Left out the door with tire pressure warning lights, light bulbs not working and brakes squealing. Brought it back the next day, they claimed the car was too advanced for their knowledge. Almost 60 bucks to replace a light bulb and charged triple the price of brake pads to replace them. Lastly they charge a 3% fee on all card transactions and they don't accept American Express cards. Will definitely not return there again. read more

They diagnosed my problem accurately and gave me a fair price. The quality of the work was excellent.

They scammed my elderly disabled mother out of $500 claiming that lights on the SUV needed to be replaced in order for her to pass inspection. For some reason, my mother went along with it, despite all of the lights having been replaced on the SUV literally a month before in preparation of her receiving the vehicle. Absolutely nothing was wrong with those lights being that they were all brand new and deemed ok by another two other auto shops. Had I known that my mother was going to use this place for her vehicle inspection I would have reminded her that this was the same place that tried to scam me, years ago, to fail my vehicle inspection for a serpentine belt. A serpentine belt that had been recently replaced by the dealership (Kimnach Ford) and that had absolutely NOTHING to do with a state inspection. Do not use these people if you cannot advocate for yourself and if you are not familiar with the process of state inspections because they will take your money. read more

They replaced the compressor for my ac. It was done quickly and at a very competitive price. It stopped working and they replaced it right away! Works like a charm. I always get my inspections , tires rotated and oil change. They do a great job. I think it is important to support small businesses in our area. read more

This is a great honest, local auto shop. I've had great experiences with them. They do the work right, quickly, and for a reasonable price. They don't play games, trying to upsell you, they only do what needs doing. I've actually had the experience of them telling me I didn't need an alignment when I came in for one. They're also great at getting you in on short notice if at all possible. If you're looking for a local mechanic you can trust, this is the place! read more

Nothing but good things to say about these guys. I bought my car only a few months ago and from the time I bought it the brakes were wonky. Recently they began squealing so I did a LOT of research on car mechanics to take my car to and decided on this place. Initially they called me up and said they didn't think there was anything wrong and so they wouldn't charge me. I appreciated their honesty. Then they called and said they figured it out and would charge me $600- slightly what I was expecting to pay, but fine nonetheless. Anyways, when I got to the place they had not only fixed my brakes but my engine as well AND they washed my car, too. They also charged me $100 less than what they quoted over the phone. I have nothing but good things to say about this car mechanic and would trust them if I ever needed my car to be serviced. read more

I called in advance and asked if they did free estimates and was told "yes, unless we have to do an electrical test or whatever then we'll charge for that" then when I got an estimate, which was ridiculously high, I said "ahh that's alright, I can get it done for less than 1/4 of that price but I appreciate it and will bring my next project up there though (as I have gotten work done there before and had a great experience- I was planning on being a lifetime customer!) but then the lady says let me see about the estimate- she came back on and said I owed $128 for them to tell me my fuel pump was bad.. I said but you said it was free estimates unless etc etc. she told me she never said that- now, I'm not making this up in my damn head- I remember saying, yes I understand completely if you have to charge for testing.. like I said, I liked the company and don't mind paying for their time.. but $128 sounded a little high especially after I specifically asked prior to having it dropped off. She put me on hold, then the owner Barry came on and 1st thing he said, rather almost yelled was "Hello?!! what?!! You don't like our price?!!" I said, "Hi Barry, no I respect your price but it's a little high for a fuel pump so I will get it done but I'm inquiring about the estimate.." he cut me off yelling at me, then raised the price of the estimate $10 from what I was quoted by the secretary 2 mins ago,then said- "No! You give us $128 before you'll ever get your truck back!" Then hung up on me..! I called back, trying to diffuse the situation and salvage the relationship.. he was ranting and I said "Barry, why you acting like this? I like you and the company but you're acting like a real D right now. Why? Then he kept on with how customers were waiting and just being rude and obnoxious- bottom line is.. I liked the company and Barry before this, but now they just lost a lifetime customer and if you think you're going to drop anything off, it's going to cost you at least $128 even if you get the work done or not- or they tell you that you WON'T get your vehicle back.... It was by far one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had in my life when dealing with a mechanic... I'm going somewhere else from now on and I suggest you do too! read more

Dropped my car on a Friday for a job that should've/could've been done within a few hours. The shop kept getting the wrong replacement part and kept pointing and shifting blame. I get some times you get the wrong part, but 5 TIMES in a row is a bit excessive. The communication in the meantime was terrible. After the first couple of days I didn't hear from them until the car was ready. Anyways needless to say I got my car back 8 DAYS later on the following Saturday. After the service my car developed some issues. Can't say if it's due to their work or not, but it sure seems like it. read more

I've been going here for years, but something changed. I tried to talk to the owner and said I understand the pressure regarding COVID, but he seemed more interested in arguing than genuinely listening. Basically it came down to two prices. He told me the estimate would be 600 for a fuel pump install. I approved the work, then he called me and stated that it was 800 dollars. He stated they sent him the wrong fuel pump. The most expensive fuel pump I found was 250 dollars if he doubled the mark up it's still more, and there were cheaper parts. The labor was correct, it's almost as if I had to pay for both pumps. I have been taking my car here for years and it makes me sad. I don't understand why he marked up the wrong price item. Now I have to find another mechanic. I really didn't want to write this review, but this place has changed. read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Willowwood Service Center since I moved here in 2006. For years, they provided excellent service. I also highly recommended Willowwood Service Center to my friends and family. A few years ago, however, their service began to decline. I have often had to take my car to the shop for rework. This morning was one such occasion. When I arrived, the shop was closed, so I waited at the door. Another guy came up and said he was there first. I said that's fine and when the shop opened up I let him go in. When he left, another guy went in in front of me saying he was there first, I said, "Okay," and let him go in. This was when the problem started. As the second gentleman went in, the guy behind the desk waved me in and said, "I hear you're trying to cut in line and get service before anyone else." I tried to explain that not only was that not the case as I had let two people who claimed they were there before me go in before me without argument, but I could not get a word in. I had been accused and in the eyes of the man behind the counter, I was guilty and that was enough for him. Since he didn't like me even trying to defend myself, he added, "and if you keep it up, I will send your a** down the street." Now, look. I think I'm a pretty reasonable guy, but why curse at me? Just say, "take your business elsewhere." That made me pretty upset and I responded with something that I knew I wouldn't be able to follow through with. I said, "You want me to take it down the street? Okay, I will. I was bringing my car in to fix something you guys did, but I'll happily take it somewhere else and I'll send you the bill." His response to that was even more excellent customer service when he said, "You can kiss my motherf***ing a**," which set me off even more and I threatened to get a lawyer. Obviously, that's an empty threat. I just took my car somewhere else where I'll probably pay more, but I will only have to have it in the shop one time. What isn't an empty threat is that I will never take my car to Willowwood Service Center ever again. I will also not get a lawyer, but I will use the power of capitalism to tell all my friends and family that have used Willowwood Service Center in the past never to go there again. I will also share this review everywhere I can to hopefully warn people away from the zero-star service offered by this once great Service Station. read more

Came with my wife to pickup her car. She's used Willowwood in the past, but this was my first time here. Staff are friendly, and clearly explained what was wrong with her car. Fair prices for repairs/maintenance to include parts and labor. When it comes to car shops, I value honesty and competency, and Willowwood serves both. read more

Women Beware: I'm sorry to say that I had a terrible experience here. Sometimes women are thought to be dumb about their vehicles. I dropped my car off to be inspected first thing in the morning. At the end of the day I called the shop to see if they were finished. I was told that although they were finished with the inspection the car had failed for several reasons. When the gentleman related the issues to me it sounded very complicated perhaps because he used words I had never heard before. He estimated that the work would cost around $700 if I wanted them to do the work. Luckily I decided to bring the vehicle to a tire and alignment shop where they completed all of the work for under $250. Whew! I almost paid three times that!! On the positive side, the people at the desk were kind and courteous. They seem to be busy with customers all the time, so hopefully others are having a better experience. read more

Had an inspection on a 04 Pilot, needed engine mounts and a few other things. Quoted 780 but after done was 605. They had been miss priced on parts but did not screw me, I like that. Good way to do business. read more

truthfully I've been taking my vehicles to Willowwood service center for years. They used to be the best but two things happened. One is they got too busy. By the end of the day used to mean by the end of the day. Now it means four or five days later. The second thing that happened is Barry Howlett took over the front desk. Clearly nepotism at its worst. I've seen him be rude to customers on previous visits and it was my turn today. But it went beyond rude today, he physically threatened me. It all started with numerous customers sitting in the parking lot waiting, as well as employees. One mechanic staring at the entrance to the facility shaking his head. I surmise the lateness to open up wasn't specific to today. But he eventually showed up and in little man syndrome fashion, jumped out of his oversized truck. By this time everyone was congregating by the front door. In his usual style he didn't greet anyone, he unlocked the door and went in. He came back a few moments later and started yelling at everybody to move their vehicles and then went back inside. When he was back inside I waved a finger at him to get his attention so he could tell me where to move my vehicle. A few minutes later he came flying out and said I gave him the finger. Yes, the index finger to get his attention so he could tell me where to park my vehicle. Again in typical little man syndrome fashion, in front of numerous customers, he started yelling at me and said I gave him the finger and told me he would F me up. He taunted me to step off of the curb and he would F me up. I then asked him if he was going to put his hands on me in front of all of these people and he said no but you're in the system. That's concerning because they have worked on my vehicles and my wife's vehicle and we are in his system. He knows where I live. It was concerning enough to me that I called the police and filed a report. His aggression was believable enough that I began to think of which way to turn my body if he came at me and threw a punch. I had eye surgery a few days ago and was already thinking about needing to protect that eye if he threw a punch. You go there to get your truck re-inspected and end up getting attacked by the owner. I used to love this place but as soon as Barry took over the front desk, it's gone down. It may take a while but it will catch up to them. If it works, it's all on their camera to view. Barry should be plugging tires not interacting with customers. Let me add also that the last few times I've taken my vehicle there it has always exceeded what they told me the cost would be. Barry is truly an idiot! If you're foolish enough to go there, you will see and take extra money because it will be more than what they tell you. read more

I always take my car here. Bob is a very friendly and attentive service manager. I used to take my car to a different shop, however for minor repairs and and oil change they quoted me $200. I came to Willow-wood where they did the work for half the price. I can tell the people at Willow-wood really care about their customers. read more

Extremely friendly service. We just moved to Norfolk from Massachusetts, and both of our cars needed oil changes, tire rotations, and Virginia inspections. On top of all of that, my husband's Jeep's check engine light blinked on our way over there. The service was very fast, everyone was extremely polite, and the cost was extremely reasonable. Willowwood is not the best service center I have ever been to, nor the cheapest, but it is the only place in the area I will take my car too. They are a good 15 minute drive from my house and they outperform every mechanic shop within walking distance in terms of reliability and customer relations. Sometimes I don't agree with the price, but at least I know my vehicle is in experienced hands when I take it to them. read more

This place rocks! I went to another place before going to Willowwood that overcharged me and misdiagnosed my car. So glad I found these guys. The customer service is excellent and the guy at the counter (who I think is the owner) is reasonable, telling me the facts about my car and what does and doesn't need to be done and their prices as compared to other local mechanics are reasonable. After searching for a good, honest and reasonably priced garage for a few years, we tried Willowwood Service Center and were thrilled. Bob is friendly, listens and will advocate on your behalf if he finds something that a dealership should be taking care of. He goes above and beyond. I have had nothing but good experiences there with a wide range of vehicles for over 7 years. I have confidence that when I get a car inspected that it only fails when it really needs attention. Being a woman without much mechanical know how, they actually help to explain and give you the order of repairs that should be done for safety if it comes to that. I have felt educated, not taken advantage of. Recommend them highly! read more

I had an accident with my BMW a few months ago that required work on the rear axle, wheel and brakes. I took it to Willowwood for the work. When I got my car back, the steering wheel wasn't straight, so I brought it back and they charged me even more money to fix what should've been done right the first time. Recently, my car started experiencing brake issues. When I brought it to a more reputable shop, they informed me that not only was the work that was done badly done, but there were parts of the job that weren't even completed, that Willowwood did just enough to get my car running, and not for long. The total I paid for the work at Willowwood was over $1,500. Now I have to pay another shop over $2K to get it fixed properly. I'm sure Willowwood is fine doing small jobs like oil changes, but beware of using them for bigger jobs. I'm very disappointed in the work that was done and the lack of integrity with the business. read more
