Super nice and honest folks. Reasonable pricing as well. I will be returning for sure!

Friendly, quick, and clean. I used online to schedule appt which was easy and had suv inspected in 35 mins.

This has become my go-to spot for state inspections. Both times I've called, they were able to get me in immediately. They had my car in the garage within minutes of my arrival and back out with my new sticker in less than 30. I honestly wouldn't share any of this info online for fear of them getting too many additional customers - LOL - however, the employees here have been super friendly and highly efficient and deserve recognition. I have no doubt, based on their very apparent high level of care, that should I have any mechanical issues in the future, they will be my first phone call. Update: I unknowingly left my yeti in the waiting area and they called me to let me know they had it stashed safely for me to come grab it. Much appreciated!!! read more

These guys rock! Honesty, fair prices and get the work done in a timely manner. Very communicative and kind. Thanks so much!

Great service and they fixed my car's ac. The AC hasn't been working for about 5 months. They diagnosed the problem and fixed my issue in 72 hours. I will most definitely be coming back if need be. read more

Jerry Box took over business and he has taken care of my needs for a long time. Met him at the Cadillac store but he helped me set up my track car. Keeps my 98 Corvette convertible on the road and factory services my new Maverick ,he does it all . read more

Don't trust this business they are sneaky, and the prices are ridiculous. If your vehicle fails state inspection, take your vehicle and run elsewhere to get a better price and estimate, they will suck you dry and then give you this pathetic look like you are at the end of the road with options. I made a big mistake because the pressure was on, waving the failed inspection in my face and it took nearly, 5 hours for a 15 mins job! read more

I brought my truck here and to get fixed and they were very nice and straight forward about what it needed and were nice to help me anyway i needed. Very smart people i would take my future cars here if i need major repairs done read more

Second time I've brought my vehicle in for maintenance. The first time it was for a torn belt; I didn't know what the problem was but they fixed it quick and didn't try to sell me any unnecessary additional repairs. Most recently I got my state inspection, an oil change and tire rotation. Again, super quick service (called on a Friday, had an appointment scheduled for the following Monday). Dropped the car off, waited in the office for less than hour, and it was all set. At other places I've gone to I've had to drop my vehicle off the night before, and even then it would take all day. Not here, they get right to work and get things settled on time. I won't take my vehicle anywhere else so long as I live in Hampton Roads. This shop has mechanics who know what they're doing, and they don't try to take advantage of you. Best value bar none, this place rocks. read more

Absolutely outstanding, took my jeep to them today and it seemed like they had a tight schedule but they were able to fit me right in!! They diagnosed my car very thoroughly and gave me the run down of everything that was done to it and needed to be done, very professional crew! Not to mention but I got my jeep back the same day I brought it in!! Will definitely come back to this shop!!!! read more

My car's clutch went out and I was freaking out. I had requested different quotes from different shops but J&J Automotive Repair was the best in price (fair pricing) along with amazing work. In and out in no time, I was even able to use a replacement part that I purchased with no issues. I normally don't leave reviews but if you're looking for a shop, this is it. read more

Justin is a great mechanic with fair pricing and great communication. Had him change out a fuel sending unit in my Trans Am and he did the job well and at a very fair price for how big of a job it was. I will not hesitate to have him work on my car again. read more

My fiance's car was having an issue with what I now know was the brake line caught in the caliper. The issue was only being had while the car was in reverse so I figured something with the gear box was wrong. Jerry messaged me not even ten minutes after I put the work request in. He was very knowledgable and was quick to get the vehicle in and out for a great price. From the time I put in the request for a mechanic to the time I left the shop with it repaired was about two hours. Great, expedient service at a good price! read more

I needed some major work on my F350, running rough and leaking oil and other issues . But so many shops to go to. I decided to use J & J Automotive Repair. I messaged them . Jerry messaged me back immediately. I dropped it off. Jerry called me with the concerns I had on my truck and explained to me what's going on and how much it would all be . I approved all the work . He told me it would take 3 to 4 days with all the repairs. I get a call from Jerry 2 days later . And told me my vehicle was ready . I'm so glad I called J & J Automotive and very impressed with Jerry and his professionalism . His pricing Was fair and honest . My truck hasn't ran like this since I bought it new . I Highly recommend his auto repair shop and will definitely recommend all my friends and family to him .Thanx again Jerry read more

Jerry said he could take my '97 Diesel right away to fix the diesel fuel leak at the top of the engine, so I took it in the following day. I told him that I had the dealership address the leak and was not satisfied with the Service Writers customer service nor the estimate given. I waited a couple of hours for the vehicle until he told me what the problem was. The estimate was the same as the dealer at a cost of $ 1,500.00, plus parts. I asked what had to be done for that cost and what parts. He told me that the Turbo had to be removed to get to the problem, a couple of hoses, that he had two great Diesel Mechanics on it, I had to leave the truck and he would call me when it was ready. I waited the following day and heard nothing from him, so I called mid afternoon and left a message. He returned the call and said the truck was ready, so I had my wife drive me to the shop. 5 minutes into the drive, the mechanic called me and said that he was finished, test drove the truck, there was no leak, and that he was going to test drive again, then call me back when it was ready. I told him that Jerry already called me and that I was on the road. When I got to the shop and got the bill I was surprised to see that the cost for parts, some hoses, included an additional $350.00 for a lift pump. Jerry did not consider calling me to informing me of the additional charge. His mechanics may be great at something, but it is not at Diesel diagnostics. At home I opened the hood to see what was done. I did not see any wrench or tool marks on the Turbo bolts indicating that the turbo had not been removed. I did see wear marks on the metal "Y" tube in front of the turbo. I should have stuck with the Dealer. read more

I live out of state (in Florida) and I called Jerry today to see about having a used car inspected before I buy it, since I don't have any friends or family in the area, and I don't want to purchase a used vehicle sight unseen. I have never met such a rude group of people, seems like none of them belong in the office or the line of work talking to customers. The owner needs to clean them out and get new workers. read more

I needed some work done on my old truck, I asked 5 places for an estimate. J&J had the lowest priced quote and almost immediate availability. They got the job done quick, kept in contact with me every step of the way, didn't hide any pricing, and the work done was quality. I personally dealt with Jerry and he is fantastic. This shop might not have many reviews but don't let that fool you into thinking that this place isn't awesome. If you want low priced, fast service, great quality work done, this is the place to go. read more

Hard to know how this will be long term as I have just moved from San Diego where my dad and I had a relationship with our mechanic for 40 years. I was advised by a friend that it is hard to find a good, honest mechanic in Virginia Beach. That said, my first interaction with J&J was very positive. He seems very knowledgeable, reasonable on prices, had availability and not into doing unnecessary "add-ons." It does take some time to develop relationships but my first interaction was extremely positive. While not anxious for more repairs, I will certainly start with J&J again. read more

We drove from Maine to Virginia for my daughter's summer internship. Friday, on the way down, the brakes were going, and by the time we got to Virginia, they were grinding and needed to be replaced. Being Memorial Day weekend, I thought for sure it would be difficult to find a business that would get us in on Saturday, as she needed her vehicle on Tuesday. J and J automotive repair contacted me within minutes of sending out inquiries through Yelp. They could get me in that morning and fix the vehicle by noon. I was surprised and thrilled at the same time. What really impressed me the most was, while in the waiting room, I was listening to conversations he was having with customers and answering their questions while working on their vehicles. It was very clear that he was a kind and patient man, and wanted the customer to know what he was doing and why, so they could feel completely satisfied. He answered all of their questions and gave additional information that would help them with their vehicle. Not being from the area, I was concerned about being taken advantage of, but this was not the case with this business. Not only did he fix the front brakes and rotors, he showed me the old pads and what they should look like. He also commented on the rear brakes and rotors being replaced recently and we're perfectly fine (which they were) . He also noticed a couple of additional things that didn't need to be taken care of right now, but wanted me to be made aware of it so that the next timeI had an oil change due, I could recommend this to my mechanic. It is with the utmost confidence that I highly recommend this business, whether you're new to the area or have been living here for years. You will feel completely confident that you received the best service available. Having peace of mind that my daughter's brakes are working perfectly now makes me feel much better heading back to Maine. read more

I very rarely right reviews on this platform, but my visit/ experience was too good to not write one. I had taken my 2016 Jeep Wrangler in for new rotors and brake pads along with aftermarket headlights, flooflights, fender flares and a new bumper. At first I thought I'd have to pay for a whole new set of pads and rotors but Jerry was very honest and told me that my front brakes and rotors were just fine and didn't need any adjustments. The craftsmanship and integrity of this establishment is something to share with other!!! 10/10 would recommend read more
