NW IN. I called around a dozen auto shops, all Toyota stores were busy till next week. Mastertech said if I could come out right away, they would run a diagnostic before day's end. So off I went. Great customer service, friendly staff, ran a diagnosis and it was nothing major to worry about but just to make sure I get gas before the empty alert triggers. Peace of mind and they didn't charge me for the diagnostic. Happy customer! If you're local, look these guys up but I'll be heading back home later this week. Almost got massively taken advantage of by mastertech. I "failed" my inspection due to "unsafe" brakes and horrific rust on my rotors and brake pads. Was quoted $1000 but it was ONLY $900 with the military discount. Had to drive around with my big rejection sticker until Beach Ford could resolve the issue. I actually passed my state inspection and only had to have my rear rotors replaced and some resurfacing done on my front rotors, my brake pads were beautiful so no need to replace. I just saved about $400 by going to the dealership. Glad mastertech supports our military...NOT! read more

Made an appointment on a Friday early afternoon for a VA state inspection. Get there a few minutes early, zero places to park. I leave the car right at the front door, go in to check in for my appointment, but says, "oh car is good right there we'll call you later when it's done" I mention I have an appointment and he just smiles and says something to the effect "oh, this are just drop off times, not times we work on the car" informing me he won't get to it until much later in the day. It's cold. Raining, and I have no where to go without taking an Uber home then back. Nope.. not good business guys, you take appointment to work on cars, not appointments to begin an afternoon off wait time. read more

I highly recommend that no one ever frequents this business. I came in for a safety inspeaction on my 3 year old car with only 22,000 miles on it, and they managed to rack up a list of reasons why this almost brand new car should fail inspection because it was "unsafe to drive". Safety inspections take 20-30 mins, this one took 50 mins. They spent that entire time looking for something wrong to charge me for, because I am a woman. Don't waste your time here. I should have known something was up when I called every other place in town and they had a full day's wait, but this place told me to come right in because there was no one else in line. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this shop. I had my car evaluated by the other guys that gave me a nickel and dime automized list of everything that needed to be fixed on my car. The estimate was a little more than I was prepared for. So I took my vehicle to this shop for a second opinion. The owner went over everything with me. First off, let me say that I have very limited knowledge about cars so whenever I need maintenance, I'm basically at the mercy of the mechanic. I took my car to a dealership after experiencing some car trouble where they told me it would cost 4K to fix the issue. A friend of mine then referred me to MasterTech. Upon calling them, they were able to accommodate me immediately, diagnose my car and call me despite it being after their work hours to tell me what was wrong with my car. MasterTech repaired my car the same day I bought it in for less then $400-which is crazy because I was told by the dealership that my best bet would be to spend 4K to fix the car or to just get a new car all together. Not only that, but Stacy (the owner) test drove my car to make sure it was safe and was also able to explain what was wrong with my car in a way where I could understand-he even drew a picture during the explanation which I really appreciated.
